Kijibwa, after his run in with the odd young lionesses (only one of which was a Pridelander), has mixed ideas of the pridelanders. Kiburi's comments still stand out in his mind, the pridelanders are fat, lazy and stupid. The spat with Kiuma had proven was that they can be mean. The way China spoke they were regal and magestic. The brief encounter with Tekeza laying around was the only thing that backed up what Kiburi had said.

It doesn't even cross his mind that maybe you can't label a whole pride as one personality type.

Eager to get some more proof about the pride of this land he doesn't go about his search the sneaky way any longer. Of course, even when he'd tried that he'd been found, so it doesn't matter if he's trying or not. Intent on finding someone new to ask, he leaps onto a nearby rock to get a good look around him.

There must be someone nearby!

And, in fact, there was. Padding through the tall grasses of the Pridelands, and nearly matching them in color, was a young lioness, seemingly keeping to herself, and trying to stay low and hidden. Everything about her seemed nervous and worried; how lightly she stepped through the fields, how her body remained tense as she walked, and especially the cautious glances she threw over her shoulder every so often. Despite all this, she paid no mind to the male on the rock, or noticed him, for that matter. Ears flattening, she once more paused to take a look around.
"It may just be a weird feeling.." Siku quietly told herself, before continuing onward.

Kijibwa's tail sways when he finally notices the lioness walking through the grasses, requiring quite a bit of focus to really see her through the matching landscape. He smiles and, though he notices the cautious way she carries herself, jumps from the rock and heads in the direction the lioness is.

"Hey!" he calls out a greeting, hoping that she'll stop and talk to him so he won't have to try to follow her too far.

Giving a startled jump at the sound of the other lion, Siku whipped around to see the other perched upon the rocks, dropping nervously to a position where she could easily run if needed. She'd never seen this lion before.. and he seemed friendly enough.. but what if he was trying to attack her?
"H...hello.." she managed out softly and quietly, looking up from the ground to him with nervous eyes. Maybe this wasn't going to be a bad encounter..

He grins when she does come to a stop despite the nervous and ready-to-run posture. He tosses his mane out of his eyes and looks at her curiously.

"Hello," Kiji greets her again, "I'm Kijibwa."

Well, this one certainly doesn't look as threatening or playful as the others. More like... scared?

(( wow, terribly short post, sorry XD ))

Still in her tensed and running position, Siku paused in confusion at his friendly tone and words, allowing herself to sit up and relax a bit. Nodding in response to his name, she very quietly replied. "I'm Siku.. it.. it's nice to meet you.." she said, ducking her head a bit and watching the ground quietly. Deciding that she wasn't being too friendly, Siku looked up, though still carefully watching Kijibwa.
"Y...you're not from around here... are you..?"

Kijibwa, still smiling, takes a seat and curls his tail around his feet. What a funny little lioness, he didn't know he's so intimidating! He can almost laugh at the thought, the ordeal with Kiuma had pretty much proved that he wasn't very tough.

"It's nice to meet you, Siku," he replies in a friendly tone, "No, I'm not from around here. Are you?"

His tone for his question is rather hopeful, and in general he keeps a friendly expression. It's probably the best way to talk to a nervous lion, being friendly.

Still watching Kijibwa's moves, Siku nodded, offering a first in the span of her life; a very soft, but evident, smile. "Yes.. I.. I am a Pridelander.." she said quietly, dropping her eye contact and looking to the ground once more. Her parents didn't want her to leave pridelander territories.. and so she never had. Was that a bad thing? Looking up a moment, Siku carried on the conversation more. "Wh.. what is it like, outside these lands?" She asked, curiously awaiting Kijibwa's answer.

"Ooh, that's great!" He exclaims, watching her smile and then look away, "What are the lions like here?" He's decided to try a different approach, rather than calling the lions lazy outright.

He tilts his head when he's asked a question, and brightens, "Outside of the Pridelands? There are lots of different places! I lived in the jungle for a long time, it has lots of trees and dirt and bugs.."

Kiji pauses before continuing, "And there's the desert, but I didn't like it very much there. Too hot, and there wasn't much food or water."

"Lions?" Thinking back, Siku paused in her talking for a bit, before shaking her head and looking to the ground nervously.
"I.. I haven't.. really... spoken.. with other lions.." she said in a hushed tone, ears drooping. Still, she looked back up to Kijibwa, eyes widening.
"That many trees..?" Siku asked, almost awing over the idea of so many trees. She then thought onto the desert concept, nodding. "Deserts.. no food or water.." she muttered, almost to re-assure herself that she was taking it in properly.

"Really?" He asks, tilting his head and looking kind of disappointed, "So you don't know if they're lazy or not?" Kiji looks at the ground in his disappointment, but recovers quickly.

"Oh yes, lots of trees," he answers brightly, "Not like the ones here, they're everywhere. And the desert really wasn't very nice, I don't think I'd like to ever go back there." He shudders, shaking his head to emphasize his feeling.

Ah, going back anywhere- a concept he hasn't pondered in awhile.

"Not like the ones here? Everywhere....?" Pausing, Siku smiled a bit. "I bet they're amazing.." she said with a romantic sigh, closing her eyes and trying to imagine the sight of it. Opening her lids once more, and looking back to Kiji, she smiled. "I..it must be nice, being able to go wherever you want.." Siku said, nodding to reassure her feelings. "Instead of having to stay in the Pridelands.."

Kiji adopts an expression similar to the tone of her sigh, thinking about how much he'd like to go wander again. He's startled out of his dreaming when she comments on how lucky he is to be able to go wherever he wants to go.

He tilts his head, "What? You can't go wherever you want?"

Eyes widening, Siku looked at Kiji as if he were mad, cocking her head to the side.
"But.. my family is in th-" pausing, she thought back to the fact her brother Kiza had left the pride, looking to the ground and her ears drooping.
"Atleast, my mother and father are.... and what about the pride's protection?" She asked, looking back up to Kiji again.
"If I left, I would be alone.. and.." biting her lower lip, Siku looked away ashamed.
"...I can't fend well for myself.."

Family in the pridelands, it makes sense. He smiles affectionately at her, finding her general mien to be a little entertaining but mostly endearing. He nods along with her explanation to show that he agrees.

"Family is important," he says, "And protection is always good. But, you know, I've been alone since I was a cub- I don't remember my family. And I survived all right, I'm alive, right?" He smiles, "After I got out of the desert I was just fine."

He pauses, turning his head and looking back the way he came from thoughtfully.

"I think I might leave the pridelands again, I didn't find what I was looking for," he says thoughtfully, then turns to her suddenly, "You could come with me, if you want to! I'm going to come back. Even for a little while?"

He's on his feet all at once, excited by the idea of going away for awhile.
