Nova had been content to quietly read. Even if that meant sitting quietly, and most importantly, alone, she would manage. The young hybrid was used to others not talking to her. Although lately, she'd come out of her shell a fair bit, she still liked to spend time on her own. So when she became friends with Marsh, she hadn't expected the boy to yank her book out of her hands...and ask her to come to play. The first time this had happened, she had been downright shocked. Now, it was normal for her to hang out with him on occasion. On one such day, when she otherwise would have been reading or coloring, he came to see her.

As if on queue Marsh barged into her space. The boy had a wicked grin on his face, the hybrid's tail swished behind him excitedly. "Nova!! Come on, let's go explore the garden." Poking at her arm, the hybrid boy grinned. "Come on, you read all the time lets gooooo." The boy demanded. School was soooo boring. Ugh. Impatiently his tail swayed back and forth as he nudged at her. Once the other got up, the pair scampered off, to go outside. Marsh was also on the alert to see if he recognized anyone to recruit for the exploration! Good explorers always needed company right?

Saffron was already at the garden, poking at a nasty looking mushroom with a stick. This was definitely not something you could cook with.. Just look at that nasty stuff that bubbled on it. Maybe you could make it into a potion? A poison? The freshling shrugged as she continued to poke at the mushroom. It was quiet today in the garden for once and the hybrid was absolutely loving it.
He lifted her head as she heard someone hooting and hollering in the distance. She hoped they weren't heading to the garden but it was more than likely the case since there wasn't much more over this direction. Saffron sighed, looking back to the mushroom. After all, it was way more interesting than any other freshling she'd seen today... with the exception of Altair, of course.

Nova quietly followed the other. She sighed softly, he was always so noisy. "I'm coming.." She added with a small smile. There was no sense in fighting with him, he was always like this it was just how he expressed himself.
Wincing, Nova shook her head. "Shhh... I am right by you Marsh. I don't know... we will see." She peeked from behind him glancing around. Sitting there seemed to be a girl with a stick and poking at something. "H...hello...I hope you don't mind--" He was off again, like a blur of movement. Nova only hoped the other didn't mind to much.

Marsh grinned as he bounced ahead of Nova as he turned around and beamed. "Do you think anyone is out here?!" He called out loudly not seeming to be capable of monitoring his own voice volume. Just as he was going to say more, he realized they weren't alone.
Curious who the other was, Marsh whirled around as he heard Nova talking to someone. The boy's mismatched eyes widened. "Hey!! Why are you all alone." He bounced a couple steps closer, just out of arms reach as he beamed at the other hybrid. "Sup!" He greeted cheerfully. Whoever they were, they had company now! Marsh didn't plan to go anywhere until he had determined whether or not they were down for going on an adventure with them.

Saffron heard a voice talking to her so she looked to the side to see a small geist and litch hybrid. Before she could really decided how she felt of the others, Marsh blurted out words at her. She slowly stood up with a frown. "Why are you freakishly loud?" She replied quietly. When he got closer to her, she took two steps back... not enjoying the other encroaching on her space. She passed a glance at Nova, surprised that she would be around someone so loud and annoying.
Saffron turned back to the mushroom, poking at it with a stick again as she ignored the couple. She hoped they would go away but judging by how the boy was, that was quite unlikely.

Marsh tilted his head at the other as he saw her sort of retreat from him. He hadn't really met that many kids in his life who really...hung out with him. His siblings maybe, but the way she looked at him with the frown made the demon, nixie hybrid's brows furrow. "Oh." He pursed hs lips, as if considering for the first time, perhaps the nature of how he talked as if it never occurred to him. "I dunno, I just am loud when I'm excited. I guess?" He concluded with a curious look on his face, before shrugging. Watching her go back, he grinned.
"Watchya doin'?" He asked, stepping back a little, getting the whole brooding 'don't touch me' vibe, and instead peering at the weird thing on the ground. His eyes lit up, excited by the weird gross, yet cool thing. "Woah! What is that?!"

Nova wasn't sure whether or not to apologize for her friend..or to let them sort it out. A sheepish expression crossed her face as she rubbed her arm slightly. "I hope you don't mind company...I know Marsh is loud---" Nova almost expected the loud annoying sound that came from the hybrid boy.
"But..if you don't mind, we are exploring the garden to look at nature...you are welcome to --- Oh! That is really cool." She murmured, her eyes lighting up curiously. Worriedly, she pressed a clawed digit to her lip. Nova looked to Saffron and then the mushroom, unsure what to make of the unusual thing. She was more worried about the other girl...she didn't want to be a bother if she'd rather be alone. Nova could appreciate that.

Saffron wondered what she had done to deserve the annoying pair. While the smaller giest, litch hybrid wasn't nearly as bad as her friend she had to admit her dog was. Trying her best to ignore them, it became increasingly difficult as the pair got closer to inspect the specimen she had found. Frowning, she looked between them. She felt annoyed, why couldn't they go find their own things in the garden to inspect? She wanted to be left alone with her findings. Of course, that was just to much to ask for. "If you don't stop shouting...I will cut your tongue off and feed it to to your small friend." She added quietly, without missing a beat she simply turned to look at them, giving either a less than friendly look.

"HEY!" Marsh protested, towards Nova looking at both girls with a sort of mock-horror, despite the smile pulling at his lips again. "Yeaaa...I'll reel it in okay~?" He grumbled, crouching down a bit away from the mushroom, and potential new friend, in order to get a closer look at what he guessed was a mushroom. Glaring at it, as if expecting it to do something.
As he settled in to get comfy while looking at the mushroom, he looked up at the other girl as she threatened to feed his body bits to Nova. Laughing he shook his head. "You are funny! You don't really mean that, come on, we are just wanting to meetchya!" He insisted.

Nova winced. She wasn't so sure whether or not the other nightmare was really joking...there was something about the way she looked at both of them that gave her reason to pause. Nervously she tugged at Marsh's sweater. "Can we go...if she doesn't want the company we don't have to be a bother." She added softly, nibbling a little on her bottom lip as she tried to convince Marsh that enough was enough.
As pretty as the unusual specimen was...it wasn't worth making someone angry. It did make her a little bit sad. "Please don't chop him up...I don't think he'd taste very good anyway." Nova found it in her to smile.

Saffron sighed. Between the noise the boy made, and the girl sticking up for him she really didn't understand why their were friends..nor did she really care. Rolling her eyes she finally shrugged at them. "...I don't care if you look, just keep him under control or else." She added before ignoring the pair, and focusing her attention back on the mushroom.
If she was going to learn all about life, and death something like this was a good find. She would have to read up about it. Prodding her stick at it she smiled slightly. "It's a poisonous mushroom I am pretty sure....better not get to close, or go ahead." She said quietly, with the barest hint of amusement. Saffron's eyes never left the mushroom, despite her ominous words.

Nova contemplated the others words as she weighed their options. Wincing, she worried if they would get sick from the mushroom. It was a little late for that, oh well. Deciding it didn't really do any harm to stick around, she curiously rests her chin against her bent knees were drawn to her chest. "I usually only like stuff with the stars....but this is still fun to examine." She murmured thoughtfully.
"Thanks, I guess, I understand it was a lot all at once." She said quietly before closing her eyes for a moment. If her little sibling was here...would they have been interested in the strange mushroom? Whatever it was worth, this wasn't exactly the adventure Nova thought she'd be going on, but it was a nice change of pace. That was for sure.

Marsh gave the new hybrid a weird look. She sure did like her space...maybe Nova was right? Then again everyone liked company! Some just more so than others. Deciding instead of getting upset, he sat back on his rear and chuckled. "Well, even if it is poisonous...at least we got to meet a new friend today!" He gave a fist pump in empathizing for his delight.
The boy's fins even wiggled, swaying back and forth in evidence of his joy. Standing up, he dusted himself off. "Well, it was nice meeting you... By the way!! Even if you don't care I'm Marsh! This is Nova! Hope I see you again~!" Marsh added in a sing-song voice as he beamed at the demon, litch hybrid.

Saffron listened to the pair, wondering if perhaps they had some brain cells missing. Despite this, she was quiet as she let the two of them speak. She, on the other hand, didn't engage with them, hoping they would get the message. At least Altair was worth her time, this whole time however, Saffron had been taking mental notes as the mushroom oozed in response to her poking at it. Her eyes flickered to the pair as they got ready to depart, finally. Being given their names, she exhaled in a small, short breath. "Saffron..." She said finally, before going back to minding her own business.
