He was humiliated. Sure, it was his first time doing archery. But he had expected better results! Certainly not miss the target completely! He only hoped no one had seen. That was a humiliation he would like to live down in private, thank you very much.
Grumbling, he moved over to the wall of the gym, crouching down and waiting for the next students to take their turn with the bow and arrow. He was happy to see a few doing just as terrible as he did. But those small satisfactions were quickly squashed by seeing others doing way better. Especially a certain slaugh. His cheeks reddened, eyes narrowing dangerously. "Great," he sneered sarcastically to himself.

She had done better than him. Way better. A cocky grin graced Liv's lips after her s**t. She hoped that Nym saw that. He better have seen it. She turned around to find him. And her smile widened further at the sight of his red cheeks, stark against his pale fur. It was time to throw it in his face.
With a sway of her hips; Liv made her way towards the hybrid. "Did you shoot with your eyes closed or are you just a s**t shot?" She bet on the latter. No way was he going to be good at anything. The male was probably just all talk, no effort. He seemed pretty dim witted. Liv towered over him and leaned over, a sleazy smile sliming her lips further upwards. **"Do you need to take some advice and tips from an expert." Although honestly, it had been her first time picking up a bow and arrow. It was good enough.

Nym opened his mouth to snarl a retort before shutting it quickly. Of course she had to do so well, when he did so awful. Liv seemed to enjoy lording over him with her lucky shot.
His lips peeled back in a sneer and he quickly pushed himself up. He refused to be sitting while she towered over him. "Lucky shot," he retorted with a roll of his eyes. His chin lifted stubbornly. "Only idiots are interested in a dead end life want to be good at archery," he added heatedly. That's what his father had said and doubting his words was just not something Nym did.

The gaping didn't go unnoticed by Liv. Her lips curled into a smug smile, flipping her hair back. So he was jealous. Perfect, as he should be. Her victory was flawless.
Usually, it would perturb her to be called a lucky shot. But this time? it made the grin on her face widen. Pride filled her entire core. "It was aimed, so I wouldn't call it lucky."Okay, maybe it was her first time and her hands had been shaky But that was beside the point. He didn't need to know that. Liv let out a low hum, leaning her head forward and staring down at him, one hand set firmly on her hip. "Oh? Someone sounds like a sore loser. Only idiots would be bad at it. It doesn't take much to be great at it. Hit the mark. That's all." She flashed him a smile.

Nym was awfully irritated at being mocked. Liv was shoving his poor shot in his face, while flaunting her success! His teeth grinded, eyes flashing angrily.
Finally, he tossed his head, peering down his nose at her... well, as down as he could with his not so tall stature.
"Do it again. If you can't, you have to be my slave for a week," he sneered. Before smirking. "Unless... you don't think you can hit it?" he murmured venomously.

Oh, was Nym a bit hurt over his lack of skill? How pitiful. Liv's smile curled further upwards as the flash of anger came across Nym's face. "Do you really think that intimidates me?" She could care less that he was slightly taller. "You're not intimidating at all, big nose." Tweaking his nose was tempting, but she refrained.
Do it again? Her face nearly fell, doubt clouded her eyesight. No way was she going to admit defeat. "Fine. I can do it again. Easy peasy." She smirked, strained. "But if I do hit it...you have to be my slave. "
'Refuse it. Please.' The mere chance of being his slave sent shivers down her spine. Ugh.

Big nose?! His hand came up, feeling at his nose, eyes wide. Never before had he thought twice about his nose being too big or too small. It was perfect, in his opinion! But now, this smudge was making him self conscious about it. How dare she!
He hesitated as she agreed to do it again. Not because he doubted his own resolve. But because... was it worth being her slave? Being anyone's slave would be a huge blow to his pride. Being her slave would be awful! He sneered, however. "Fine! You won't hit it again, anyways!" he snapped, arms crossing. Oh, please don't let her hit it.

Liv scoffed. "Watch me." She did it once, she could do it again. She was sure. With a flick of her hair, the senior stormed back into line and picked up her bow. Inhaling, she raised the bow and with trembling fingers, tried readying herself. How hard could it be to hit a target that wasn't even far away?
Very hard.
The slaugh winced as the arrow barely made it on the target. It didn't even hit the outer ring. Rather, it landed on the top, nearly whizzing over the target. ********. Liv swallowed as a lump formed in her throat. What was she going to do?
"W-Well---You couldn't even do that!" She whirled around. "I still hit the target. It counts." Or so she hoped.

"It doesn't count!" he sneered, though his heart was in his throat. Did he even say that it had to be a bullseye or that she had to hit it? He couldn't remember and he hoped she didn't either. "You just barely got the target! Not even in the lines, too!" he added, almost desperately.
The short hybrid's fingers twitched as he desperately wanted to grip his clothes in anxiety. It was a telltale sign and his father had told him to quit it. His father had also told him not to give so much away, emotionally, but Nym couldn't help it; he was a rather emotional and temperamental male.
"I could do it easily!" he snapped, moving to snatch the bow from her. "If I get closer to the center than you, the deal still stands," he growled.

"How does it not count? You bet I couldn't do it again, and I did!" Liv flung her hand towards the target. It was clearly visible. She had hit it. He just needed to squint. She ignored the other students that were getting antsy and impatient to get their shot in. There was plenty of time. And patience was a great thing to learn. "I--well---" she paused, her eyes narrowed. "I still hit it. It was just one shot. The wind got in the way. I'm sure I could do better the next time. You can't even hit it." She folded her arms and smirked. "The last time you tried, you missed. "
He wanted to try? Her hand tightened on the bow. The last time he missed but what about this time? Her lip quivered nervously. Nym---he couldn't hit the target right? Right. Of course. "Fine." she outstretched the bow towards him. "But if you don't get closer, then you have to be my slave for two weeks." Double or nothing right?
The hybrid brat was going to be her slave for sure.

Nym tossed his head, grasping the bow before pulling up an arrow. "Just you watch and see," he growled. His eyes studied the bow again before he notched the arrow. It took a bit of fumbling before he finally got it to stay steady. He brought the bow up, pulling the string back. Unfortunately, he forgot to bring his elbow up.
When he released, he also had his hand in the wrong position. It snapped against his hand and he dropped the bow with a cry of pain. The arrow whizzed clear over the target but he was too concerned by the good bit of his skin that was rubbed raw. "Deities, that hurt!" he cried out, pressing a hand to the red area. There were some spots that were trickling blood. Maybe he should go to the nurses? But... his eyes looked up at Liv, eyes glazed slightly... and his stubbornness came back. "That didn't count," he announced, trying to ignore his throbbing arm.

"Oh, I'm watching." The slaugh's eyes narrowed at the bow. She wasn't very religious. But the idea of Nym making the shot had her internally wishing to the gods about him not making the shot. Man, if only he was bluffing. If only he was too chicken s**t to rise to the challenge. By the gods, he was pulling the string back on the bow. "You're not going to make it, you know." She sneered, although her shoulder's were tense. Please don't make it. Liv squeezed her eyes shut. She didn't dare watch.
What the hell happened?
Liv's eyes flew open to look at Nym. Did he make it? Her bright blue eyes darted over to the target, gaze focused and looking for any tell tale signs of indentation. But---there was only her arrow. Did--did he miss? She looked over towards Nym. He--He must have. A slow smile creeped up on her lips. Oh, how she wished she had her eyes open the whole time.
Liv rested a hand on her hip. "Aww, did the mutt hurt himself?" she cooed. The temptation to grab his hand and kiss it better like a caretaker was on the forefront of her mind. If he wasn't such a p***k, she might have. The slaugh leaned over to peer at the wound. "The poor baby made himself bleed." she jutted out her upper lip. "I told you---you wouldn't be able to hit a thing." She cocked her head to the side haughty. "Maybe you should take the freshling class. It seems more your speed."
Laughter threatened to bubble from her lips. Dieties, she couldn't believe that he actually missed twice! Fate was on her side today. "I don't count today as a part of our two week bet. " she couldn't stop the devious smirk that formed on her face, her eyes glinting mischievously. "I'll give you time to prepare."

She was mocking him! His cheeks tinted red as his spine stiffened, pride pricked. This had been such a disaster! "You were distracting me," he hissed. But... he did make the bet. And he wasn't raised to back out of agreements. He swallowed heavily and lifted his chin stubbornly. "Today counts. Don't try to worm an extra day," he snapped.
He opened his mouth to angrily retort about taking a freshling class... when the coach seemed to have noticed. They gruffly ordered him to go to the nurse's. And, as an afterthought, told Liv to accompany him. His lips peeled back in disgust. Great. Now he was being treated like a cripple. "I can go on my own," he muttered, before going to get his bag. He was still in his gym outfit too... he would have to change after the nurse.

"I was distracting you?!" Liv scoffed. Just what was this oaf thinking? "I was silent when you were trying to shoot!" What, was staring at him too much pressure? The slaugh rolled her eyes. Nym was a rich mutt. He should be used to the attention. She scoffed. He really was too much.
"Today doesn't count, you big baby." How was he going to serve her if he had an injured hand? The baby was going to whine the whole time. She was sure. At least she wouldn't have to deal with him until after classes were over.
Or so she thought.
Liv let out a groan as she was called over to accompany Nym. "Just my luck." she sighed before smiling, strained. "A mutt like you can't even hit a target that's not ten feet away. You can't walk more than that without getting lost. " she scoffed again. "Meet you at the door~"
Dieties, she was regretting that bet already.
