"Hmm... do I want... curry? Or do I want... oh is that the coffee shop with the glazed donuts??"

Sutai sighed, hands cupping her cheeks, elbows resting on her thighs, sitting atop of a boutique clothing store in downtown Destiny City. Her legs, armored now with lovely copper shin-guards whose tops reminded her of a lotus, dangled over the side as she talked to herself. She was almost always chipper, but tonight, she was chipper and hungry. Incredibly thankful to ascend to Knighthood after all this time, it seemed ironic that her chief complaint was being cold, only to find her fluffy new cape was much too hot in the sweat of summer.

She would have blown a raspberry to the sky, but that seemed disrespectful. The Powers That Be were nice enough to make her into a Knight, so Sutai shouldn't be so ungrateful about it.

"I should probably not have donuts. Donuts are great but curry is probably more filling, and all that sugar... oh but I love sugar..."

Enough was enough. Dropping from the rooftop and flitting from windowsill to lamp-post, Sutai landed on a bike rack and talked herself through her plan of action. "Well, I could probably get a full curry meal and save some for later... that would be great leftovers for work tomorrow... Hmm... and maybe, if I only get one donut, and that could be dessert..."

The Knight of Polaris, for all her lovely new powers and strength, did not notice the poor blonde woman not too far from her, staring as if Sutai herself was a runaway professional sports mascot or a famous celebrity who escaped from a reality show.

Sutai puffed up, startled, and whirled around to see who was addressing her. It would be a lie to say that whirling like that just to see the new cape billow didn't cross her mind. She was proud of the cape, but wasn't proud of the fact that she'd dropped down in front of a civilian that she happened not to notice.

"Oh! Hello!"

With a curtsy, Sutai pulled at the edges of her fluffy skirt to introduce herself. "My name is Sutai! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there! But umm... yes? Well, yes to the jumping off buildings thing. It's no issue anymore, really! Don't worry, I'm not hurt or anything!" If she could have, Sutai probably would have been sparkling with glee, glossing over the fact that she didn't explain all the special magical powers... Best not to startle the public. Public relations is very important to combat the nasty things the Negaverse had been saying!

The suggestion for curry earned a very enthusiastic nod from the knight, who dropped down onto the sidewalk from the bike rack in a quick hop. "Oh! Yes, you're definitely right. Curry would be better than a donut. I've still got more patrolling to do, and a donut just wouldn't give me enough energy, I think. Oh!"

Sutai brought her hands to her cheeks and bounced on her heels slightly. "Speaking of, is there anything I can do for you? Are you alright? No monsters bothering you tonight? I didn't sense any, so I think we're okay, but... I do like to help people. Do you need any help?"

"Oh! Okay! I'm glad to hear you don't need any help, but please be careful!" Sutai was busy waving to the blonde woman, who she considered to be a fairly nice citizen (who didn't berate her or call her stupid, as some were wont to do). The Knight of Polaris was going back to her dinner decision-making when the young lady had called to her, asking if she had dropped something.

Sutai turned back to her, tilting her head. "Suits? Oh no, miss. My name is Sutai! But that's pretty close. Um... dropped something? Hmm..." Looking down at herself, her Knight regalia certainly looked like it could have been missing a dangling piece or three if she wasn't careful. Even more elaborate than her Squire outfit, Sutai was quite proud of all the sparkly bits she'd been granted. Long, slender fingers picked through the various pieces on her skirt and bodice, looking for anything that could have been missing.

She looked up again, satisfied that nothing seemed to be amiss, only to find another Polaris knight standing there. A Page, to be precise, but Polaris was Polaris. "Nope, doesn't look like I dropp--- OH! Oh oh oh! You didn't tell me you were like me, too! That's okay, but... what is your name?? This means you'll go to dinner with me, right? As friends?! We can be friends, right?"

Gathering up the new Page's hands, Sutai squeaked happily, bouncing up and down, her dress making a chorus of music. "I'm so happy! This is such a wonderful night, wouldn't you say??"

Oh, was this brand new?

Like, brand-brand new?!

Sutai's hands clapped to her cheeks and she practically beamed at the poor Page who hadn't the slightest idea just what was going on. "OH! Well, then it's very very good that we met! You're not drugged, I promise! Really, it's just destiny! Probably." With a few nods to herself, the fluffy Knight of Polaris flicked her wrist and retrieved her copper astrolabe from subspace and presented it to the newbie.

"See? This is my weapon. It's very special to me, just like that ring is very special to you! You picked it up - it chose you! That's how this works, you see." A few more nods and the astrolabe disappeared with a quick toss over her shoulder. Sutai liked to do it like that - it seemed more nonchalant. "When you find your special item, it changes you and awakens a special power. You and me, we're Polaris Knights! Well, I'm a Knight, and you're a Page, but we're the same! Just different spots on the spectrum, you know?"

Hmm... all of that would be confusing, she realized. Sutai had to start to further than back than this. When she first awakened all those years ago, Mister Camelot was there to assist. He saved her life. Now she had the opportunity to assist this new Page! What would Camelot do?

Tapping her chin, the Polaris Knight clicked her heels. Luckily for them, no youma was set to devour the poor blonde. "Have you heard about the gang war in the city? Well... that's what this is. It's not gangs, though - it's superheroes! And we're the superheroes! It's our job to protect the good people of the city so they can live a normal life. I know it seems pretty crazy, but... just watch this!"

Sutai bounced over to the nearby parked car. It was a plain brown sedan, a hatchback, probably with at least one-hundred-thousand miles and several children under its belt. The door was dinged, the windshield had a crack in it. It had seen better days! But all of that was inconsequential - what mattered was its sheer weight. Bending over and grasping the underside of the car from the driver's side, Sutai started to lift the vehicle. It wasn't as though she could or would lift it above her head. Her strength as a Knight was just enough to lift the vehicle's tires off the ground in a display of super-strength.

"See? Superhero! And you're one too! I can train you, if you want~ Oh, there's so many people you can meet! But don't worry, I'll keep you safe. There are supervillains so we have to be careful!"

Now she was getting it!

...sort of.

Sutai wasn't the best at introducing newbies to the war, admittedly, but that didn't put a damper on her spunk. "Right! It's not really a gang war, but that's what the Negaverse wants you to think. You see, I think they have some connections in the media! I think that's why the news doesn't like us much. Really, we're just trying to help people! That's our job!" With a another series of nods, mostly to herself, Sutai started to rock slowly back and forth on her heels.

"All sorts of super villains. Sometimes, it's really scary, especially when you're first starting out. Oh! But don't you worry, I can help you! I'll protect you, too. We're on the same team, you see. You're a Polaris Knight too, after all!" There was no doubting how similar their themed outfits were, though Sutai was still somewhat sad that she was the only Polaris Knight she'd ever known that didn't get pants.

At least the fluffy cape helped. "We'll start small! Patrolling together and taking out the youma! Those are the monsters, you see. The Negaverse uses them to stalk the city and it's terrible, but don't worry! We have magical powers to put a stop to that. Just think!" Suddenly turning around, Sutai gestured with her arms wide to metaphorically encompass the whole of Destiny City. "You could help save lots of lives! Lots of women and children and defenseless people! And there are lots of other perks too, but we'll get to that later! What's your name~?"
