Itsuki was confident in Paeonia’s abilities. Having spent a good deal of time explaining things to her and meeting to practice and train with her, the senshi of peonies seemed to be getting her feet under her with this magical war. The cat’s warnings about Chaos and the Negaverse were well-heeded, and he hoped Paeonia would train with Nix and the others when the cat couldn’t be by her side. It was incredibly important to build relationships with others and to learn with them when it came down to a magical war happening in your city.

But today? Today was not about training. Today was about building relationships.

Sitting beneath the shade of a tree in the park, the Mauvian found it an opportune time to text Kaileen and see what she was up to. Pulling out his beloved NekoCommu, Itsuki dictated quietly a voice-to-text message to the young lady.



Maybe Kaileen and the cat could have some Very Serious Hangout, Pig Out and Snuggle Time today. One could only train so hard and for so long before needing a break!

Oh, good! She wasn't busy! Maybe that would mean a lazy afternoon of eating and snuggling and watching movies or something. Itsuki quietly dictated a reply text and started making his way to her home. It would take him a while to get there on tiny feet unless he could hitch a ride on a passing car or a bicycle.



Sometimes young ladies like to shop, but it was difficult to sneak cats into malls and such unless he was in a backpack. But even then, he couldn't talk to Kaileen, and that would be no fun. In any case, it would take Itsuki some time to cross the distance it took to get to Kaileen's house from the park.

The journey was long for someone with tiny legs, and crossing streets wasn’t so easy, either. If he used crosswalks, then it might have given him away as more intelligent than he was supposed to be, so Itsuki took to darting across the street whenever the coast was clear, and keeping to the safest places he could in the meantime. It took roughly a hour for him to cross the several city blocks it would take to get to Kaileen, and by the time he appeared at the front door, the poor thing was incredibly tired.

Flopping over on the porch, the cat debated taking a quick nap to recover his strength, but something delicious was inside. Maybe Kaileen was cooking something? Itsuki’s little tummy growled and he perked up at the hope of delicious food.

Pawing at the door, he cried, “Mya~? Mya~!” to be let in.

Once inside, things were much better. The tile floor of the kitchen was cool on his feet, and the air conditioning felt wonderful. Knowing Kaileen had a few other residents in the house (two brothers and a father), he would have to keep on the lookout when wanting to speak. No use scaring everyone by revealing he could talk! Only Kaileen would get to know that particular secret.

“Ohayo, Kai-chan~ Sorry it took so long. It’s very hard when you’re small like me and don’t have a scooter or a jet pack.”

Come to think of it, a scooter might be kind of nice… Obvious, but very nice.

“Just pretend I’m a neighborhood stray that’s really cute and friendly, okay~? That can be our cover story~” Padding around, following Kaileen wherever she went in the house, Itsuki started to learn the layout of things. He definitely loved the air conditioning. “Kai-chan, do I smell something delicious? I could smell it outside! Did you cook it?”

The Mauvian happily purred when being picked up and nuzzled. He did so love attention, loving attention, and he tried his best to spend time with all the senshi he'd awakened. It was important, for him and for Themisto, to make sure none of them felt abandoned or left behind. That was Themisto's chief complaint when he was awakened and promptly left to his own devices. Itsuki would make sure that didn't happen to anyone else (to the best of his ability).

"Ohayo, Kai-chan~ Oh! Look at all this food! And this cat tower! I love cat towers! Don't worry, it's not weird. I look like a cat, so it makes perfect sense! It's nice to sit in the tower and look out the windows at the birds sometimes. Sometimes it's nice to just watch the neighbors working in the yard! Just like a person, we Mauvians need our rest sometimes too. It's not good to always be working!"

With a full-body stretch on the couch, the Mau wasn't quite big enough to take up a whole cushion. He laid his head on Kaileen's thigh and purred. "Kai-chan, you haven't been working too hard, right? You need to rest, also. But someday, all this hard work will pay off and your starseed will tell us that it's ready for more power!"
