 It was bad enough the teacher was a stupid girl, but even worse was that he'd been paired with some creepy eyed freak girl. Her mouth was all shaped funny and she'd been giving him looks ever since it'd been announced that they were partners for this project. It was some stupid book or something that they were supposed to do about one another and then present to the rest of the class. Whatever, he didn't want to do it anyway, and even if they did, she'd probably mess it up anyway. Ignoring, for the most part, the teacher's directions, Red huffed and leaned back in his chair. As soon as Ms Snootypants was done talking and gestured for them to get together with their partners, he hopped down and walked decidedly away from Jess or whatever her name was. "I don't need a partner, I can do fine on my own!" he declared.
"Red, we've talked about this before. This is a partnered project. Go introduce yourself and I'm sure Jess would be happy to work with you." The teacher, on the other hand, had already dealt with him on a few occasions about this, and just turned him around and nudged him to where Jess was waiting. Scowling, he stomped his way over, making sure everyone knew it wasn't his decision to do this.

Jess frowned, black eyes squinting at the other freshling she was paired up with for a project. She hated class projects and she hated her classmates. She huffed, playing with her pen and snorted as he threw a fit at the teach. Mature and ugh, why did she have to work with this upstart little brat. She could tell he was staring at her mouth and her eyes and now all she wanted to do was punch him. She turned up her nose at him, mouth pinched tight. She was better than him, she wasn’t going to yell in the classroom. At least not yet. wc 105

"Alright fine, tell me about your stupid weird face so I can write things down and then go away," Red huffed, tail swishing back and forth as he grabbed his crayon and a piece of paper. If she just told him whatever stupid things they needed to know for the project he could just write them down and then write his own things down and she could go off and do whatever. He would just do the stupid project by himself and they wouldn't need to interact with one another at all after this. "What's your name or whatever?" The teacher had said it when she directed him back over, but he hadn't paid attention to it. It wasn't important. It was probably the first question they needed to answer though.

"Call my face weird again, an I'll make your face match,"Jess grumbled, gathering her own supplies and laid them out. She looked at the list of question, ears flattening as the list seemed to go on forever. Ugh, this was going to suck. She huffed. "Guess your deaf as well as rude and stupid."She replied, and printed her name on the line. "It's Jess. And you are Red, which everyone known by now." The teacher certainly said his name loud enough and often enough for the entire class to pin point him. She shook her head displeased and continued to look over the form. wc 106

"Stupid Jess, alright," Red spoke aloud as he wrote down her name, ears already flat against his head. Name: done. "I'm not stupid, stupid, and I'll call your face weird as much as I want because it is. Your mouth is all crinkly and your eyes are all buggy." His tone was matter of fact because it wasn't just his opinion. Her eyes did remind him of some of the bugs he'd caught, and her mouth looked like a pumpka's. Certainly nobody else in the classroom looked like she did. "It's called being honest, idiot. I'm not gonna lie that your face is normal like everyone else's." He rolled his eyes at that. She was clearly different, why would he bother trying to pretend she wasn't.
"Next questions: do you have any pets and how many siblings do you have, if any?" He rolled his eyes at this. Really? Who had even wrote these stupid questions. He had a sibling, Izzy, but most of the stupid kids here didn't. Why did they even have to do this again?

“Doesn’t mean you should be saying anything with those dark circles under your eyes and bad attitude.” Jess unclenched her fingers, rubbing at the strain marks in her palm and it wasn’t worth it making this freshlings eyes budge out because they swelled shut no matter how much she wanted to. She huffed. “I don’t have any siblings, I have a gryftoo.” And he was completely sweet and absolutely stupid. She sighed. “What about you?” She grumbled, scribbling away at the margins. There better not be anything about parents in this stupid list of questions and these questions were dumb. wc 100

Red growled under his breath. Jess didn't have any business talking about how he looked. It wasn't his fault that he couldn't sleep in this stupid place. Everything smelled weird and they'd put him in a room with nightmares who snored. How was he supposed to sleep like that? Tail flicking back and forth in agitation, Red narrowed his eyes at her. And he didn't have a bad attitude, no matter what she or any one else said!
"I have the best big brother in the whole world and a rammykin that won't leave me alone." He wasn't sure where it had come from, but it had decided that it loved him and now it wouldn't leave him alone anytime he was in the room. He'd rather have something cool than a fluffy, floating, rammykin. Izzy, though, he wouldn't trade for anything. His tail wagged softly as he thought about him. He was just so cool and nice and he always knew what was wrong.
"Next questions: Who's your favorite teacher and why? and then what's your favorite subject?" Ugh, these were obviously trying to see who they liked best. Well jokes on them. "I like none of them, and science I guess." It was the least stupid subject of all of them. Plus, the teacher said next year they might be able to set their arms on fire in class.

Jess gave a slight smirk at Red. She could get under his skin too, so he better start behaving or she would work on clawing under till he broke and did something stupid so she didn't have to work with him. She had to control her own anger though first. She huffed, trying to calm down and scribbled the information into the slot. "What is your brother's name?" She asked, ignoring the one he asked her and kept filling out the sheet in front of her. It wasn't her fault he didn't give her all the information she needed to fill out the form. wc 104

"Izzy, obviously." Rolling his eyes, Red moved to the other side of the table, finally sitting down across from her. Since she wasn't smart enough to just answer his questions when he asked, he wasn't going to get to just finish up the stupid project on his own. So he might as well get comfortable. "If you're not gonna answer the stupid questions, I'll just write in answers for you. Then you'll look more stupid than you are when we turn in the book."
Fully situated, he glared at her, waiting for her to answer, tail twitching. Actually, shouldn't she also have some questions on her worksheet. Why didn't she just give him the answers before he had to ask? "Are the questions on your paper different or something?" That might explain why she kept waiting for him to ask them. Or she could just be lazy. Or she could not want to do this project. Not that he wanted to either but at least he was willing to do the stupid thing, even if he couldn't see the point of it. None of the rest of his classmates got their work done like him, and he did all of his all by himself.

"It is not like you said his name," Jess replied dryly and finished writing the answer into the questionnaire. Pleased with how it was filled out she looked at Red's sheet and then hers. . "No, it the same questions. You are just telling me your answers as you ask for mine so I don't have to ask." She really thought it was a bit obvious. "But I really don't like any of the teachers. They are all sort of annoying." In different ways but in all irritated was Jess's general emotion about all of them. "I like art best." She liked to finger paint.

"If you have the same questions, then you should just tell me your answers. I want to get this done today, even if it is one of the stupidest projects we've had to do this year." Red huffed. "And waiting for you to give me answers to questions you have too is stupid and pointless. I'm telling you my answers already because otherwise this is gonna take all day and then I won't be able to do what I want because the caretakers will want us to work together after school or something to get it done." His sheet was filled out just as much, even if it wasn't quite as nicely. His work got done, it shouldn't matter how neat it was.
He snickered a bit, writing down her answers. If the teachers had expected praise from either of them, they were in for a surprise. "Art?" Red prompted before making a dismissive noise. "Never mind. You ask some of them then." The grimm scooted back a bit in his chair, careful to keep from sitting on his tail.

"Fine, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Jess asked, and wrinkled her nose at the questions. Ugh. They were stupid and pointless. "Ugh, I don't know yet." Her mutation made her self conscious and she didn't know where to work or what to do and the question just made her angry. As if it was mocking her. "Not even sure I want to go to college. Do you want to go to college?" She asked, more unprompted but ehh, it wasn't as if she couldn't add to the questions. Maybe make it a bit more interesting or something.

"I'm gonna be the alpha of a big pack!" Red declared. Ever since they'd briefly gone over grimm history in class at his last school, he'd known what he'd wanted to do. He wanted to be the leader for a group, with his brother amidst them. When he'd been taken from home and put into the academy, he'd thought he'd never get to have that. The only grimms he'd ever seen had been him and his brother, and his mother, not that he wanted her in his pack.
The numerous grimms he'd met at the academy gave him hope that his plan was more likely to happen. . . even if most of them didn't actually want to be in his pack.
"College?" Red scoffed. "Why would I need to go to college?" He shrugged and scribbled down her answer. "College is for like if you wanna be a teacher or doctor or something, isn't it?" It was the only thing he could think of that would need so much school. "Once I'm done with school I'm not gonna want to take more. I'm not crazy." Looking at the next couple questions, he made a disgusted noise. Favorite color, favorite food, favorite familiar. These were all the same questions they'd been asked a million times already it felt like. Skipping all of them, he looked for the next interesting question.
"What kind of things do you do for fun?" That was acceptable, he supposed.

Jess tipped her head and gave a disbelieving snort but scrawled the answer in it though to her it made no sense. Who would pack with this scrawny kid ... though what was a pack or an alpha. She put down the answer though and left it as it. "How many people are needed to make a big pack?" She tapped her finger thinking about it. "Music and finger paints and well physical things I guess." Jess liked being alone but also liked loud screaming music, the way the paint smelled as she spread it on the paper, and the feel of her body moving during gym.
