Hadaya really liked the little reading corner near the front desk of the library. He was not too far away from Tony and Dogby over at the front, when they were not shelving or walking the library itself, and he had his own comfortable area that was strategically designed for cat access. Under the two plush reading chairs where patrons could sit and chat were pillows and bowls set out fresh every day for Guardian Cats.
The books on the shelves in the reading nook went all the way down to the floor, with the ones on the lowest shelf tailored to the cats that came there the most. Hadaya had two books there that he was in the middle of, though he was not reading either of them at the moment.
Instead, he had gone into the kid's section and found a cute picture book to look at. He was perfectly good at reading and liked much more difficult books, but sometimes he just wanted to look at cute pictures with simple, sweet stories attached.
What was the problem in that? Sure, they were written for kids, but normal books were written for humans, anyway. So, regardless of his age, he was not the right crowd for either book, which meant he could read anything he wanted without shame.
Right?
Lounging on a pillow, almost upside down with his head tilted just enough to look at the pictures of the book propped up at an angle in front of him, he lazy scratched at his tummy and purred contentedly.
This was so much better than getting into fights or being trapped in a monument.

Lithiasaur Wan is bark, in case you needed to know! XD Hope this is okay! Itsuki had never been to the library before, but word on the street said one Mister Tony was someone they could trust, and put food out for Guardian Cats, should they need to stop in and rest. Ash mentioned he was a Knight in disguise, which endeared the feline to him that much more. It was one thing to be aware of Guardian Cats and the war in the city, and something else entirely to be such an avid ally. While Itsuki didn’t need to rest, the lure of being lazy for just a few hours while his charges were busy was incredibly appealing! Well, plus… meeting this Mister Tony sounded like a good idea. The scent of dog wasn’t overpowering, but was noticeable to Mauvian senses. The dog was the little bread loaf kind - Corgi? - and he or she seemed friendly! Itsuki padded into the library following a patron on their way in and squeezed through the brief opening in the door. It was sunny outside, a lovely day by all accounts. Mister Tony must’ve been the lovely man at the counter, who had some books in his arm and was greeting some of the patrons. When most were out of earshot, Itsuki poked his head around the main library desk where Tony stood and greeted him quietly. “Konnichiwa, Tony-sama~” Tony was older than Itsuki expected, though he didn’t know much about Knights. Perhaps their age range was greater than senshi? Either way, Tony-sama and Doggie were very friendly. “Konnichiwa, Wanwan~” The lilac point had never met a Corgi before. They were bigger than he imagined, but definitely just like a bread loaf with legs. She was cute! “Thank you for opening the library to us~” Giving Tony a bow, the cat trotted off in search of water and pillows for well-overdue laziness. Poking his head underneath one of the table, Itsuki found someone else was already occupying the space. Without patrons nearby, he felt more comfortable in saying hello. “Oh! Konnichiwa, Neko-san~ Are you here visiting Tony-sama too?”

Tony was used to little voices calling to him at this point, and knew instinctively to look down when he did not immediately see anyone addressing him from human height. He smiled at the Guardian Cat, not recognizing him but deciding it was probably one of Hadaya's friends. Or any of the other Guardian Cats that came to hang out in the cool, peaceful library.
"Hello there," he said, nodding his head at being addressed in Japanese. Languages were not his strong point, but he at least knew the basics. Dogby looked curious, but generally too sleepy at this time of the day to get up and investigate. She would definitely pay them a visit once her nap was done, though.
"You're very welcome, and of course you can come here any time you'd like."
He watched the cat go off, shaking his head and patting Dogby to tell her she was a good girl for being so lazy. He took it to mean that she was well trained.
"Hi!" Hadaya said, as soon as Itsuki finished his greeting. He got up and moved over to the other Mauvian, sniffing him curiously and then giving him a friendly head butt in greeting. "I come here a lot. Camelot is my senshi's... boyfriend's dad." He looked confused for a moment as he thought about it. "So that kind of makes him my grandad! I wouldn't tell him that, though. I think he'll get upset. My name is Hadaya!"

Itsuki didn't expect a head bump, but appreciated it nonetheless. One was returned to Hadaya. "Tony-sama is your grandad? Ohhh... Oji-sama~ I'll be sure not to call him that, though. He probably would feel too old. Who is your senshi, Hadaya? Oh, my name is Itsuki! My senshi is Sailor Themisto! Have you met him before? I also claim Lacrimosa as mine, oh, and a few Pages too! Do you know a lot about Pages, Hadaya?" The lilac point assumed Tony did, being that he was Camelot, Knight of Earth, but from a Mauvian standpoint, Itsuki could use some more direction and advice. "I found two Saturn Pages that could use some help so I'm helping them! They're busy right now, though. Everybody is busy right now, so I thought I'd come by the library! The others told me about Tony-sama~ It's nice to have a safe place to rest in the city." After a few confident nods to himself, Itsuki noticed the book propped up from Hadaya to read, and the cushion he was resting on. "What are you reading, Hadaya-chan~?"

Hadaya looked delighted that he returned the head butt, though he took a moment to digest that he was actually a rather socially awkward cat and sometimes interacting with others was difficult at best. What if this new friend thought he was being too forward? What if he didn't?! That mess of thoughts made him turn bright red under his fur, thankfully only visible in the tips of his ears and the deeper color in his nose. He froze for a few moments, staring at Itsuki with very wide eyes until his brain clicked back into gear and he resumed, though a bit more carefully, his conversation. "Camelot doesn't mind being called old! I think he's used to it," he grinned broadly. "And he knows everything about knights! He tries to teach me but sometimes I... well. I try to listen. Navi is my Senshi, and she's marrying his son! Though I... don't think I was supposed to say that yet. Oh well!" He shuffled his paws against the floor, then shoved his book toward him so he could see the pictures he had been looking at. "I was reading about dragons. It hasn't been all that useful, though."

"Oh! Well, if Tony-sama doesn't mind being called old, then you can call him Jiji! It's a nickname in Japan, it means grandpa! I learned that on Rosetta Stone. I'm learning as much as I can! It's like another job, but I don't know much about dragons!" Nose deep into the book, Itsuki seemed really impressed. The announcement of an impending marriage gave the lilac point reason to start dancing on his toebeans in excitement. "Marriage! Really?? Tell them congratulations for me! That's sugoi~! Are you going to be in the ceremony, Hadaya-chan? I bet Jiji is very happy that his son is marrying your senshi. We should have a big party for them! Do you think they like sushi?" Padding his way over to where Hadaya was laying, Itsuki plopped himself down into the traditional Catloaf Position. "Hadaya-chan, tell me all about Jiji and your senshi~!"

Hadaya beemed with pride as he talked about his senshi and... well, a little less about her new fiance, but they were getting to be better friends too! Hadaya was certainly trying, and Nate did seem to be warming to him. Maybe he just accepted that Hadaya and Elle/Navi were inseparable, and he was just going to have to accept that.
Hadaya had never loved anything in his little kitty life as much as he loved his senshi.
"Jiji?! I will! I wonder if he'll know what that means?! Oh, I want to learn another language too! That sounds fun! But I sometimes think I don't even know this first one all that well."
He tilted his head to the side for a moment, thinking about that, then shrugged off any doubt and moved to wiggle closer to Itsuki and join him in cat loafing. Now they looked like the starts of a tray of bread rolls.
"Chaonis let me hold the ring when he proposed to Navi! Well, I guess I was sort of the hiding place for it, but still! Camelot loves them both so much, though I don't know if they've told him yet. Nathan says I'm a blabbermouth and I need to keep quiet so they can give him the news. I don't know what he means by that."
Hadaya wrinkled his nose, only wanting to talk about how happy the whole thing made him. Why would it ever be something bad? Still, he tried to do as he was told and was pretty sure he hadn't ruined things yet. Probably?

"Don't worry, Hadaya-chan! I can teach you~!" Puffing up his chest, Itsuki placed a paw upon it. "Itsuki-sensei, at your service~ Anata no sābisu de! That means at your service!" The lilac point wiggled with happiness and pride once he learned Hadaya was able to hold the ring during such an important event. A proposal! That's a big deal! It meant the Mauvian was trusted enough to be that heavily involved. Itsuki nodded along with Hadaya's explanation for secrecy. "I bet Chaonis-san wants to be the one to break the news, but keeping secrets can be hard. Maybe you can distract yourself with... with dragons!" Dragons were super cool and also very distracting. "What do you know about dragons, Hadaya-chan~?"

Hadaya looked excited, wiggling where he was crouched. he would have been swishing his tail around in interest if he had one, and instead had to settle for the Dogby method of just wagging his butt when he was excited about something. Of course, Dogby was a dog, and that was generally how they communicated.
Hadaya was not the best at being a cat, when it came down to it.
"I'm best FRIENDS with a dragon! There's one that lives under the library RIGHT NOW! I'm not lying, his name is Merlinite, and he's half youma, and he lives in the basement! He's the best, though, and we call him Dennis because that was his human name before he was turned into a half monster. Not that I think he is a monster, he's very nice. He wants to purify! I was hoping I could learn more about dragons, because he was hurt not too long ago and I wanted to help his wing heal. I don't think the books here are going to be that good though."
He sighed, all of his words just rushing out of his mouth in his excitement, until he fell abruptly quiet and looked a little defeated by his own speech.

Lithiasaur I TOOK FOREVER I'm sorry ;; "EHH!?" cried the fluffier Mau, almost in utter disbelief. There was a tiny bit of belief. But not much! "You're friends with a dragon!? Hadaya-chan, how did you do that? A real dragon!?" Itsuki's mouth slammed shut when his fellow Guardian explained Jiji had kept a half-youma Negaverse officer in the basement. This piece of information came as an utter shock to the lilac point, who thought Negaverse officers would have come to this dragon's rescue by now. Maybe they didn't like him very much? Not very good friends, that was certain! Tilting his head, Itsuki very much sympathized with wishing to help this half-dragon-youma-Dennis. "Have you tried Bandaids, Hadaya-chan? Hmm... how do you give medical attention to a dragon...?" He then realized that Hadaya had the right idea all along. Plopping himself down in front of the book Hadaya was so diligently studying, Itsuki started to study himself. "I will help too! Is Dennis a Western dragon? Probably, with a name like Dennis. I wonder what dragons eat... Oh! No no, we must figure out how to bandage his wing first! Hmmm..."

"Well, he's sort of like a person dragon. He's mostly person, but has a tail, and a wing, and horns and scaled hands and claws and... okay maybe he's not mostly person. Anyway, he's a youma, too, so he has to eat energy, but he hates doing that so I want to try and help him so he doesn't have to."
Plus, Camelot said that energy probably would not help with the wing now, and that all the damage that was left behind from the brutal attack would remain. They were scars, he said, but it seemed really unfair that not only was Merlinite forced to remain a dragon longer than he wanted, because he was too weak to try to purify, but now he lost his really cool wing.
Well, it was still there, it just didn't move any more.
"I guess when he purifies he won't have a wing any more," Hadaya said, with a sudden thought, "but what if it means one of his other legs... err... or arms... don't work right? I don't really know how it works at all."

Lithiasaur I think we can probably wrap soon! "Someone like Dennis should have pizza instead of energy!" Itsuki nodded fervently. This was a job for Mauvian ingenuity! And a little lot of Jiji magical purification powers. Itsuki continued to listen intently and study the book before the two cats. "I didn't know youma-parts could be removed from an agent, but... I also haven't looked at all the folders in the Headquarters computer..." he admitted, ears drooping in embarrassment. "I find something I like, then I read it, and then I get excited and... Well, I haven't read everything yet, but I've read a lot of it!" With a few more nods, Itsuki tapped his paws against the floor. "Maybe we should ask Jiji! Has he got a plan to fix Dennis?"

Hadaya looked curious, then determined and certain, when Itsuki suggested pizza as the heal all for Merlinite's worries. It did seem to make sense: he knew how much his senshi friends love pizza and he, of course, adored it when he could manage to get his paws on some. OF COURSE it would help heal the youma!
It was not information that would be found in a book, either. It was just a clever, thoughtful suggestion. Hadaya felt like it was an important one, though, and took very serious mental notes about bringing Merlinite a slice later. Hopefully, he would not eat it himself on the way.
But he probably would.
"He does have a plan! Uh. What are headquarters? Can I go there? I'd love to read what they have there, if it might help Dennis out! Camelot... Jiji would be so proud of me if I brought him useful information!" Hadaya grinned brightly, though his stomach began to growl loudly.
"Oh... uh. Maybe Jiji could get us some food, too."

Lithiasaur Fin! biggrin Sorry Jiji... "Uwah! You haven't been to Headquarters yet, Hadaya-chan? You have to go! We can be in our human form there and the magic dampening field makes sure nobody else can sense us! They also have workbenches and soft beds and air conditioning..." Paw to his chin, Itsuki could have spent hours detailing all the benefits of Mauvian Headquarters. Ash-denka hung out there too, which was a super mega ultra plus. Suddenly standing up (or rather, the Mauvian equivalent), Itsuki waved his arms around wildly. "Hadaya-chan! Maybe Headquarters has some more information about how to help Dennis-ryu-san! Maybe there's a specific kind of pizza he needs! You have to come with me, Hadaya-chan. I'll show you the way! Your senshi and Jiji would be so proud to know you're using the Headquarters computer to do research!" Itsuki moved to the edge of the table and poked his head out, spying Tony's shins and ankles moving about the front desk area of the library. "Jiji-sama~ I'm going to borrow Hadaya-chan! He has to see Mauvian Headquarters~ I'll have him back by dinnertime, I promise!" Little did Jiji know that Itsuki knew how to order pizza over the phone using his NekoCommu device...
