Name: Pavari
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Mmmmeeeehhh?
Weyr: Soon to be Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Soon to be Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Apprentice Artist
Physical Description: A bit on the taller side as women go, this stunningly tanned painter has a thick fall of dark brunette hair that reaches the center of her back and is either restrained into a tail or hangs loose in often salt stiffened wavey curls. Her strong features are actually quite elegant from her bright green eyes and gently sloping brows down to her somewhat crooked smile that all comes together to give her a charming look that can get her out of most scrapes or scrutiny she might encounter.
Personality: Pavari is a dreamer of impossible possibilities and a seeker of beauty and rough reality, she wants nothing more than to paint every mountaintop and every beach that Pern has to offer, while at the same time spinning and throwing her hands up on the dance floor that is life when the sun goes down. Don't try and stop her, she'll twist right out of your grasp when inspiration hits her and suddenly she's gone off on a wild trip from which she'll return with souvenirs and pieces of nature that you've never seen before. See this opalescent eggshell? I found it on a beach out near Monaco Bay when I was painting a dolphin and their handler. This satchel? It's filled with herbs and warding magic that I received when Susurinth and I helped a caravan get across a dangerous swamp to their destination.
Some of the tales may not be true, but who's going to argue that they aren't exciting when she's telling them, especially when she whips out a small canvas with a painting of the area she had just visited? Pavari has three young nieces back in Cove Hold that will quickly back her up by pointing out all the paintings she's gifted them over the past five turns. The world is curious to her and she's made it her duty to bring that curiosity to their lives and spark their imaginations so they can grow into wonderful adults. She wants that for everyone and if she can she'll bring the spark of her own imagination and joy to everyone she can touch. To know Pavari is to know the world through her eyes, for she’ll surely show it to any that wish to see it. Between paintings and fantastic stories of far off shores and the frozen wastes to the north and south of the continents, she will endeavor to bring the most fantastic part of Pern to those who wish to see it. Had she the patience as a youth she might have become a teacher, had she not impressed a dragon though she’d have never seen Pern as actively as she has and the young woman is wise enough to thank Susurinth for each experience she’s had while with her, as well as promising far more. Her lack of an ability to focus long enough to stay in one place for more than a few weeks, generally only held in place by her desire to paint whatever had drawn here there and experience the surroundings in that one area, makes seeing those she cares about a hard thing. Pavari will see her family once every few months and then bounce off to the next place like a storm blowing in and out quickly.
With the reappearance of Thread she's certainly had her fair share of scares and quick retreats, seen the destruction of green areas that she was painting and the horrors that thread has wrought across Pern. It is this that has left her with a desire to do more in helping fight this menace that is burning the beauty from the planet slowly and since her beloved Susurinth's first clutch came into the world in a rush of surprise and left them stranded under the lucky protection of Fort Weyr, the wild gold rider and her dragon have finally decided to settle into a Weyr as a home base and learn how to fight it so those like her nieces will have some wild places left to see on Pern when they get older.

Negative Trait List Lack of focus, Tells tall tales, Dislikes settling, Sudden
History: Eldest daughter and resident wild child of her family, Pavari was always running around Cove Hold finding new things and bringing them back to the joy of her younger siblings and exhaustion of her mother. Anything and everything could become a new experience or an art project and her mother was constantly having to clean out the room she shared with her younger sister when the two of them would fill it with 'exotic treasures' and paint the walls with the juice from berries. Pavari’s paintings, in particular, became much better as turns wore on and soon their entire home was painted in different colors with beautiful scenes and stories that bubbles up from her mind and out onto the walls. Her parents never stopped her creative streaks or did anything to staunch the flow of her curiosity, even if neighbors would often raise an eyebrow or attempt to judge their young daughter for her odd ways. They supported her and indeed all of their children in any pursuit they wished to follow and when the time came they helped to push Pavari and her curiosity from her first barrier of comfort and out into the heart of Pern. Sent to Fort Hold to apprentice, the girl faltered a bit upon seeing the differing landscape and how rigid the structure of society could be without her supportive parents there to help her, but she regained her fight with the calm hand of one master in particular. Her master taught her all there was to know of painting techniques and would show her things she could do to bring vibrancy and life to each painting so that it would tell the story she saw with her eyes. No matter what that story happened to be. The two would go on day trips at first, scouting out mountains and coasts for a new story, a new way to tell the tale of what they saw each time and she learned more and more as her mind and heart began to fill with dreams of traveling to every corner of Pern in order to bring back it’s hidden stories.
As she grew older her master would take her back to the southern continent, sometimes to a hold, sometimes slightly out into the less dangerous parts of the wilds. There were times that she would visit home and others that she would find an entirely new stretch of the continent that only dragon riders knew of and could take her. It was on one such attempted trip that they were called up short for what the rider promised was quite a surprise. Landing in the waypoint Weyr of Monaco Bay they were given the chance to watch as a hatching took place for a weyrless queen. Having been given the opportunity to paint the giant gold dragon was not at all one that either Pavari or her master could pass up and it came about that they settled in for the chance of a lifetime.
Though she had many questions about the standing children and what on earth was happening to the wiggling eggs that would require so many people, Pavari simply shrugged it off as “rider’s business” and focused solely on her painting until something distracted her from laying layers for the purple eyes of the gold. A boy on the sands began to cry as he knelt before a bright blue hatchling with eyes like two rainbows. Before she could help herself she threw her original canvas to the side and began to paint rainbows all over a new one, in eyes and in clouds, as tears running down from the boy's face. Rainbows everywhere until the entire canvas was filled with them and it was then, standing with a grin on her face and full of joy for the painting that the event had given her, that she heard her name echo through her own head.
Pavari, how can one resist such a mind full of rainbows and wonder? But why are you all the way back there where none can see your beautiful vision of the world? Stomping through the crowd gathered around the sands came a large gold hatchling with purple eyes that soon turned to the same rainbow colors that she had been painting all across the canvas and indeed all over herself in her rush. Flustered and surprised, her breath was taken away completely by the love the small hatchling pushed into her, love that seemed to make her glow from the inside out and right on the heels of it came a desire to explore the world. Though she did her best to stutter out that she hadn't been one of the ones intended to bond with her, that there were dozens other and why hadn't she picked any of them that had come here just to see her, the small gold shot her down instantly.
Pavarimine, you might have come to paint, but I came into this world looking for no one other than you. None of these other children see Pern through your eyes, will you show your Susurinth everything that you see? And that was that, there was nothing else to say.
While it was hard to say goodbye to her old life and her master, the older dragonriders that stayed in Monaco Bay were willing to teach the growing hatchlings all that they needed to know about dragons, between feeding, cleaning, oiling and bathing, flying and hopping Between they had all the lessons that they believed they might need. It was stifling to the teenage Pavari to stay in one spot for so long, but she and Susurinth were able to sneak down to the water every once in a while to pick up shells and anything else the waves might have brought to them that day. While it was explained briefly to her what life as a gold rider would be, there were no other gold riders or any that had been weyrling masters at other Weyrs there to teach her the exacts of it all and so her time there was shorter than it should have and her training somewhat incomplete, which was all she could expect from an otherwise abandoned waypoint. Once her gold was fully grown the pair took off to see the world, with only a single rolled up canvas painting of rainbows and a handful of shells as mementos of where Susurinth had been hatched.
Wind and imagination took the pair of them to the furthest reaches that Pern had to offer and they spent the next four years of their lives traveling, painting, experiencing, and living life to the fullest that they could. It was a whirlwind of fun that they brought home to Pavari's nieces each time they stopped by Cove Hold to see her family, stories of places the little girls had never been, souvenirs of things that would blow their minds, paintings to fill the walls beside all the others and love for all the weeks she had been gone and not seen them. Sky was the limit for them and she wanted her nieces to know that it could be for them as well. It wasn't until her fifth turn that Susurinth became headstrong and a bit grumpy one day that indeed seemed to last for a number of days until finally, one warm winter morning on the Southern Continent she attacked and blooded not one but two beasts and took to the skies above before Pavari had time to realize what was happening. Susurinth sang to all the male dragons of Pern to come and see her, come and chase and dance with her on such a beautiful morning. Pavari was thunderstruck and impressed by the display and the dragon that caught her.
Not knowing much about anything involving her gold's needs and wants when it came time to lay her clutch, Pavari certainly hadn't been expecting the random island but was certainly fortunate to have the support of Fort Weyr against the Thread she knew no way to fight herself. Since the eggs have hatched the pair intend to visit her family once more on Cove Hold, possibly permanent suntan in place, and then make their way over to Western Weyr, where the gold from Susurinth's first clutch will be growing and learning. It's her gold's hope that they learn together and Pavari's that they might be able to pay back the brave dragon riders that protected her for all those weeks on the island by learning to fly beside them.
Other: “Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." ~ Lewis Carroll
After plots with Pach this pair will still be going to Western to keep an eye on and stay near their hatchings there while staying in a LDR with Cordrath. Between the two of them they’ll split the clutch and stay at different Weyrs, but when her time to rise comes she’ll always call for her lovely gentleman first. Despite her location her babies will see quite a bit of her a both Weyrs.
DRAGON
Name: Susurinth
Age: 5
Color: Gold
Size: 44'
Physical Description: As bright in color as the personality of her chosen rider is, Susurinth is delicate in features and longer of body than height. Her wings help to make up for that length with their terrific span that Pavari says can block out the sun if she flies directly overhead. Susurinth's delicate pattern that touches in random spots across her cannot always be seen from far away, but up close she is utterly stunning to gaze upon and her eyes that always tend towards blue or purple bring it all together.
Personality: This gold was born to be a mother and it has nothing to do with how attached or not attached she will be with her eggs whenever she clutches. The reality is that she wants what is best for everyone and can be the very calm voice of reason in any heated situation. It is this naturally relaxed nature that makes her such a good match for her high energy rider and her ability to be open minded about everything that happens to them goes a long way to bridging the gap when they differing opinions on a matter. Susurinth is extremely flexible and when something catches her attention she will throw all of her energy into it in a way that matches her rider so perfectly that it's hard to tell where one starts and the other ends. There are certainly times where they do not have matching ideas for things but if push comes to shove she will often give in to Pavari's wishes even if she's not interested because she likes to see harmony and knows that it will absolutely be interesting no matter what they do.
In fact that burning desire to do more and more for her rider can often come off being entirely too altruistic and it's these times when her rider has to force her to slow down and think about her own needs before the two of them push too far together. It can be caused by being far too caring and rather impractical when it comes to the gold chasing after anything that catches her attention and being reined in is the only thing to keep her from digging herself into ground. That aside she's incredibly dedicated to her rider and will listen to her when she makes suggestions just as Pavari will listen to her calm suggestions when the gold sees something important or that needs changing.
Susurinth’s very first flight was won by a true gentleman that hailed from Benden, a bronze that spoke sweetly and chased her with care. With each acrobatic flight she will take in the future the gold’s attention will be in the gentlemen of the group, those far likelier to fly the kind and mellow queen. Her flights are a dizzying acrobatic display of dancing and only the best suited dancer shall catch her after a lengthy flight. If her temperament is calmer despite her state than some of the fiery queens that Pern has produced it is because her gentler nature can not fathom a dangerous flight that may harm those so kind to chase after her with their sweet words.
As to the color of her suitors, well that matters little to Susurinth. A blue with a kind and respectful manner will certainly rank among their larger bronze and brown companions, especially should those flying alongside them be crass and undignified. But alas, her long flights mean that her sweet chasing blues rarely have the stamina to complete the flight and she’ll sing and layer kind words to those that fall out all too soon.
EDIT: WHUPS, I made Susurinth way bigger than I meant to. XD That 47 was supposed to be 44, I'm sorry I didn't catch it sooner!
