Ciel lay in her hospital bed. She was already feeling better after her trip to her wonder and her visit from Carlee. She was still thinking about the fight however.
While she could logically admit to herself Painite was much more experience having already been a general for some time when Hyperborea was just a page. Her heart was telling a different story, she couldn't shake the feeling that if she just trained harder maybe she could have done more in that fight maybe she could have save that man.
Then she heard a knock at her door. "Come In." She brightened up when she saw Tony walk into the room. "Sault Tony." But then she frown he had a wound on his neck. That is not a injury you got doing mundane things. "What happened?" She asked indicating to his neck.

Tony poked his head into the room, smiling and shuffling in with a small bouquet of flowers in his hand. He put them, in their vase, on the table next to the bed and moved to stand next to the bed. He had a scarf conveniently around his neck, not just to look fashionable and stay warm, but to cover the bandage left from Painite's spear attack.
He'd gotten a little careless, but he still came out better than Hyperborea had.
She, of course, immediately noticed the wound and he winced.
"Painite got a jump on me when I was talking to her. After your fight with her, but she was not trying to kill me. I'm not sure what she was doing. Attacking out of fear, like a cornered animal, mostly. You got the worst of her rage. What were you doing, fight with her? She's hurt you before, you know how dangerous she can be."
He frowned at her, worried like a father would be and unable to keep from a little parental scolding because of it. It was only because he cared about her, and he did not want to show up too late to one of their fights in the future.

She sighed, of course it was Painite, she wasn't even surprised. But at least she hadn't been trying to kill him, just like she couldn't bring herself to kill Hyperborea during their fight.
She withered a bit under his fatherly frown. "I've already been yelled at by my grandparents." She said trying to defend herself.
"I just...Painite seems to thrive in fear, she is comfortable causing fear and pain in others. I can't give her that victory, if I shy away from her she will always win and she will never change. But even then I wasn't strong enough she murdered a man right in front of me and I couldn't save him. I couldn't even save myself." She said gripping her bed sheet.
"I'm a knight but still I'm too weak to save anyone." She lamented. She wanted so much to be like Camelot strong enough to save anyone, a true hero and knight.

Tony watched her, expression softening. He could tell that she was upset about more than just losing (or winning? it was hard to tell) a fight.
"Chaos makes monsters of many people, if they let it consume them. Literally and figuratively. Painite is one of those that seem more enveloped by it than others. I understand that you feel like letting her win would give her power, but keeping yourself safe is never a forfeit. It's the most important thing: your life is the only way you can help people. You give that to her, through pride or stubborn determination, what will you have accomplished? Just to make a point? She could have permanently injured you, not just killed you."
He shook his head, taking a breath from his lecture and moving to touch his hand to her arm reassuringly.
"I know it's hard. I know we want to save everyone. Sometimes we just can't. What she did to that man was not your fault. You're not weak, you know that. Knowing when to fight is just as important as knowing how to."

"Your right as usual, mon amie." She said patting his hand as she slowly got up. She made sure not to tear any of her stitches.
"But at the same time it can't be just you or the other royals fighting her and others like her. I have to find a way to become strong enough to fight her safely. After all she isn't a general queen, our power difference isn't so far." She said resolutely.
Then a thought struck her. "Camelot, will you train me? I know I can't be as strong as you but if I train with you maybe I can at least become strong enough to stop generals like her without ending up hospitalized." She asked looking into the tall man's eyes.

"Should you be getting up?" he asked, worried. He moved to follow her just in case, not wanting her to fall over or pull anything in her back. he'd seen the injury Painite left her with, and it was not something to mess around with.
It was a cheap shot, of course, but that was generally how Painite liked to fight.
"I know. You're right. You should be able to defend yourself. And I can help you do that. To the best of my ability, anyway. Some Generals are just devious, and their ability to teleport can really help them get some wicked attacks in. I can help you train. I have a friend, a half-youma, who can help as well."
So long as she did not really try to hurt him, of course. Merlinite was one of the good guys.
"Though, I think my name is Tony in a place like this, right?" he smiled, knowing no one was listening, but wanting to be careful just in case. It was impossible to know who was powered, and what side they were on. Even a nurse wandering in to check vitals could be a General.

"It's ok I'm already feeling better, I went to my wonder yesterday and healed up a bit." She reassured the man.
She smiled. "Merlinite right. That would be great. Teleportation is a dangerous ability, At least with starseed pulling we have transcendence to defend against it but teleportation is hard to defend against, only have reflex and intuition."
"Then if its ok with you when I'm healed up I'll come find you and Merlinite." She said with a determined nod.
She blushed. "Ah oh sorry, Tony." He was right she should be more cautious even if it was a safe space.
"But it helps my Grandfather already paid alot of money for the hospital to not talk about me or any of guest here." She reassured him

Tony smiled and nodded is head, putting his hands in his pockets. He was much more relaxed now that he knew she had healed a bit and was doing better than when he last saw her. Of course, it was hard not to be considering she'd been very bad off the last time he saw her. Getting stabbed would do that to a person.
"You'll find us at the library, as usual. Merlinite won't be living there for long, once we find him a new place, but he'll continue to patrol with me there. Oh, and he prefers to be called Dennis, when you talk to him."
It was better than using his Negaverse title, as he did not really feel like the general he was supposed to be. He didn't feel like a dragon, either, and really wanted to be a Knight instead.
"Well, that was very kind of your grandfather. I'm not too worried about it, I know no one was in the hall when I came over. In any case, when you're well, we can go to my Wonder and train safely there. It's easier that way, I find, as my aura won't draw any unwanted attention."
He could not turn off the beacon that was a Royal Knight power level, after all. He sometimes envied the fourth stages that could still use their third rank, to keep themselves hidden or at least a bit more inconspicuous in public.

She nodded "I'll keep that in mind." She promised the older knight. She wished more than anything though that she had a wonder name to call the half youma man, she was sure he probably felt the same.
"He tries to help me where he can, I have to fight to keep him from flying across the ocean back to Destiny City." She said with a chuckle.
She nodded "I would imagine a transcended knight, a royal knight, and a half youma all in the same place would draw alot of unwanted attention. Beside I would love to see Camelot again it's been too long." She agreed smiling at the older man.

Tony chuckled, nodding his head and smiling. Their last meeting, at least powered, had not been under the best circumstances, so it would be nice to catch up in peace. his Wonder was the best place for that, since only people he took there could really bother them.
"Well, I'll let you get back to resting. You can always find me at the library, whenever you need me, or of course send me a message."
He moved over to her to give her a hug, reassuring and warm as always. He was worried about her, and though he knew she was more than capable of taking care of herself, he really just wanted to protect her so things like this did not happen again.
But as long as the Negaverse was out there, Painite in particular, these things would most definitely keep happening.
"Feel better, okay?" He scooted to the door, waving over his shoulder again and pausing for a second, still worried, before feeling silly and finally leaving the room.
