Caedus was not usually easily found; he did not lurk where just anyone could stumble across him, nor did he allow anyone to approach him while he was off guard.

At least, if he could help it.

Hyperborea was no exception, though he was a bit surprised by how forward she was. Caedus did not give off an aura in the same way that she did, and he regarded her with a bit of uncertainty.

“I am Caedus,” he confirmed, but did not relay any information that would indicate if he remembered her or not. He did not like taking hands; it was a gesture he had been uncomfortable with. He didn’t like being touch.

And, yet, he reluctantly held out his hand for her.

“I will offer my time. What do you need?”

Caedus hesitated for a few seconds as he tried to process how he wanted to respond to her. “Your gift is very kind,” he prefaced, and there was no doubt that he seemed entranced and touched by the gesture.

And then, guilty, because he could not answer her.

He had reached to accept the crystal cautiously, and he turned it over in his hand as he examined it. He looked like he was ready to hand it back to her if she was displeased with him.

“I am afraid I do not know that I have information to share. What I know is ancient. I can answer what I can, but...I know as much as what is out there now as you, I think. There was life, when I was alive. Many worlds. Many magics. But I might be misunderstanding what you are asking. What phenomenon have you seen?”

Caedus still seemed disappointed that he didn’t have any meaningful answers.

“I cannot say with any certainty,” he prefaced, “But I know that there are many types of magic in the universe. It could be possible that some force here on Earth, or in your city, is the source of such a thing. It is already an anomaly that so many Senshi and Knights have arrived here,” he suggested.

It was a thought, an idea, but not really an answer.

He could speculate on it but he was honest in his ignorance. “I can only assume that there is something special about this world that might be responsible. I am sorry that I cannot give you more. I have heard that strange things happen often in Destiny City. Year round. Perhaps what you find reflects what you are looking for? ...If you find scary things, during a scary holiday, perhaps it is because you expect that? I do not know, I am sorry. Earth has a fair share of strange things, though. I will think on it. But if you find answers, I hope you will share them with me, too.”
