After the mess in that land called Jauhar, Pruu had been more than ready to head back home. The meeting had left her angry and confused, and being on foreign soil had her hyper alert to her surroundings at all times. It had been exhausting. However, her return home had brought only some relief. She had taken a short nap, and then was awake far sooner than she would have liked.
To burn off the uncertain energy, she went to her favorite place; the training grounds. Here was a place of the familiar. Here, she could let her blades express the frustration she felt.
One of the fresh targets was covered with slashes and nicks by the time Pruu felt herself relaxing into the training. Home was truly where her heart was, and she would do anything to protect it.

Akel had not gone to the mainland when the others had gone. She had refused to leave her mother tree to deal with an Alkidike problem. Instead she stayed home and made sure that things ran smoothly. Now she was training. Or.. trying to. The girl her mother had pushed onto her was tagging along. Not that Akeldama knew why. She was using a spear and the other girl had opted for the bow. They really didn't need to practice in the same area. It would have been better had she parted ways earlier that day. Still, she was determined to get her full workout in and so she did her best to ignore the other Elarians. Her spear moved with such precision now that she could easily cut something with it. With nothing else to do while her sisters were gone she'd dominated the field and took up the most time with targets. Even now it was clear she had been there a while since her target looked like a mottled log long left to the bugs and her skin was dripping with sweat.

Relieved to feel a little more like herself again, Pruu took a moment to look around. Others were training as well, and it was heartwarming to see. True sisters working and training to strengthen their community. They only had each other, after all. Perhaps it would be good to do a little training with one of the others as well... Giving those around her another look, her gaze settled on Akeldama. Akel was and Elarian through and through. She was training hard, getting stronger, and always improving. Pruu had much respect for Akel. She cocked her head at the girl using the bow and arrows nearby, but dismissed her as being separate as she made her approach. Hopefully, Akeldama wasn't getting ready to stop for the day... "Akeldama. If you are willing, could we train together? It looks as though you have exhausted your target today."

She was doing what she could to ignore everyone really, but then she heard someone say her name and she gave pause for a moment. Blinking she turned her head to look at Pruu. For the first moment all she did was stand there as her chest moved with her breathing. "Train?" Akel looked at her target and offered a small nod of agreement. She had pretty well killed it. The girl with the bow stepped forward and moved close to Akeldama. "We can train together Akeldama." She was trying more or less to be noticed as more than a tagalong. It gained Akel's attention for a second and she looked at the girl near her. "Tecca, we trained yesterday and it didn't go very well." More to the point it was.. well pointless. Akeldama had a spear not a bow and arrows.

Nodding back, she turned to seek out another target for them to use. Her head turned back at the voice of the other girl though, head tilting slightly. Tecca... She knew of Tecca, but did not actually know much about her. She looked between the pair, watching Akeldama curiously. Akel did not seem impressed with Tecca. However, Pruu had no wish to get in the way of anyone training. "You could train with us as well, if you wish. However, you might have better results training with someone else who uses the arrows, as it is close combat I seek."

When Pruu mentioned close combat Akel looked at her then back at Tecca. "You should practice your aim since you didn't do very well yesterday." She nodded at the other girl then moved toward Pruu. "Close combat? Well, we'll have to see just how close you can get." She made a point to look at her spear. All she had to do was keep Pruu at a distance and she could win easily. Akel offered up a smirk to the challenge she issued. "Did you want to start first?" As she spoke she rolled her shoulders and gripped her spear a bit more loosely than before. The extra fabric that was hanging from her top was gathered up and used to wipe her face before anything was started.

Pleased to see Akel guide the girl to a more appropriate session of training, Pruu turned her focus to preparing for the spar. She shook out her hands before grabbing the handles of her blades and grinned back. "If you do not wish someone to get close, then perhaps you should stick with training Tecca," she teased back. Crouching slightly with blades poised, she considered the offer before nodding. "I will." One of the hardest things about such a spar was that she had almost no element of surprise to pass the barrier the spear created. The challenge also made it more fun though. Pruu darted forward, and then to one side. Her first attack was straightforward, meant to test the waters rather than actually hit anything.

Tecca hadn't moved, a frown on her face as she watched Akeldama move to train with Pruu. Jealousy was written all over her face since their mothers had paired them together and not Pruu. Akel smirked at the other Elaria and watched her as she moved. It was fairly easy to follow her movements and when the attack came all she had to do was take a step back and swing her spear head to the side to tap the blades away. After doing so she took two steps forward and shifted her spear so that she was under Pruu's wrists and popped it up for a flat sided smack in an attempt to get her to drop her weapons.

Pruu noticed that Tecca was still standing nearby, lips pressing slightly. Who was this to ignore Akel's suggestion and just stand there? After her blades received the initial nudge, Pruu saw her chance for a risky move. When Akel stepped forward, Pruu did as well. One hand dropped a blade at the tap and reached instead to grab to pole of the spear so that she could attempt to step passed the head and close the distance in order to swing her other blade at Akel's shoulder.

"Akel!!" Tecca cried out in a worried tone as Pruu moved in closer. Akeldama heard the cry but didn't bother to look at Tecca as she was too busy grinning at Pruu to do so. The short haired Elaria did move slightly to the side to avoid the blade that was still being held but she also forced her spear to move with her. She brought the shaft of it up and prepared it to connect with Pruu's face. One good hit with the cypress piece and er opponent would be knocked silly if not unconscious.

Pruu's focus remained on Akel, though a flicker off irritation did go through her mind. Tecca was doubting someone's abilities, and she wasn't sure whose... Her grip on the spear was just enough to follow its movements. Thanks to that, she was able to only barely dodge the sudden move, her eyes close enough to see the grain of the wood as it passed her head. Needing to keep close, she dropped down as the weapon went up, grabbing her fallen blade while the other shot around for Akel's side, her whole body following the movement.

Akel was a little disappointed that the spear didn't connect but she was impressed with the movements of her opponent. When her weapon was released by Pruu she followed the girl's movements and noticed that she was going for the other sword. It appeared that she needed them both to be efficient. However, when she saw the path the one blade was going she took a step back and moved her spear to the side to take the blow from the sword. After that she moved back another few steps to keep that distance in order for the more dangerous end of her weapon to be used.

Pruu let out a short breath. The distance had grown between them again. She had both of her blades again, but at the cost of giving Akel time to back up and make the spear more dangerous again. She would have to remember that. Maybe it was time to put some extra time into training with just one blade? Why would she ever use just one blade though? She held back to circle Akel slowly, looking for an opening. "By the way, did anything worth noting happen while we were gone to Jauhar? I have not actually had the chance to catch up with anyone here yet."

"Mm, yes. There was an invasion of glowy eyed freaks, but don't worry.. I took care of them." Akel made sure that Pruu could see her expression and note the sarcasm there. Once she was finished joking with her Akel moved so that her spear head was thrust forward at Pruu's middle. The move was sharp and precise. If it did hit it would likely knock the wind out of her or worse. "All was quiet, I assure you." Akeldama had found it boring but at the same time she was grateful that nothing serious had happened. There would not have been enough bodies to defend Elzira if there had been an incident.

Brow cocking, Pruu smirked and shook her head. "I have little doubt that if they did try to pull something so insane as invade our home, you would have no trouble removing them of their lives," she assured. She spun to avoid the spear, but it still caught her side. She let out a grunt with a wince, feeling the pain shoot along her side. "I am.. glad to hear this," she said with a short gasp, regaining her breath. Being knocked off center, she spun into her new direction of momentum the hit made and swung her blade at Akel's forearm and hand.
