It’s a shame I can’t safely set up a sweet sound system for training, Nix reflected as he sat on the corner of a tallish building one beautifully clear (if still rather cold) night, green frog boots swaying lightly below him, hanging out into the car-filled abyss below.

He liked the tops of buildings for training nights because it felt properly…superhero to be bounding across rooftops. And that it was usually secluded, of course. People don’t often come on the roof late at night, though if they did it was easy enough to get away.

There were a few possibilities for tonight’s training that Nix was kicking around as he sat there, for he knew at least one person would be joining him! Always nice when somebody came along…it happened semi-frequently, but still, made him feel very pleased. Always better to feel like you’re contributing than just being lost and confused all the time.

Tonight’s Senshi friend was Naos, and he didn’t really know too much about the guy, all told. But they had agreed to meet up here oh, in just a moment, he concluded by inspecting his phone for a moment. When he did end up sensing the approach of a friendly aura, he was happy to see that he wouldn’t actually need to move to another spot to be seen on approach, so he stayed there, legs swaying, a cheery grin spread across his face.

“Hi!” Nix replied with a grin and a wave. “That’s right, I’m Nix!” he nodded once. “Niceta meetcha!” he hopped up to his feet in a single motion, and bounced once on his toes. “It’s trainin’ time! Uhm…” His excited look shifted to a slightly sheepish one for a brief moment. “I think I forgot to ask when we talked before, but…was there anything specific you wanted to train to do?”

He started tapping the fingers on one hand as he listed off possibilities. “Some people like to focus on just moving around…running, jumping, all that stuff, or we can practice fighting—I’m no expert, but having someone to practice with that isn’t gonna stab you in the face…or that can’t jump on top of buildings…always helps. Or we can practice doing stuff with your senshi magic. Finding new ways to use it and all that.”

He paused, considering. “There’s other stuff we could do too, I suppose, but those are the big ones.”

Nix rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Lotta the senshis I've trained with are pretty new...a bunch of 'em hadn't even tried to see how much they could jump when we first met up. You've, uh, probably figured that out already, huh?" He grinned at Naos, briefly thinking about how different their uniforms were--Naos' outfit was something he'd consider wearing to school, while his own, well...as much as he liked it, it wasn't something to wear about town subtly.

"So, how's about we practice our fighting skills a bit? Or have a race--or both!" He suggested with a grin. "Maaaybe not at the same time, though. Racing up and down buildings is lots of fun, but I think we might break some windows if we had a fighting race."

“Years?” he echoed, eyebrows raising. “Wow. Way longer than me…” He lightly touched his own face and asked, “Were those fights how you got, uh…that scar?”

He nodded his head in agreement to a fight. “Yeah, a good superpowered sparring match is always good!” He glanced around, to confirm that nothing had changed to make this not a suitable place for that, and nodded again. “I’m not really to worried if other senshis know who I am, personally,” he admitted, “But I understand if you wanna be extra safe about it.”

Truth be told, there weren’t actually too many who knew his real identity…it just didn’t come up, most of the time. Except when working on losing a pursuer through the city, since the best way was to power down, in his opinion.

He hopped back, and assumed a bit of a fighting pose, grin still on his face. “Shall we, then?”

"Ohh, that sounds rough," Nix said. "I've been lucky...I lasso'd a youma once, and only got a bit scraped up..."


He saw Naos make his move, and waited a split second before stepping to the side to dodge the punch. As he moved, he also tried to push Naos' arm, to knock him a bit off balance.

The kick swung around at Nix, and he responded by taking the brunt of the hit with his green gloves, a big grin on his face. “Hey, not bad!” He enthused, even as he took a step back from the force.

“I’ll bet you can’t tag my frog!” He declared as he resumed a proper stance, and tapped the frog brooch that made up his little bow. He also made a bit of a “come at me” gesture for good measure.
