Mai had even agreed to come watch him and take care of him during that week he would be lain low, a fact she absolutely loved as it was a turn around from when they were younger and he had to watch her. He wasn't sure how he actually felt about it as he was supposed to be the unphasable older brother. However he couldn't ask his men to see him in such a state and there was no one else he trusted to watch him other than Mai. Truthfully he would miss the increased stats, they came in handy when he had to throw his might around but the trouble that came with them wasn't worth it. He would just train and gain some of that skill back in a natural way.
Of course when he saw what to drink he hesitated. It smelled somewhat horrible and he normally found that things tended to taste like what they smelled. Unfortunately in this instance he would be correct. He almost felt like he would throw up the solution but it always stayed down. The next few days where filled with his body shivering and being constantly cold. There was an utter sense of weakness and tiredness that left him pretty much holed up in his bed.
Mai was a trooper through the whole thing and kept him company talking and showing off her projects and bringing him food. They talked about their happy memories during childhood, memories of when the two of them were both in academy and other whimsical times. They talked a good deal about the cafe, Mai actually wanted to start working there part time, and about Kingston and Ren. Mai tried to get him to open up about his love life but he was pretty sure he was successfully able to deflect her... he was pretty sure.
Finally the fog lifted and he started having more energy. He was getting some what used to foul medicine and had definitely put a significant dent in his reading material. In fact after the seventh day, which was the last he was suddenly really hungry... really really hungry.
" Hey Mai, you think we could go out for steak and potatoes. Pretty sure I could each their biggest size" he asked. He felt... normal again. Finally he could push that night behind him and truly start moving forward. Boy were a lot of people going to be in for a surprise.
