He would never say that he regretted being reunited with Mangguo.... but she could be, how to put it...
"Come on, come on, come on, Ren! The day's a-wasting~"
Exhausting.
When Renshu had woken up this morning, it was with the assumption that he would have a pleasant day off. No working, no communicating, just a nice, relaxing day-in with Mangguo. He should have known that the little jackal wouldn't think the same. In fact, she had insisted on the opposite, willfully ignoring his sputtered words
Now the two of them were wandering down one of the many caverns. They couldn't go outside, unfortunately, with the weather the way it was, and so they were stuck wandering about inside. Luckily for him, they hadn't come across anyone yet, but with Mango's yipping, it was only a matter of time.
The jackal, meanwhile, was ecstatic to have a new place to explore. New things to smell, new people to meet - why, this place was great! And so shiny, so many interesting things to see.
Now if only she could coax Ren into coming out of his hole more often. He'd said that he wanted to meet people, become more friendly with the lions of his pride, but getting him to do it was another matter entirely.
Mangguo had never been one to sit around and wait though. So she had taken to dragging him around everywhere with gusto.

Opalessence stared out at the rain beyond the caverns with a kind of solemnity, wishing it would stop. The open air was less stifling than these caverns, full of pride-mates she didn't know. Speaking of-- One pale ear twitched as she caught the sounds of another, or two. She craned her neck to look over her wing-marked shoulders. Were they coming this way? If she got up now, could she make her escape? It wasn't that she didn't like others, or didn't want to get to know them. It was just.... Others were complicated. And she was awkward, and prone to social anxieties. At least in a group she could get away with being the pretty little thing, the wallflower, because others could be interesting, but so, sooooo complicated.

Mángguo was skipping in zig-zags as she bounced ahead of her uneasy companion. Someone had to be cheerful and approachable, and it certainly wasn't going to be him. It was as she was in mid-air that she realized that she could hear the rain outside more clearly. Ooo, they must be close to one of the entrances! She wanted to go bounce in a puddle!
Ignoring the shout from her companion, the jackal tore off towards the sound, yipping excitedly as the light from outside became visible, and then practically burst out of the tunnel before tumbling into a nearby puddle with a loud splash.
Meanwhile, Ren huffed as he ran to catch up to his friend, and got to the entrance just in time to witness her dive into the aforementioned water. Letting out a sigh, the male watched with amusement and exasperation as the jackal rolled around on the ground. She was going to be soaked after this, something he was sure she was going to dislike, but oh well. Maybe it would mean she'd be willing to just curl up and take a nap afterwards.
He was about to sit down when he finally realized that they weren't alone. Crap, there was someone here, and she'd witnessed that entire debacle. Ears curling back bashfully, Renshu looked down at his paws with wide eyes. He wasn't... very good at meeting people. Deciding to plop himself down, he glanced anywhere but at her at first, and then slowly slid his eyes over to the white lioness.
She was... really pretty. Really, really pretty, and seemed to glow like the crystals he studied so thoroughly. Tail curling around his stomach, Ren looked away again. He... he had made it his goal to be a little more social, and who knew how long Mango would be at it.
Shifting a bit, he took a deep breathe and then piped up quietly, "Hello." He'd never had the loudest of voices, but to him, it felt like his voice was echoing around them. He cleared his throat shyly, "Uh, sorry if we disturbed you. She's.... excitable."
