Evangeline was bored. Not just bored but BORED. Her wings shifted irritably matching her discomfort. She looked out the window- it looked like a nice day- and maybe there could be something fun to do out there.......With a sigh she headed for the great outdoors.
She found herself near the playground, beside the tallest play structure. She kicked at the loose filling that the playground pit offered feeling discomforted and not knowing why. She wanted to do something FUN. and her wings......they felt so light but achey as though she needed to stretch.
With a yawn and a huge stretch of her wings her back bowed and she looked up to the top of the play structure....and saw an unusual dark shape.
"Hey! Is someone up there?" She called out.

Sphinx had energy to burn. Her siblings were all busy, so she was on her own for something fun to do. She had gone outside and just... existed. She had tried playing on the swings but it was no good. She couldn't get high enough. So she started climbing. She climbed on the swing set, up the slide, on the plastic castle-like structure, whatever she could. She had jumped off everything, but it just wasn't high enough. Her next endeavor was a tree, and she had climbed as high as she could, and jumped onto the slide's roof, but couldn't hold her balance. She heard someone say something as she slipped and fell, landing on the ground in front of a strange freshling. Sphinx spit some sand as she got up, brushing herself off.
"Hi!" She was dirty, and her knee was bleeding, but the hybrid didn't seem to notice.

Evangeline's eyes went wide as the shape she saw began to fall and knowing better than to try and catch a falling person she stepped back, using her feet to guard the hard edge of the playground, She hovered anxiously as the freshling stood, spit sand and dusted themself off. Evangeline was impressed. She disliked being dirty, and wasn't quite as adventurous as the other.........and was their knee bleeding?! She pointed at their knee- " You, um.....appear to be leaking....? Oh and Hi? " As she said hello she dropped a small curtsy. " Um, Im Evangeline........" she trailed off as she awaited a reply, her earlier unease replaced by curiosity.

"Leaking?" Sphinx tilted her head before looking down at her knee. "Oh. So I am. It'll stop soon." She shrugged it off. "Evangeline... that's kind of a mouthful. Can I call you Eva?" She asked, holding a hand out to her. "I'm Sphinx. It's a pleasure to meet you! What are you doing out here?"

As the other freshling shrugged off the bloodied knee so did she. Nodding as her full name was used she frowned momentarily at the nickname....."Eva....
she tested it on her tongue, it felt ok so she nodded agreement. "Nice to meet you Sphinx." As she spoke she gently shook hands with the other, and as she did her wings vibrated again. " I came out here because I was bored........and my.........well, my wings feel odd.........like they want to stretch but not? And what are you doing out here?

"Eva is totally fitting and such a cute name!" Sphinx smiled at her. "Oooooh, you needed to stretch your wings!" She looked up to where she had jumped down from. "I know that feeling. I wanted to see if I could at least glide down safely from up there." She pointed. "But I don't think my wings are strong enough. But it was fun! Well, until the ground came up really fast. I'll have to try again."

Following her pointing finger, a look of admiration mixed with concern took residence upon Eva's face. " Wow, that takes some bravery to jump down from that high, wings or no! I'm impressed!" She tilted her head at that last part though, the concern deepening. "T...try again? But aren't you afraid of getting hur- More hurt? And dirty or tearing your outfit or............." She trailed off watching Sphinx
