Brief vacation with Stia was no a fond memory. Whatever gotten into her that night still embarrassed her to no end but the event was a lot of fun. They needed more time just the two of them now that the babies were all grown. Well, besides the ones that came along with Alma. Spoiling those little loves and giving them back brought greater joy then she expected.
Speaking of, Corazon had offered to babysit the three and did amazing, all four of them where knocked out in the spare bedroom. Laughing to herself, Zofie sat out dinner to cool and excited her home. All around her were signs of Alma's never ending energy. Stone workmanship replaced a lot of what Kurt had done by hand. Somethings were still there and so many new things were added.
Alma's stone home stood behind hers to the left looking into the pasture Chal and Aloiki tended. Alma had already started on another home, the girl's enthusiasm was contagious even if they didn't have the population to need more homes. One day this would be the villiage that Kurt envisioned. Her, her pride in what they accomplished before and since his passing was hard to contain.
Cotton grew strong in the soil in front of her home, it was her little task beyond being the villiage Mother. Relaxed and at peace with the world, the pink angel checked her plants to ensure they were still healthy and growing all the while humming a children's lullaby. Dream WhiteWitz To set the scene. As the path turns toward the port, there is the marsh then a long stone fence line, First break in the fence is an arch and path leading to the main house, four bedroom large ranch style with the kitchen up front. In front of house are two large patches of growning cotton. Behind and to the right of that house is a smaller two story stone house. Beside the main house and in front of the second house are four large pastures with alpaca, mules and chickens spread out. There is also a massive barn at the end of those pastures.

The Apple Faun, also known as Caleigh, had decided a while back to move on from Laisidhiel, the Great Tree where her species had thrived and lived. Ever since she was frozen in time emotionally and then woke up, she felt... misplaced like just being there. It wasn't a happy feeling, nor was it a pleasant feeling for her, for a place that was once her home and she loved it. Now... it just reminds me of a lost title, parted friendships, and no familial connections to anyone that lives there now. So, the short-haired blond faun packed up what little of what she had, which was growing little apple seedlings, dried, and planted in little bags from the apples hanging on her antlers. Where one would be plucked, a white flower would appear later indicating a new apple being grown. Other than that, she wasn't sure what else she could take, as she would have to rely on nature to provide her with what she need along the way. After all, there was no destination in mind at the moment...
She had started out heading on the road to the Apple Farm, where she lovely gazed at the different colors and patted her own apples. One day, she would like to come back and stay a bit and see the different kinds of apples that the farm provide; this had tickled her insides. After a day or so hanging around, she hefted her little bag up to her hip and headed out west to the Pae' kippu Beach, admiring the colors of the water there. The sand surely felt different under her hooves, making her giggle as she kicked it up a bit. Though all that kicking had gotten it into her hair, which warranted a bit of washing and then the apple faun had moved on once more. She was far from home, and there was no turning back, her heart didn't sink with despair but rather retain a hopeful light at finding new things, maybe find her inner self once again. The female only stopped to sleep before moving on, or when she saw something new that she just have to see! Such wondrous sights to behold!
That was merely weeks ago, Caleigh thought as she took in a deep breath after taking a quick run across the green grass, from crossing the delta and then decided to head south, which landed her arriving at a farm structure sitting there in the middle of nowhere. Her grey eyes widened at such a sight, creatures roaming around in pens that she never had been. The apple faun had followed what seemed like a stone fence bordering the property, the sheer fabric rustled against her legs as she walked in the lush green grass that seem to dominate the ground here... until she reached an arch, the break in the stone fence. Caleigh looked into the arch, peering at the property. It wouldn't be right to just walk onto it. What if someone decided she was a trespasser and chased her off? Well, that would just positively frighten her. The female hefted up her little bag and peeked it, testing the bags inside. She needed to find a water source, her little apple tree seedlings were drying out, and they needed nourishment.

The smell of earth filled the air creating its own sort of comfort. Small tasks such as pulling weeds created its own serenity. Wrapped in her world of rich earth and thick greenery all the, she just let her soul exist in the moments. Standing and dusting off some of the dirt from her pink hands, Zofie walked around the full of her crop checking for signs of anything amiss. Most of the leaves were thick and green.
There were a few of her plants on the wilty side, but she had the fix for that. Walking over to her watering can, purified rainwater from her son, she started on her task. Watching the dark rich earth turn even darker as the water fed the soil. Wet rich scent mingled in the air reminding her just a little of cooking with cinnamon. Speaking of cooking, it would be perfect timing to finish up before packing away her latest treat.
Just as she turned, the furry creature caught her completely off guard. For half a second she wondered if one of the alpaca had gotten out. Only she didn't look that much like one of her charges. And was clearly wearing cloths. Shock of it all caused her watering can to tilt until her own foot got wet. Jolted back to reality, Zofie approached the girl calling out warmly, "Hello, Welcome to Kurt's Ranch." Distinctly it occurred to her that they should stop calling it that. There was no Kurt.Dream WhiteWitz not quite to your length but I tried

The apple faun disappeared behind the thick arch when attention was on her; should she say something in return or just run? She wasn't exactly a native of these parts, so the being in question that had addressed her from sight still might run her off. Mustering up whatever courage she had left, Caleigh peeked beyond the stone arch, giving a blink as her grey-colored eyes widened in a surprised manner. Her ash blond hair was a mess from the small run over the delta and then across the grasslands to get to this point. The female took a deep breath and then came out from behind the stone arch pillar, giving the addressing female a full look at her. From her messy ash blond hair, to her red gown with its gold rings and sheer fabric that swishes around her to her untrimmed hooves, she wasn't a sight to behold at the moment, just another traveler in search of some food, water for her and her apple tree seedlings, and a safe place to sleep before moving on to the next area.
"Hi-i-i-i," Caleigh stammered, pursing her lips as she looked up from the grass to the female, Zofie in fact. She gave her hair a light shake, and it just cause it to stick out even more now that it is dried; giving the apples that were grown on her antlers a shimmy shake. "M' Caleigh," she mumbled. "Don't mean to trespass. I... um... the animals are fascinating!" the female tackled on out of a blurt, fluttering her eyelashes quickly.EvilSilverDragon Pfft, mine was just mostly background! Shaking of the apples drew her eyes naturally encouraging them to widen. Did she have apples growing from her head?! What in the name of the Guardians?! So much time with the herd, her eyes drew down to the others hooves...hooves? They looked in bad need of tending.
Shaking her her head and squeezing her eyes she scolded herself for even thinking such rude thoughts. Brushing her hands again of the earth still sticking to them, "You aren't trespassing, we welcome any and all here!" Approaching but still giving Caleigh her space, old habits from shy alpaca kicking in.
Symbolically she stepped to the side leaving the path into the Ranch proper pen for the pae. "I am Zofie, village leader and I welcome you. Please, come and rest yourself. I have food and water if you are hungry or thirsty." Eyes followed to where the animals were, soft smile belied the pride she had in her herd, "Those are Alpaca, mules and chickens. The fluffy clouds are our Alpaca, we are the only ones on the island to have them. Thanks to Alma and Chal they are very tolerant if you'd like to meet them." That sounded good in theory but as she looked back at the girl a doubt nagged. One of her herd wouldn't try to take a bite of the apple or leaves would it? Certainly is rude but is it possible that it would be painful to her guest too?
Oh dear, that wouldn't do.Dream WhiteWitz What is the rule if an animal tries to eat part of the guest?

Caleigh blinked, following the trail of eyesight that the opposite female was giving her which lead to her hooves. She blushed, and tried to hide her disintended feet mostly out of a small shame for not taking care of herself more on her journey. The faun gave Zofie a puzzled look once more and looked around her warily before stepping through the stone arch that had separated the boundaries of the property from the grasslands around them. “M’ thank you,” she practically whispered, her eyes constantly darting around at the sights that the ranch were continually providing her, and it was a sweet sight too. “Sorry? Alpe-pe?” The apple faun asked, looking confused. “That’s new,” she tacked on quietly, keeping her bag close to her out of sheer habit.
“Fluffy clouds. That what they are? Ok, fluffy clouds. They do look like clouds. Make sense to be named after it!” Caleigh said, clasping her hands. “I would! We have no like this back home. Food, water?” she asked tentatively, her stomach growling at the thought of real food, something other than the vegetation diet she been eating on her travels these past few weeks. ”Fluffy clouds first,” the faun stated quietly, smiling slowly at Zofie, the sheer red fabric swishes about her legs as she proceeded to follow the opposite female pae, her ever faithful bag by her side.EvilSilverDragon No idea XD not it’ll hurt her, probably just be an annoyance at the apple eating lol!

Oh no, sky blue eyes widened as the misunderstanding became more evident. This was going to be interesting fixing without upsetting the poor dear who already seemed so shy. While she worked on it, Caleigh gave her an opening to correct her gently.
"Of course, the alpaca first. Desert should finish cooling by then if little hands stay naping and out of trouble." Chuckling she headed towards the window sill where said pie was cooling. Stopping a moment to inhale it, the angel reached past and picked up a hand full of something.
Walking back to her guest she offered two pieces of dried seaweed, "The alpaca love these, they need the salt. You'll make friends in no time!" Cheering the girl on while continuing to use the word for the animals. Zofie never stopped or paused to draw any attention to the misunderstanding.
Inviting Caleigh over with a wave, she approached the fence and made clicking sound with her tongue hitting the roof of her mouth while her lips were mostly closed. I caused a hallow clicking noise that the animals were well accustom. One mother with cria approached first, curious and eager for the treat. Looking back, Zofie encouraged with a smile, "They really do look like fluffy clouds especially the babies. Baby alpaca are called cria. Let them sniff you and take a few treats before trying to pet her. You'll be very pleased with how the fibers feel." Comfortable with the animals, she lead by example offering the salty treat on the flat of her hand.

Caleigh tentatively followed after Zofie, her hooves hitting the fresh grass with a bit of excitement. The sooner they had reached the Alpaca pen, the sooner she can see these ‘fluffy clouds’ up close. She have to admit, she was quite thrilled. The opposite female took a few things that looked utterly foreign to her and made a most curious sound with her mouth. This had held her attention for the moment until a female alpaca came calling with her youngins’. Far away, they were just fluffy clouds; now up close? They were fluffy clouds with faces and hooves! This was utterfly fascinating!
The hopeful look came across her face as a elated child-like joy finding out that candy is delicious. Carefully, the faun lend her hand out to the creatures in hope that they would let her touch their fur. A thought came across her mind before she plucked a ripe shiny red apple off her antler like it was no big deal. ”Do they like apples?” she asked, holding the juicy fruit in the palm of her hand.

Gently, Zofie continued to 'speak' to the alpaca using small clicks and soft words. They didn't seem to know what to do with their new guest, showing a natural weariness. At the same time, the treats were there and they trusted Zofie. This lead to them doing a little dance side stepping to as close to the treats as they could get while staying away from the new comer.
Looking at the apple a moment, Zofie had to blink. That came off? It wasn't a decoration? "N-no sorry, they don't have the teeth to bite into apples like that. It would have to be cut up small for them to try. They like the seaweed I gave you, try that. Be gentle and calm, they are skiddish around new thi--new pae." Caleigh looked more like them than she did, it was understandable that they seemed so confused. Still the girls would warm up to her if she gave them a chance.

Caleigh blinked. “Ooooh!” she mumbled, nodding. “M’ a faun. I come from the Great Tree,” the female said, looking at the opposite female’s reaction to her plucking an apple off her antler. Back home, others like her did not give much of a reaction, except for the little ones whom find her apples rather sweet and juicy when they sink their teeth into the crisp red skin of the fruit. She then looked to Zofie, holding out the apple. “Here, try one. You really nice person, Zophie,” the apple faun said without hesitation by handing Zofie the apple before giving the alpaca her attention with the seaweed, holding it out to them. “Hi, you are pretty,” she mumbled, looking in delight at the alpaca. “Cute fluffy clouds.”

"Faun?" It took several minutes for the word to hit a memory. "Ooo, We traded with someone that makes clothes there before." Her voice trailed off. This was before Kurt went missing and before the explosion. It was remarkable that the girl was willing to even talk to her.
The honor was even extended to allow her to have on of the apples. Wide eyes, she reached out hesitantly. Very carefully she accepted the very rare treat, "There are no apples anywhere near here, I haven't had one in a life time. Thank you!" Treasuring the gift, she wondered if form the seeds could she get a tree to grow?
The mother alpaca noticed no gifts were coming from Zofie, yet there were still treats to be had. Slowly, keeping herself between her baby and the newcomer, the creature got closer. Sniffing several moments, she moved against the fence and quickly started snacking on the seaweed.

Caleigh gave a hesitant nod towards Zofie. "M' faun," she said, a note of slight pride and then disappointment. She heard stories from others about the people outside the Tree and how they treated beings like her. Surely, Zofie isn't like that. She been kind and rather pleasant towards her the entire time she been besides her. When the mama alpaca came over and started eating at the seaweed she had in her hand, she couldn't help but giggle at the feeling of it against her hands, it was like feathers brushing against her skin, which was a pleasant and tickling sensation. The faun brushed her hands when the seaweed was gone, and turned to look at the opposite female.
The apple faun studied Zofie while she looked at the apple. "Something wrong?" she asked, moving to stand alongside Zofie, watching the apple. "You never had an apple?! Then take a bite!" she exclaimed, her eyes widened.

Shaking her head gently, offering a shiver when her slightly damp hair hit the skin just right. Turning her eyes to the fauness, the apple still cradled gently in her hands, she explained, "I haven't had an apple in a life time. There isn't anywhere to get them anymore. Thank you very much!" Part of her wanted to save it, give the kids a chance to taste the rare treat. The island offered several fruits and vegetables but an apple wasn't one. Just the smell of the item brought a small rush of happy memories.
It would be rudeness not to bite it when offered and insisted on by the giver. Caleigh had a lot of kindness and generosity in her. It was a gift that the woman found her ranch not somewhere more....aggressive.
Taking a small bite, she had to just close her eyes and take the moment to enjoy the fresh, sweet and crisp taste. "Just like I remember!" Her voice wistful knowing this would likely be the last time she'd have one of these again.
Aiming to distract, she said, "When you are ready, I'd be honored to have you at my table for something to eat and drink." However long her visitor decided to stay, she'd have a good visit all the same.

Caleigh looked pleased at the opposite female's reaction to taking a bite out of the given apple. She did enjoy watching the responses; usually it gives her an elated feeling within her. Maybe it was the person, maybe it was the ranch, but something about this place is lifting her spirits and it is enabling her to to stay, wishing her to stay just a bit longer. And truth be told, she had no qualms about it. "I am ready," the faun admitted, smiling, hefting her little bag up closely.
She did wonder what would the female say if she gave her a apple tree seedling before she moved on to the next place. They did need warm soil and a place to put down roots, and this place seem to be considerably positive.

Smiling broadly, Zofie turned on her heels heading back to her house, apple cradled like a precious jewel in her hand. Once at the door, she opened it and stepped aside to allow her guest to enter first, "Please, come in." One hand was held out arm stretched and palms facing inward towards the room.
Once they were inside, Zofie put down her treat and worked quickly to put out a meal. No attempt at offers to help were accepted, guests were allowed to relax but she wouldn't hear of putting the other to work. Instead, Caleigh was given a glass of cooled pure water while Zofie set the table with a salad bar, broiled salted fish and a vegetable stew. That was combined with the offerings of the freshly baked honey and nut pie.
And of course bread was on the table always a staple in the home.
With that Caleigh was welcomed to what ever she wanted to eat while Zofie ate her own fill. She'd recook everything for the rest of the family to have their meal later.
As the meal ended, Zofie broke the comfortable silence by asking, "What are your plans, Caleigh?" Naturally if she wanted to stay she was welcomed to do so. If that wasn't the plan the she'd have to be careful not to keep her past dark. Travel was slower when you couldn't fly.
