It was a burning desire now. For months Chessur had been seeking someone to imbue with, or a child to adopt. They'd been on a couple dates, they'd attended an imbuing party, they'd tried a couple different sites. Nothing seemed to work. They were almost ready to scream.
At first, it had been an idle desire. Nothing too urgent, just a bud. But the longer and longer it was taking to find someone who didn't want to co-parent, who didn't want to split the kids' time, who could work with Chessur's odd habits and overcome the distaste their mutations normally caused to simply imbue a pair of stones, the more frustrated they became. Not only that, but it was disheartening. Sure, they COULD technically imbue a stone all on their own, but they wanted something else added to the mix. Someone else, to be specific.
Chessur sighed and rolled over in the nest of blankets they claimed was a bed. Somewhere underneath it was a mattress, they were sure, but from the heaping mound of blankets and pillows it was not immediately obvious. They had a couple potential people to meet today as well, but it was beginning to feel like it would never happen. The fortune teller had told them that a child would help them with all that they meant to do, but they'd failed to mention the difficulties they would have even having one.
Rolling out of bed, the hallowed dug through the piles of clothes scattered through their room to find a clean outfit. If they were going to go through this again, today, then by the nine they were going to make a good impression and finally, Finally, get someone on board. It shouldn't be too hard. They just wanted a simple, clean, imbuing. No strings attached.
They certainly wouldn't mind being known to their other child, but they didn't want to be a second parental figure. They would have their hands full making sure their primary child wasn't going to end up with all of their habits. At least, that was what Chessur told themself. It would be a different story if the other parent wanted to be in the life of their kid. It would be easier on all parties if that wasn't the case, but it wasn't something they would forbid. After all, they were hallowed, not heartless.
As they got ready they continued to pep themself up. These were going to be the last test dates they did. After today it would be settled. They would have someone to imbue with and it would be difficulty free and it would be done within the week! That was the end goal!
Bedecked in their own unique style, as befitting one of their nature, they threw the opening of their tent aside and strode out. Today was the day it was going to end and that was that. One way or another they would have an imbued stone of their very own to raise before the week was out.
