Quote: Though they weren’t exactly advertised, it seems as if there are several ‘lessons’ going on within the museum. How to make chocolate candies, lessons in liquid nitrogen ice cream. There are even lessons in how to operate the big fancy plane in the middle of the central hall! Not that you really can anyway. Slots are going fast, so better sign up sooner rather than later! Evren had once again found herself dropped off for a valentine date. But this time she felt a little more prepared to meet this person. Evren even had a gift this time… and she couldn’t go wrong because in her bag was a scarf knitted in in every single color! It wasn’t because she learned how to knit this winter and went overboard… not at all. Evren’s hair was cutely styled along with her newest outfit. Smiling she looked around… where… was she supposed to meet this person again? Evren just kept smiling as she went to reach into her bag… only to be met with a scarf and another scarf unable to find the card of the person she was supposed to meet for this date. Uh oh. She couldn’t find it… maybe she’ll be lucky and her date will find her before she unknowingly looks someone who was stood up. Course Evren would be the type to keep standing around until the whole place closed and just think the person must have been too sick to show up.

Landry did not care for many things in life. He was impartial to Valentine's Day, and did not think much on love or being friendly or even approachable on that day. His sister, however, seemed to think he needed to get out more, as that blasted girl signed his name up for some foolish blind date. There was no love out there for random strangers approaching him without provocation, and it left him feeling surprisingly uncomfortable.
It didn't help that he had no interest at all in fixing up his attire or dressing up anything more than a casually nice shirt and a pair of slacks. He cared not for first impressions, especially for someone he had no intention of seeing again.
When he did finally arrive, he made sure his sister found her date well enough before going off on his own. This girl... Evren... She seemed to be a fan of lolita clothing, which was all well and good of course, but the rest of her card, as blank as it seemed to be made him dread this date. Was she as boring as she came off as? What kinda person liked everything? She sounded like a tiresome person... But Landry knew if he tried to ditch his date, his sister would have his head, so he put on an almost pleasant expression as he approched the girl who seemed to fit the description on the card.
"Good Evening... Might you be Miss Evren Porter? I'm Landry... I'm to be your companion for this evening. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Hand still stuck in her bag she turned to the boy who greeted her and gave him a big smile. "Pleased to meet you Landry! I'm Evren... oh wait you just said that haha." Pulling out a lavender scarf she held it out to him. "I was really excited for today! So I made a present!" With the look, she was giving him you could almost see flowers and if she was a dog her tail would be wagging as she looked expectantly at him waiting to see if he would take the scarf.

.. Damn, what had Lori gotten him into...? He could almost feel his eye twitch at the smile and her puppy like ways. Could he leave? There was still time to leave right?
... Damn it all! It looked like he was trapped, and he could just feel Lori's smug grin watching him from somewhere close. Even if she wasn't, he could imagine it way too well for comfort.
And a gift of all things... If he said no, he might have a crying person on his hands... But if he said yes.... It would be incredibly awkward if this night got worse than it already was... But it did look soft and when he took it, he simply draped it over his shoulders, giving Evern a tiny smile. Alright, he admit, it was nice.
"Lavender... It suits me well, I think... Thank you. I apologize, I didn't get you anything... I hope I am good enough company to make up for it."

Evren made a huge smile when he said he liked(?) the scarf. "I'm so glad you like it! I picked it out cause I think it worked best with your complexion but..." Pulling at the contents of her purse a rainbow of yarn appeared. "I made one in almost every color just in case you didn't like it..." Letting them go to fall back in her purse she pumped her fists close to her chest. "But I'm super happy you liked the first one I picked out!" Letting her arms fall down to her sides she tilted her head. "Oh, it is alright you didn't get me anything... I made this cause I wanted to give a present... mostly because of what happened last year..." Smiling awkwardly she brought her hands up to her face. "You see last year I got paired up with a teacher... I felt so bad for ruining his night so I made it as a 'hope I'm not too much of a disappointment' gift" Laughing nervously she brought her hands down in front of her dress. "...I mean we're the same age but... um... I'm not a disappointment... right."

Ah... So that explains it. She didn't specifically make the gift for himShe just happened to make a bunch and wanted to pick one. That made more sense. And even after more of her explanation, he chose to believe that was the case. It kept it less personal that way.
"That's unfortunate... Last year, I mean. But this year, I'm sure our date will go just fine. I don't find you disappointing in the least. Quite lovely, in fact. Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts, how about we go enjoy ourselves? I feel as if you might be the kind of person who would enjoy sweets, so I think it'd be a good idea to do one of the lessons. If you like, of course."
Honestly, Landry couldn't care either way what they did, though he preferred if they did something quiet. He could already here some brats popping balloons not too far away and it was giving him one hell of a headache.
"I hope I'm not too disappointing either."

Evren smiled and blinked as she completely was oblivious to the last thing he said. Giving a big smile she responded. "I love sweets!" She then nodded. "I've never really cooked that much before so I'd love to learn." Evren looked around and pointed. "It should be in that direction right?" It was the wrong direction... in fact, it was the exact opposite of where the lessons were. Someone, please stop this girl before she goes walking off.

... What? What all of what he said ignored? Damn, no wonder she was a disappointment to someone last year! Even as these feelings were internalized, Landry did his best to fight off the clearly annoyed look he had on his face while she looked away.
Compliments didn't seem to work, and... Well, maybe her mind was one track. That could work in his favor and maybe get him away from her as soon as possible. Yet here she was, going the wrong direction as if she couldn't read the directions that were posted at the entrance of the Museum.
Maybe he could just ignore her. Let her walk off and just say they got split up.
... no, no, he couldn't. Lori would hate him if he left the poor girl on her own, plus that was just asking for horrible karma to stack up... So instead he reached out and gently pulled her wrist back.
"I'm sorry, but the sign says it's over here. I'll... Be sure to make sure you don't ruin your dress while we work." That, and not burn the hell out of her fingertips, since melted chocolate was hot... Ugh... With a heavy heart and a budding headache, he led her over towards the lessons, making sure they had a seat near the teacher just in case they needed to put out a fire or something.
"Looks like we have aprons. I think it would be best to put them on, don't you?"

Evren was jolted back and looked over at the sign. Her face then turned into one of shock. "There are signs! That's amazing! Event planners really think of everything." She let her hand slide up and grasped Landry's and gave a big innocent smile as she was led to where the chocolate making class was being taught. Letting go of his hand when they reached the class she looked over at the mention of aprons. "Oh yes! I wouldn't want to remake this outfit... So many of the clothes I've made have been victims of monster attacks... it would be terrible if I ruined on this way." Evren said in a completely serious tone. It seemed the serious moment was lost however when she picked up an apron from the rack. "Landry, it's so cute the aprons have hearts on them!" Kapoodles Evren yes! Are we shipping this now... ima ship it... would it be called Landren or Evry

A small part of Landry had imagined that soon enough he was going to be striked down by lightning after all the times he had mentally uttered dear God, why? in regards to the young lady with him. Her smile, while cute, mildly irritated him but he held it in, not wanting to get yelled at for snapping at a girl, which was horrible on a normal day but would be made even worse given that it was Valentine's Day.
Atleast if she was concentrating on making the chocolate, then maybe she shouldn't force him to interact too much. Who knows, maybe she'd even be halfway decent at this, as she was at knitting the scarves.
"Yes, they are. It looks good on you." He knew far too well about those so called 'monster attacks' and didn't want to think about them, not when he was often one of those 'monsters'. Instead, he focused on the instructions that were presented to him.
"Seems as if the teacher isn't really teaching, but rather going around helping each group individually. Would you like to get started now, or wait until they come by?"
Stump_Fairy I think Evry sounds cuter! xD

Evren walking backover put her bag down at the station the two of them were going to be working at. She looked at Landry and put her finger to her chin to think for a few seconds. Glancing over at the station she noticed a binder with laminated pages. "Well let's take a look." She grabbed it and opened to the first page and it was clear step by step directions on what they should do. "Well it looks like the first step is to boil some water... so why don't we just get started and see how far we can get." All the ingredients were there laid out along with proper measuring equipment. Evren was confident it wouldn't get overly difficult. "Unless of course, you would rather wait for the instructor?"

"I'm sure we can do this on our own." Before she even asked, Landry had taken the pot they were provided with and filled it up from the nearby sink.
"I think I've seen this be done a few times. We'll be using the water as a double boiler, to gently heat the chocolate, since Chocolate burns when direct heat is applied." He was no expert on this by any means, but he had watched enough cooking shows with his sister to know at least the little bitty basics. "Do you have any experience in the kitchen?"
For once he chose his words a bit carefully, trying to gauge just how much he could trust her with.
"I'm happy to do most of the work, if you'd like. After all, you brought me a gift, maybe making these chocolates would be my gift to you."

Evren smiled. "Well, I don't really do any of the cooking at my house... the most I do usually involve cutting up vegetables." Smiling as she looked through the directions and then at the table. "Well, it shouldn't be too hard! All the ingredients look handled already." Evren pulled the bowl with the butter closer to her. "So the directions say once the water is boiling we start with the butter." "If you want to handle the pot I don't mind handing you the ingredients. But if your arm gets tired we can switch!" Shaking her head. "You really don't have to worry about the gift thing! I consider today really special... it's my first official date after all." Giving a big smile she giggled. "So thank you for helping me with this experience. I hope I can always remember today." Briefly, her face seemed to falter but she quickly turned back to the directions with a slight blush.

Oh gods, someone trusted this girl with knives?! If Landry hadn't been worried before, he certainly was now. But it seemed like Evren was more confident in helping than not, so for now he relaxed and gave in just a little.
"Alright, I'll be sure to let you know." This time, his smile was a bit kinder, a bit more genuine, especially when she mentioned how this was her first real date. Landry would have to admit to himself, he wasn't exactly the kindest man around, but... He could be considerate.
Sometimes.
"You know, I don't think I would mind seeing you again in the least. Give you more memories to enjoy. After all, I'd like to think we're friends now. Or at least allies in this chocolate making experience." His voice was surprisingly soft this time, noticing the blush and playing up on that as he started to melt down each item he was given. As he stirred the pot slowly, he vaguely considered the likelihood of regretting saying that. Probably pretty high, but it was nice to make someone else happy once in a while. Especially a girl who seemed to have such a pitiful time last time she tried.
"In exchange, however, you must promise you share this chocolate with no one else. After all, I think I will consider this a gift. A gift we made together."
Stump_Fairy omg I'm sorry for the wait! I lost this!

As Evren handed the ingredients and gave a big smile. "I hear chocolate is a pact of friendship for life." As she handed off the ingredients. "Also I just love sweets... I can't guarantee there would be any left if we started eating them right after we make them." Evren giggled. "Anyway, how is everything looking so far?" Evren said looking over at their culinary creation so far. Kapoodles Its alright I was distracted by event rps. And yes Landry im sure you'll regret it if Evren meets ur sister.
