The holidays are close to ending and it’s time to start packing away your decorations. In a stroke of bad luck, you drop an ornament (or other small bauble) and it shatters. Inside was a strange, glistening dust that you accidentally inhale. You are immediately met with a strong hallucination of a previous holiday memory. It only lasts for a few moments, but it feels like you are back in the memory, reliving it. It seems so real but when it ends, you are back in the present with no trace of the dust left in sight. Which holiday memory did you relive, and how do you react to being torn from it?

(You can only relive a memory from a holiday in December and it must be from this lifetime. Characters who have lost civilian memories, such as in a side swap, will have a much vaguer memory. Locations and faces will be blurred and unrecognizable, and the memory will not reveal anything about their previous life. These characters may be left feeling a little hollow after the memory.

Ciel felt so happy being with Carlee as she was helping take down the Christmas. She was humming happily to herself as she helped take off the ornaments. She could be doing anything but as long as she was with Carlee it made her happy.

She wasn't paying the most attention as she went to take off a generic colored bulb it slipped from her hand and broke against the floor. "Oh Cosmos bless it. I'm so sorry, I'll buy you a new one." She promised, she was thankful it wasn't a special or hand made ornament. She bent down to carefully pick up the shards. She noticed it had a strange glistening dust inside of it.

"What the." She mumbled, as she did so she inhaled a bit of the dust. She coughed and stood up.

Her vision tunneled and she saw she was in a different room, a different house even. She was in her own house but it was not the same as it currently was, this was her house from years ago. She was no longer the sixteen year old she was but rather a small child. She sat curled up on her mother's lap. She felt her warmth and looked up to see her radiantly smiling face. "Ma bichette. Look you have one last gift from Santa to open, Ellie." Her father's gentle deep voice caught her attention. She knew this memories it was one of her earliest, her third Christmas to be exact.

She got off of her mother's lap and toddled over to the box, it was not sealed like all of the other presents but her young mind didn't pay that any notice. "What is it Papa?" She asked in her high voice. "You have to open to find out." Her father responded with a good natured chuckle. As she approached the box she heard an excited bark as the top of box flew open to reveal an excited puppy with a grey coat. It was almost as big as she was. It jumped out and started playfully licking her face causing her to fill the room with childish giggles. "Mama! Papa! look Santa brought me a puppy!" She exclaimed to her parents her looked on with admiration. "What are you going to name it mon bébé." Her mother inquired. The young girl stared at the dog long and hard deep in thought. "I'm gonna name you Arthur, like king Arthur." She proudly declared to the puppy.

The memory faded and Ciel was left in the present, a hollow pit in chest. She felt hot tears rolling down her face. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't save you all." She mumbled to herself the vision shaking her up.
