A mudpit. Of all the cursed places that one could have to fight. Lucky for him, lassos, cowboys and mud all went together like white on bread. Jesse walked out into the mud as if walking down a cobbled road, not caring at all that the mud was creeping up his boots. He had a huge smile on his lips. He was about to face Gabby. It would be nice to show her how well he had been doing. "Hiya!" He called out swinging his lasso about his head, letting the hoop drift in the air as he swung his arm casually. "Good to see you been winning so much." He waited for her to take the greeting and then let the lasso hoop sail through the air. Unfortunately he also let go of the other end of the lasso, and the whole deal left his hands, the sound of Trigg laughing filling his mind as the whip dissipated and reformed as a lighter in his hand. Gabby made a face as she made her way back to the mudpit, already not looking forward to having to slip and slide her way through another battle. Still, upon seeing who she was fighting she couldn't help but smile bright and wide.
"Hi!" she returned the greeting. "It's good to see you've been doing so well, too! Wow!"
She summoned Sen into her hand and, when she saw the lasso fly she couldn't help but giggle as she quickly dashed in and took a slash right at his center.

Jesse grunted as the sword hit his torso, he looked down at it, then sighed, making Trigg take weapon form again. The whole time his weapon was laughing at him, clearly amused at his failure.
The cowboy sighed weakly. "Well see how proud you should be of me, throwing my weapon away. This is how I got this far." He staggered back a bit and prepared again, maybe this time not going to throw his weapon away.
He was glad to actually manage to let the lasso fly at her arms, using the free end as a whip.

The whip stung as it made contact, but she still grinned and turned, ramming into him with his shoulder to put a little bit of distance between them.
"Everyone has their own pace. If you've managed this far then you should be doing fine, Jess."

Jesse grinned and tipped his hat at her, even as he hissed between his teeth at the slash. "Thanks, I am doing my best, since I don't like fighting all that much. Could barely stand to fight Tzei, I felt so bad at hurting her. I don't want t' hurt you either, but, Trigg says you only feel it like I do."
He swung the lasso again, moving to rush back a few steps, glad he was wearing boots. He was moving back and actually didn't have time to attack. This was not going well.

As the man stumbled back Gabby couldn't help herself from pausing for a moment so he could find his footing, finding his sentiments a cross between silly and adorable.
"We all feel pain much the same way, so your weapon's right," she said as she got back into a ready stance, waiting for him to make his next move. "But I know what you mean. It's something you just need to get used to, sparring with people you know."

Jesse appreciated her patience as he got his footing, though he wouldn't have blamed her if she had attacked. He started to swing his lasso again, eyeing her to decide the best place to hook her. He didn't want to be too intrusive in his movements. The bad news was, he couldn't find a good opening, if he was to just let loose now it would swing down and get caught, likely just falling free. Crud this was not working.
"Heh, yeah, well I am sure in time..."

Gabby watched the other struggle with his weapon and, thinking it might help him out a bit more if she actually did something, she dashed in for another slash, this time aiming to hit him with the back of her blade. She, however, slipped in the mud in the middle of her approach, and her swing missed him entirely.

Jesse bowed his head, his lips quirking as he tried not to laugh. He couldn't believe he was seeing someone else falling in the mud. Then again he fell off a car the round before so it wasn't like he wasn't just as bad.
He started to eye her, wondering if this time he could make a snag. He found an opening and this time, while her back was turned, (Yes low move) he hooked her and snapped the end of the whip at her. It was like when he was working.

Gabby winced at the sting of the whip, but she still managed a grin as she got to her feet and darted at Jesse again, slashing as soon as he was within reach.
"So what's your weapon's name?" she finally thought to ask. In the heat of battle she now found herself curious after her last fight. "This is Sen."

The trainee laughed a bit as they seemed to be actually fighting again. He looked at his whip. "This is Trigg, he says he is easilly Triggered, so he took the name. He used to be an electric Eel monster, something I never saw before." The cowboy nodded his head. "nice to meet you Sen." He curled his lips happily. This time he just whipped out the end of the lasso, to smack her, it was almost playful.

Playful or not the whip still stung, however slightly this time, but Gabby willed herself to ignore the pain and slashed again when she saw an opening.
"Sen hasn't told me enough about him so I don't know who or what he used to be," she frowned. "He's the silent type. Super silent."

Jesse gave another grunt of pain, he knew this time he was likely going to get a bruise. It didn;t matter, he had been kicked by a horse once, and that nearly broke his leg, this at least wasn't cutting chunks from him.
He tilted his head. "Yeah I hear some don't want to talk to us for some reason. Trigg is self centered and it is okay, he is kind of good company on quiet nights. Plus he will be great if the power goes out. A lighter."

"Or not.. a lighter case? useless.." Jesse sighed a little and went for another grab, hoping to pull her in again.
