It had become routine as of late for Pyrrha to spar with her twin. At first it had been purely coincidental; on one of the rare days the elarian showed herself for training her sister just happened to be there. Since the day she'd been expelled from her own home Pyrrha had been 'fortunate' enough to avoid Pruu, and up until that day, it had been a successful venture.
The intial battle had been....odd. She had yet to speak with her sister and outside of their battles she still preferred her own company. However, Pyrrha did show up to the same spot, week after week, almost religiously, bow in hand with a quiver of arrows slung across her back. Some weeks she lost, some she won, and this week....
....she planned to be victorious.
It was ludicrous, really, for a long range fighter to go up against dual blades, but Pyrrha knocked her bow regardless and let her first shot fly.

It seemed to be becoming a regular occurrence. Battling her twin so regularly was nothing less than surprising, but also nothing less than immensely gratifying. Pruu was not able to do much for her sister, and these little spars allowed her the time to see Pyrrha's condition. It was all the more satisfying because Pyrrha did not come here out of force... Some part of her wanted to be there.
There was never much talking during the matches... but that was probably why they worked out. Pushing each other, showing their strengths, sharing wins and losses... No, it wasn't ideal, but Pruu was happy enough to have this time with her sister.
..Of course, when an arrow glanced along her face and threw off her attack.. as proud as she was of her sister... Pruu had to jump back and rethink her tactics with a frustrated huff.

Almost as soon as she'd fired her first attack Pyrrha lined up her next shot and let it fly like rapid fire. She was almost deadly accurate, although...her shot lacked any sort of real strength. The elarian still took so little pride in hurting anyone, much less her own twin, and thus, it was rare for her to put much force into her attacks beyond what was absolutely necessary.
Pyrrha knew it wouldn't last forever, though; Pruu was always getting huffy and the battle had only begun. Soon enough her twin would unleash heartier attacks, resulting in either a win or pushing Pyrrha behind limits she was comfortable with.

Gripping the practice blades, Pruu darted forward again. The arrow glanced off of her shoulder, barely noticed as she jumped to give a more forward attack swing. She could see how efficient Pyrrha was with that bow, Pyrrha was fast, so Pruu needed to be faster...

Pyrrha was fast, but not fast enough to avoid Pruu's attack. She'd provoked the beast that lay within all elarian, and faced the consequences ten fold. The blades collided with her left side, knocking Pyrrha off her feet completely and into the dirt.
I could lay here and forfeit.
She'd done so in the past, with others, but she felt as if her sister wouldn't take anything less than her best. For a moment she stayed still, stilling her breathing so that she could get her bearings. It didn't last long, however; soon enough Pyrrha was raising her bow, but not in search of a new arrow. Rather, she swung it like a sword, keen on slamming it against the back of her twin's knee.

Skidding to a halt, Pruu hesitated a moment when she saw Pyrrha lying there. The girl wasn't about to give up, was she? There would be none of that! Pruu leaned in to swing her blades down, but the unexpected lash by the bow knocked her just enough off course that the blades dug deep into the ground next to Pyrrha's head. Blinking with surprise, Pruu couldn't help a sharp smile of approval rising while she yanked the blades free. That had been clever..

Those blades sunk in close enough that Pyrrha's initial reaction was to shrink away from there. And yet, where was she to go? They were on either side of her, buried in the ground and closing in on her. The only place she had to go was up....
....so when Pruu smiled, moving to pull her blades away, Pyrrha pulled her legs up tight to her chest. In an instant she kicked, pressing the flat soles of her feet against her twin's sternum in the hopes of knocking her down. It was a bold move; one that would leave her prone afterwards, but if she didn't come up with something else she wouldn't stand a chance in close combat.

Pyrrha took up her bow once more, and felt around for an arrow, one of many that had fallen from her quiver, before knocking it. From a crouched position she aimed at her sister, at point blank distance. It was so unlike Pruu to miss this much, and for a moment Pyrrha was scared she would get mad, then lash out like their mother might...
...and yet, Pruu was laughing. It was small, short lived and breathy, but real. It was enough to put a confused look on Pyrrha's face, one that was followed by a soft little smile of her own. She took aim for an area of her twin's clothing that had the most folds, making it the thickest and most likely to form a barrier from her attack, before letting it fly.

Still a little dizzy from the kick to the chest, Pruu's movements were delayed. She saw the bow come up, saw the smile on her sister's face, felt herself start to shift... and then a sharp stab radiated up from her hip. Dropping to one knee with a grunt, she panted a moment before sighing with acceptance. "Well done, sister," she said, dropping her blades to the side to show she was done.
