xxx»» Freddie is very straight-forward, and very dedicated. He doesn't back down easily and tends to become very enthusiastic when involved in a project or idea. Once he's in, he's all in, and he'll do whatever it takes to achieve the optimal outcome. He doesn't like leaving things half-finished. His zeal for life is almost child-like on the surface, and digging down deeper finds the passion no lessened, simply more serious, more contemplative. He's given to excited declarations, wildly gesticulating to display his interest and dedication to any given project.

xxx»» Despite 'childlike wonder' being an accurate descriptor for his world view, Freddie is no stranger to planning and to scheming. While his 'schemes' never have any sort of nefarious outcome planned, he is certainly no stranger to subtle manipulation and little white lies. He only employs these tactics when absolutely necessary, but wears the mantle quite easily, and feels no guilt when forced to call upon his more objectionable skills.
CHARISMATIC
xxx»» Freddie is an exceptionally likeable man, a fact that has served him quite well in his life. He's very genuine, and a people pleaser. He'd happily give the shirt off his back, with a winning smile all the way to assure you that really, it was no trouble at all. He finds it quite easy to blend in almost any crowd, though he does find it a tad stifling to mingle with the more uptight sects of society. He's a very hard man to disagree with, or at least to find disagreeable.
METICULOUS
xxx»» Despite being something of a rash decision-maker, once those rash decisions are made, Freddie is very careful about how they play out. He's not one to ignore the small details, and will try to think things through every angle possible to ensure he's come to an optimal solution. He tends to stick his foot in his mouth, and then find an elegant way to remove it, so to speak. He'll dedicate himself very happily to a half-baked scheme, and then do the heavy lifting to ensure the scheme comes out fully baked and successful.

xxx»» His parents rather dour dispositions always left him feeling a little unsettled, even before he realized how backwards their way of thinking was. His little brother came more naturally to the cheerful side than he did, but upon coming to school and relaxing somewhat, he found it easy enough to morph into something more resembling Randolph's optimism. Eventually he became the sort of person to always see the silver lining, though he'll admit that it's not always easy, or even comfortable, to do so.
UNYIELDING
xxx»» Freddie doesn't know when to quit. Once he's involved in something, he pours his whole self into it. As a result, he finds it rather hard to let things go. He has a lot of trouble admitting defeat. While this can hamper him somewhat in instances where it is a true lost cause, it proves to be quite the asset in any other case. He is rarely willing to accept defeat, and as such rarely has to do so. Once he as set his mind to something, the odds are, he'll succeed.

- CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Frederick was the firstborn son of the Burton family. He was brought up in what should have been a perfectly comfortable upper middle class lifestyle, but his parents always found it somewhat lacking. Both having come from reasonably humble beginnings, they were both always unsatisfied with their lot in life, always striving for more. Frederick, or Freddie, as he preferred, grew up constantly feeling like he never had enough, despite the relative luxury he lived in. The feeling only intensified when he was seven and his younger brother Randolph as born and he went from being the doted upon only child to the oft-forgotten older brother. Freddie greatly resented his brother, and grew more and more distant from his parents as he perceived them drawing away from him to heap affection on the new baby. Still, he didn't have it in him to hate the boy completely, and Randolph was a sweet baby. Eventually, the pair were thick as thieves, to the point that Freddie was heartbroken to go to school and be away from him.
SCHOOL YEARS
xxx»» Freddie was in for quite the wake-up call when he arrived at Hogwarts. Prior to his attendance, he'd lived a very sheltered life, and only ever socialized with the children his parents deemed appropriate. Friendships were tools to be utilized, not emotional attachments, not that he'd ever known the difference. Coming to school forced Freddie out of the bubble he'd spent his early years living in, and made him very aware of the many things in life he ought to've been grateful for. Over time, he felt the gap between himself and his parents widening as he sought to reconcile his new perspective with what he now recognized as their greed. He struggled greatly with himself, trying to find the line between a healthy level of ambition and knowing when enough was enough. He couldn't seem to escape the desire to rise above others, but he vowed to himself that wherever he ended up, he would try to do his best to better the world for everyone he could, not only himself.
ADULTHOOD
xxx»» Graduation brought with it a set of new challenges, not the smallest of which was deciding what to do. In school he'd covered a lot of ground and made rather impressive marks, leaving him a good many options of what career to pursue. He started out in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office, but ended up transferring to the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee rather quickly once his silver tongue and agreeable demeanor were noticed. He made quite a name for himself as an easy-going, personable man with firm convictions and a kind heart. In time, he set a new goal for himself; he wanted to rise as high as he possibly could, not because where he was currently was unsatisfactory, but because he knew he had more to give than a few pretty lies to cover up magical catastrophes. In time, his diligence paid off; upon the retirement of Gwynfair Wyn, he was approached to run for the office of Minister for Magic. Knowing he would never get such a chance again, he agreed to run, and ended up winning the election by a respectable margin.
