He was staring at his barren bushes outside, contemplating this situation when his email dinged from his computer. He shook his mood aside for the moment and went to check. It could be important news. He clicked into his email and the headline immediately grabbed his attention. He opened it up and started perusing the message. This was good. This was very good. Maybe he could meet his Prince Charming here and start a family, all at the same time.

He’d go to this party, and he’d imbue a stone or three or ten with some of the others there. Hopefully he’d meet the man of his dreams while he was at it too. He grabbed his phone, his coat and his scarf, giving one last look at his barren rosebush as he walked out the door and towards his future children.
