The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

Chalcanthite walked into the area and bowed before his opponent. He was conflicted with fighting Benitoite so soon after spilling most of his guts out to him. But this was a show of strength and he had to push other feelings to the side to avoid from seeming weak to any of the higher ups watching. "I do wish you luck General, may it be a fair fight."
He summoned his bow quietly and stepped back to the edge of the area to get some distance. Drawing a regular arrow, he aimed and took shot at Benitoite. The broad head arrows would only be used in extreme measures, he did not want to maim or seriously injury his opponent. All in all he was slightly hesistant in his actions, even though his calm face may say otherwise.

This wasn't something he'd done before, a competition amongst officers, he'd never bothered with such things before. He'd had at least one of his own involved the last time such a thing had taken place, and he had considered joining in but had avoided it. This time he'd signed himself up, after helping another in his team decide to join in. If he was going to talk one of his own into it than he might as well be involved also, show her what he could do as a leader.
Surprised to see the General facing him he bowed as well. "It's good to see you General, and good luck." This was going to be interesting. He'd not seen the other fight before and knew nothing of what he was getting into here. He knew he could use his smaller, much smaller, size to help him but beyond that...the other had him with reach. This was going to be entertaining really.
Summoning his own weapon he watched the other do the same. Two ranged weapons, though the others was more ranged than his own. Watching an arrow get set up he watched as it was sent his way. With enough time to move he avoided it with ease. His turn now....
With is own weapon in hand he charged the other General and at the last moment he shifted a bit and moved past the other, turned so he was facing the others back, and aimed to hit him with the solid end of his weapon in the back.

Chalcanthite felt the blunt blow of Benitoite's weapon, partially thankfull that it wasn't the sharp end. Almost as a reflex he pulled on of his arrows from the quiver and slashed at the General's side as he passed. It wouldn't be as effective as a shot from a distance but would hurt nonetheless. That was what his true fighting style was like, long range and tricks at close range. Doing what he had to with what was available, something he had picked up long ago. Something about the solidity of the other's weapon made his hesitance cease. Chalcanthite set up a distance again and prepared for another attack.

Spectator
As with Bloodstone, Benitoite's match also appeared to be in the relatively early stages by the time that Reinerite finally had the chance to slip into one of the seats for spectators.
His opponent was a male with long brown hair (Chalcanthite) who appeared to use a bow and arrow for his weapon and Reinerite found herself curious to see how the battle would pan out - because whilst Benitoite also had a ranged weapon, it was hard to get much more ranged than a bow and arrow.

Just because a weapon was ranged never meant it couldn't be used close in, as demonstrated by his fellow General. That arrow to the side was a surprise, one he couldn't block either as he was busy preparing his own attack against the other.
As soon as his own attack connected he was able to feel that the other General's had as well. A slice across his side and blood - nice. Gloved fingers pressed to his side for a moment, watching the other General move to put down some distance again.
Moving to close the distance, his hands sliding into a different position on the shaft of his weapon. It wasn't until he was right up close, enough to swing his weapon, that he swung his weapon up and swung it at the others side. Again he didn't use the bladed side...yet. He was aiming to leave bruises.

Benitoite was still using the blunt end, which was very forgiving compared to what could have been. He was hoping to have as little damage done as possible. Again he jumped back, loosing an arrow at his opponent. Aiming for the wound he had made earlier to hopefully weaken the general further. This time he had chosen to use one of the broad head arrows, it would hopefully remain lodged in his side for at least a few attacks. Experience was one thing Benitoite had in terms of combat. Where Chalcanthite had laid low for years, Benitoite had continued to remain active in his position. But one thing he had learned, was to keep his guard up to prevent any broken bones.

He knew arrows were a deadly thing to come up against, they could get stuck and be a b***h to remove, he knew from this event he'd be going home with injuries to hide from his partner and needing to explain things to his cousin. Cuprite would, no doubt, worry and fret over any injuries he gained from this. Too bad his cousin wasn't here, though perhaps that was a good thing, he needed to work more with his team...especially Cuprite.
The arrow which hit him, as he really didn't have the time to move and avoid it, though he was able to move and ensure it didn't hit anything vital. It did hit, hard, and send him stumbling several steps. The arrow head refusing to be freed from his side as he tried to tug at it. Hissing in pain, the blood ignored even as it stained his uniform, he moved with shaking hands to snap the shaft so it was short - the shorter the better. Keeping it as short as he could, so it didn't hit anything or get pulled, he took a few breaths to steady himself. That hurt and he felt sick, his stomach churning in a really unpleasant way, not a feeling he liked one bit.
His weapon, which he'd dropped in order to focus on the injury, was picked up and the blond gripped at it tightly as he used it as a means to focus and center himself. His side throbbed in time to his heart beat, an odd and rather unpleasant thing really.
Reminding himself that he had suffered worse, that this was nothing, the ashen blond decided to go for blood as well. Time to see just how much he could draw, even if they were team mates he was competitive. He wasn't as fast as he had been before but he still was small and had an easy time getting in close...or at least close enough to slash at the others front with the bladed end of his weapon. A long arching slash.

Chalcanthite froze for just a moment as his arrow struck Benitoite, sending him back. For just a moment he smiled internally at his new found weaponry. Watching carefully for the coming attack, it would come in one of a few ways. Later he would worry about the other's well being, now was a time of battle. Overall his own wounds were starting to ache but he was coming out on top so far even with the lack of experience. Turning as the spear came down, it cut through the side of his uniform revealing pale scars. For just a moment a flash of anger flickered beneath the ice of his eyes. He was not proud of those scars that riddled his body. The hit cut him very lightly causing a slight trickle of blood down his side. As Benitoite passed, he took his chance and hit him. Using his bow as a blunt weapon to drive the arrow deeper into Benitoite. "Sorry... trying to put on a good show. " His tone was cold but sincere.

Surprise flashed across his pale eyes for a moment before giving way to pain. Blood flowed more freely as the arrow was sent deeper into his side, it was not gonna be fun removing it later though de-summoning the weapon might work...right?
Nodding his head to the others words the ashen blond, who looked paler than usual, turned as fast as he could without over balancing and lashed out with his bladed weapon again. This was not going in his favor, which he hadn't gone into this expect. He figured he'd do far better than he was...damn it.

Chalcanthite spun away from the blade but, not quickly enough. It cut through more of his uniform and made a decent gash in his side. Flinching as he touched it, he threw off the damaged outer coat and closed in to hit his opponent with the bow again. Now he stood with just his vest and long sleeved shirt on. Blood slowly staining the white and grey attire he always preferred, This time he aimed for their arm, trying to help decrease the amount of force put behind the spear's blows. Inside he was screaming as age old wounds were beginning to be seen by all who were spectating. In five years of service he had kept the facade of calm and collected going. Never letting anyone know what was only beneath a few thing layers of clothes. Anger kept growing at his weakness being shown but it wasn't the other's fault. He couldn't be mad at them for something that wasn't known.

Sweating, he really had too many layers on, the General took the time recovering from the latest hit to remove his coat and cape. Leaving himself in a shirt and vest much like his fellow General.
His arm, when hit, was both a good and a bad thing. It made his hand spasm and let go of his weapon. The pain shot down to his finger tips and up towards his shoulder, like having the funnybone hit. It wasn't funny though, when was being hit there ever funny? At least it wasn't the wound in his side being hit again though, a plus in his book.
Clenching and unclenching his fingers before grabbing his weapon in his gloved hand, fingers tightly wrapped around the shaft. He had to do better and this needed to end soon. He was feeling a bit, or maybe more than a bit, light headed and his side still throbbed and stung. His arm he knew was going to sport a nasty bruise as well, he hoped someone had a starseed around or maybe an energy orb or two for when this was over.
He could have aimed to smack the other with the end of his weapon but he did. Instead he aimed for stabbing towards Chalcanthite, he wasn't aiming for anywhere which would kill the other...he wasn't that vicious with his own.

The next hit was slow and sluggish, he dodged once more causing more of his outfit to get sliced. The hit was not as deep as the last one but they were starting to take their toll on him. Leaping back, he took aim and loosed another broad head arrow towards Benitoite, aiming for another spot on his damaged side. After the arrow left his bow, his free hand reached down to cover the hole in his clothing. Applying pressure to the larger wounds helped him maintain his mobility. Soon, he hoped, his opponent would falter and discard their weapon for a melee approach. In the end a brawl may be easier on the two of them in terms of injury. He felt bad and would assist the other with recovery as best he could once everything was all over.
