The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!

The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.

OOC RULES:

- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.

- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.

- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.

- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!

THE MECHANICS

Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!

Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)

( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )

Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!

The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

"You're going to be just fine," General Tourmaline murmured in a soft, reassuring tone as she escorted the young senshi towards her ring. She would have her own spar to fight, certainly, and others to observe as well, but she wasn't going to just leave her newest recruit completely on her own. During the last tournament her own pack had been there for her. She would do no different for those she had taken under her wing.

---

"I know," Cursa muttered in return as she adjusted her gloves, tugging them back up until the black cuffs settled just beneath her elbows. She had no doubt that she would be just fine. She had more than enough confidence for herself, and likely the rest of their 'team' when it came to most things...

"You should be more worried about the boys anyway, boss. I've got this."

It was a curious chance to learn more about others within the Negaverse. As a spectator, or as a participant. Never mind a prime chance to determine strengths and weaknesses against different opponents outside of a potentially more devastating battlefield. That was how Rigel approached things as he entered the ring, amused and excited to find how things would unfold. This was just a larger, more visible, practice spar.

Why worry if he should win or loose? Either outcome, he'd learn what he'd need to for his own improvement. Though he was immensely bemused by the possible joke of not killing one's opponent. Not necessarily something he felt concerned with for the match he now stood in, but it definitely made him make a mental note to watch some of the fights for the higher ranking officers and senshi.

Rigel offered a smile and wave to his opponent though. Another corrupt senshi, one with a rather cute uniform. Really, he should do more to actually meet others there. He was missing out on a lot of potentially interesting stories.

What do you really even say to people in things like this though? Best of luck was cocky--and realistically, Rigel knew he wasn't a great fighter--and everything else that came to mind didn't quite fit. So he settled at length with a simple, "It's nice to meet you. Here's to a fun match!"

Beatrix took a seat among the spectators, carefully tucking her hair back and out of the way of anyone sitting beside her. It was a very new experience for her, as she had only been part of the Negaverse for a few weeks. It seemed interesting but she felt that watched other senshi would be more educational than watching the officers.

Something about the tattered looking senshi looked neat, in her mind that was the horse she would root for in the violent event. "You can do that thing person! GET HER!!!" She had no idea of anyone's name but hell if she wasn't going to participate and root them on.

While she could have stood around waiting to chit-chat and make friends that wasn't why she was there, and it certainly wasn't why General Tourmaline was in the stands watching. More than the other members of their rag-tag band, Sailor Cursa, Senshi of Ostriches, had something to prove. She needed to prove to the charcoal and pink nightmare that she wasn't a mistake or a liability just because she was a few short weeks away from her eighteenth birthday.

She flashed a brief smile at Sailor Rigel and instead of saying 'Nice to meet you too!' or 'The pleasure's all mine!' the long-legged, dark haired senshi could be heard saying 'Sorry' right before uttering the name of her attack as she shifted on her feet.

"Cursa's Flight."

A burst of energy rushed through her and, unlike the first time she'd released her power, this time Cursa rode it out, using the momentum to propel herself forward at Rigel in an attempt to start the fight off by tackling them.

Sailor Scout Attack: Cursa's Flight

Upon releasing the energy stored for her attack, Cursa is granted an immediate speed boost. This boost allows her to put fast distance between herself and her opponent-- or a quick charge forward into her opponent (rush tackle).

Distance: Up to 5 feet per burst of speed.

Uses: Max of 3 with each one leaving Cursa more tuckered out. Cannot be used in rapid succession-- must wait at least 10-15 seconds for recharge.

Rigel wasn’t like his other recruits. He hadn’t been hand picked out of the lot of civilians that wandered aimlessly through the streets. Instead, he’d been chosen because of his association to the White Moon. To make his family suffer, knowing they could do nothing to save him from his fate.

It seemed so long ago. Jet knew he’d been young and tended to jump into things without thinking them through, but he was growing and changing like the rest of them all were.

Jet sat and watched, wanting to see what Rigel was capable of more than anything else. Win or lose, they would use this experience to further their training.

After seeing to it that Cursa made it to the arena General Tourmaline had retreated to the stands, lingering off to the side until another General arrived to watch the start of the match. She approached him silently, taking a seat just off to his side. Eventually she leaned in just a little bit closer, curiosity getting the best of her. "Is that one yours?"

Feathers, plus flight being in the magic's name.... ok, so her sphere was something to do with some sort of avian, and he could make a guess to which one. In retrospect, the fact she had ostriches feathers should have been the tell-tale sign from the beginning, but without being flat-out told, could anyone ever really be sure they were guessing right?

But her tackle hit like a truck, and Rigel grunted at the impact as he was knocked backwards, hitting the ground. Close quarters though, he could still lash out, kicking out towards her legs before pushing himself to his knees, then feet.

Cursa's legs were important to her; more important than her opponent knew. Negaverse aside, her legs were part of her future and a driving force behind who she was. Having seen what could happen to someone when that was taken away, the young Senshi of Ostriches was determined to defend herself.

The kick caught her thigh and she hissed, unable to get back up on her feet but determined to do something more than just lie there while her magic recharged. She was in a fight and she had to think fast.

Cursa reached for Rigel's ankle as the other senshi got up, attempting to trip him up again if she was able to.

Lalande had come along with Tourmaline, not having entered the tournament himself knowing he wouldn't have been able to deal with it. Super powers or no he still had fake joints and he couldn't afford to have those knocked around until he knew what his new limits were. A tournament against strangers wasn't the place to do that.

But he could come support Cursa.

"YOU CAN DO IT!" He was at the edge of the stands so hopefully Cursa would be able to hear him. She at least had a good chance to do something fun even if he couldnt.

A part of Rigel actually wanted to really apologize, but well. Perhaps that was best left till after the match? No matter who won, surely it was still acceptable to wish an opponent well?

But when the girl grabbed his ankle, Rigel did yelp as he was pulled back down, landing hard on his knees. Making a face, lips pursed a bit out of a growing frustration, he tried to twist his body, swinging his other heel at her arm gripping his leg.

"Sorry!" The word still slid out quick as he tried to scramble away, attempting to put some distance between them. If only to catch his breath and think a little.

Theoretically, very theoretically, Larimar should have been spectating the matches of their teammates and acting as emotional support from the bleacher equivalent - they had some sort of obligation to it, they felt - but until those matches came they were plenty happy to sit and watch Senshi fight it out like fashion models with a deathwish. There was a lot to think about, there, how fuku related to name related to sphere, especially for those that didn't take a mineral name like both of the Senshi here - but they weren't the type to take notes.

They sat and watched, eyes bright, lips thin.

Here the two were weaker, less flashy in outfit as well, than Adamantine and Kamacite - but that was just power, and that couldn't be the be all end all of their analysis (not that it was much of one, anyways). Cursa, clear-eyed in black and pink and white, half gloved hands - woefully underdressed for a fight, even compared to Rigel, who they'd nigh instantaneously deemed a faux-Lovecraftian raver reject. It was nothing against him, of course. (Probably.) His outfit stood as the most plausible, the most battle ready, of any Senshi they'd seen (which was a small base for comparison, and yet, still considerably damning); a nightmare of costuming, in bone heels and faux-reversed ribcage. It was easy to think of it the way it'd bother to be replicated, the way it'd cause trouble with its' intentional tatters - they liked it, even if it was somewhat of a Tim Burton pretense at horror, overwrought.
Ah, well. It wasn't like they intended to talk to Rigel or Cursa after the match. What did it matter if their words were a little cruel when it came to celestial outfit design? This was all a 'friendly' tournament (yeah, friendly, Larimar had seen those generals going at each other with deadly weapons; looked real, real friendly. Real friendly, when that Senshi girl had started choking her opponent to death when the guy was already about to faint, like a tiny timebomb they felt they should probably stay away from for their mental health and personal safety - people with that kind of tendency made terrible leading roles).

A dark-haired Corrupt girl was a few seats away, her cloud of hair obscuring any details of the rest of her aside from waving arms. (It seemed impractical. Why didn't these people just carry around scissors at all times, like a reasonable person?) General Jet was further away, and Tourmaline near him - Generals with some vested interest in one of the Senshi before them? It didn't seem unreasonable. Maybe other Generals didn't primarily recruit Lieutenants out of teenage girls and their besotted Senshi girlfriends.

It would be silly to have a preference in this fight, or any vested interest; Larimar didn't know these Senshi - but they sort of wanted Cursa to win, just a little. She moved like - were they seeing that right? they leaned forward, squinting - yeah, they were seeing that right - she moved like a dancer, if they weren't looking too far into it, seeing symbols when none existed. They could appreciate a performer.

"You're not sorry!" The teen huffed, eyes narrowing as she pushed herself off of the ground. Her arm throbbed where his heel had made contact, angry tears welling up involuntarily over pretty blue eyes. If he was sorry he wouldn't have done it at all... Which, she supposed, meant that she also hadn't been sorry for hitting him the first time either.

Lalande, her teammate, was cheering her on for the stands. That little bit of support and reassurance meant a lot and she was certain that he knew that. It was thanks to him she'd been given this chance in the first place-- not at the Tournament, ******** the Tournament, but at being something more.

Cursa couldn't let him down any more than she could afford to look like an idiot in front of General Tourmaline.

Dusting herself off, ignoring the ache in her arm, the Senshi of Ostriches planted herself, doing a little shimmy before tapping into her magic again. "Cursa's Flight!"

Jet looked up when a woman approached him. Another General, although he couldn’t remember having officially met her before.

“Sort of,” he said when she asked. “Is that one yours?” he asked in return, nodding to the other senshi in the ring. Rigel was a complicated case, and he wasn’t entirely sure of his loyalty, but at least it seemed as though he was making an effort to actually fight.

“Jet. Nice to meet you,” he said with a nod to the other General.

SPECTATOR

Gadolinite had never met Rigel before, but he'd heard the name a few times, mostly from Jet. In the last few months, he'd spent the majority of his time working; and when he wasn't working, he was patrolling and gathering energy, and when he wasn't working or patrolling and gathering energy, he was trying to figure out how to deal with the fact that his husband had come back and was now in his life again.

And still trying to divorce him, but that was beside the point. Or rather, it was the entire point, Gadolinite just didn't want to think about it. Or about Lev at all. Or about Lev continually in his line of vision no matter where he turned. Or about anything involving his husband, whom he was still married to, whom he didn't actually want to divorce, no matter what actually happened between them, and whom he kept trying to push off and ignore because he didn't want to think about everything else that he'd currently just said he didn't want to think about.

Gadolinite's mind was a hilariously complicated thing sometimes. He wished it wasn't.

He would, however, be quite happy to observe the goings on of a fight he wasn't currently participating in. The tournament had arrived too late for Gadolinite to actually sign up for it; he'd been distracted by a myriad of other things, and therefore had entirely missed it. But he'd come to watch, mostly to see if there was anything interesting around while simultaneously taking meticulous mental notes of who was strong and who he needed to watch out for and who was weak.

Jet was here, of course, all things considered; Gadolinite could see his general across the way, but stayed where he was. he'd already spoken to him elsewhere, in another fight, he didn't need to constantly be dogging Jet's heels, especially not when Gadolinite was here mostly just to observe.

Besides, Jet was talking to someone in neon pink, and Gadolinite was much more comfortable standing over here, away from the pair of them, and everyone else, for that matter. His mind was not entirely settled from everything that had happened; and regardless of how much he attempted to let it slide by him, Lev's reappearance was at the forefront of his thoughts even as Gadolinite's gaze swept over the training ground, watching the two senshi move.

Rigel seemed adept. Cursa, he thought the other's name was, seemed equally as interesting. Gadolinite tried to force his attentions back to the matter at hand, teeth gritted together. He wasn't going to get anywhere if he kept losing focus; it was bad enough that he had to struggle through things as a civilian, he was not about to let things get even worse when he was powered up. Not when he had starseeds to yank and energy to siphon off and a general to report to, as much as he both liked and respected Jet. He wasn't going to do anything stupid.

Not anymore.

Gadolinite dragged his attention back to the fight, tapping a finger against his arm. It was a monumental effort.
