Dakota hadn't been back on the island long when he was given the task of checking in with other hunters. He wasn't sure who was who in the tournament but that didn't really mean a thing.
What he was after was who among the group showed promises in a fight.
"Hello." He somberly looked at his opponent before stretching, the dark mist jacket set to the side for the fight and Chara summoned.
The phoenix rumbled, making the mist hunter roll his eyes.

The person Zeke found himself standing across from on the sandy shore wasn't anyone he'd been expecting to see at this thing. Dakota hadn't been around in years, he wasn't sure how many, but long enough that the former Mist couldn't recall having seen him at the last two division meetings. It had him arching a brow at the other man, lips ticking up on one side in a crooked smirk. "Thought you got eaten by a monster, or something." He wondered if the other man even remembered him. On his shoulder, an impressive looking ax with blue runes along the blades, larger than was strictly practical, but he didn't seem to have any trouble wielding it. Duel blades, etched feather and winged motif, with bound leather wrapping down the handle to a short length of chain. In his head, Lagertha gave an excited keen. "Ready to play?" The ax came down as Zeke shifted into a more balanced stance.

Hikaru had heard about the Tourney, and had almost signed up for it, but decided to hold off for now. She was still WAY inexperienced with her claws, and didn't want to get hurt. But she had been curious as to who would be fighting, and when she saw Zeke's name on the board, she had grinned and nodded. She could go see the tall man fight, and cheer him on. It DID say spectators were welcome, after all. She checked for where it said his match was to be held, then got herself a big scrappy blanket, and headed down to the beach. She spotted Zeke and grinned, then waved, before settling herself to one side, knees tucked demurely under herself, so she wasn't flashing anything. "Go, Zeke! You can do it!" She gave the dude she did not know a polite, slightly apologetic, smile, but... well she didn't know him. And she DID know Zeke.

Of course Nick couldn't resist showing up at her longest-lasting guardian's tournament fight. To show support or something. But Zeke already had someone cheering for him so... "Hey Mr. ********' Serious!" She shouted down at the tall dude, Zeke's opponent, grinning rebelliously. "GIVE HIM HELL!"

Oh, support from the sidelines! How nice. Zeke flicked a glance to Hika perched demurely on a blanket to the side, flashing her a roguish grin before Nick's shrill shout in opposition had him rolling his eyes. It was time to start this thing. Dakota looked ready enough. The sand wasn't ideal, not for a weapon as heavy as his. Not at all, really. He pushed off, sliding a little as it shifted underfoot, but managed to bring the broad, larger blade around in a cross body swipe directed at the other man's torso. HP: 60 DMG: 3

Hika blinked at the other cheerers, curious about them. They were loud, young, and aggressive. Well, she wasn't inviting THEM to sit on her towel. She glanced back just in time to see the roguish grin, and she flushed, but clapped as he hit the other man. She couldn't really tell, after all, how well Zeke was doing, but she was here to show her support, and while she didn't have a cheerleading outfit or something, she was still going to do her best. She found herself vaguely wondering if she could modify a cheongsam into some kind of hybrid cheerleader uniform, and then shook her head at the ridiculousness of it.

"Close." Dakota gace a small smile, because he might've as well have been eaten. It was hard to remember who was who when you weren't on an Island anymore.
"What is with this island and axes." Her looked at the large weapon as it came swinging towards him, immediately thinking of Rep and his large one. If he could dodge that....
The swipe came at his chest and instinctively he jumped back enough that it didn't cleave fully into the fear shield, barely knicking at it.
At the sound of the female voice, he looked over and squinted at someone who SUSPICIOUSLY looked a lot like a hunter he once knew.
With his attention back on the fight, He swung the sword at the open area of Zeke's axe swing.

Tommy sauntered up, late, but still tagging along like a lost little puppy with his two friends, whom he approached with an easy smile, two hands coming to rest on each Iskander's shoulder and Nick's. "Ya ******** fight?" He asked the latter with a teasing grin, and rolled his head to the side to knock against hers. "Who is it that is winning?"

Zeke smirked, flashing teeth. "Versatility?" Axes probably weren't the most challenging weapons to start of with, at least not smaller ones. But he couldn't say for sure, having never had anything else. Dakota had rushed in to take advantage of an opening, sword taking a decent bite from Zeke's shield. "Not rusty, I see." He was going to have to get a bit more serious if he wanted to win this. He shifted his group on the handle, hands sliding back a bit to maximize his reach. Then, feet planted, he brought the large weapon up to thrust the sharped blade tips at the mass of Dakota's body. HP: 53 DMG: 10

"Hell if I know," Nick snorted, eagerly taking in the fight. The first time she got to witness full hunters dealing out damage was with that giant lobster golem thing, but in a way this was more impressive. Both Zeke and Mr. Serious were much harder targets than a huge-a** monster. Still, she was excellent at disguising how impressed she was, and continued with what could only be... encouragement... "YOU GOTTA DO BETTER THAN A ******** PILLOW FIGHT!!!"

"Hah!" Dakota made a small sound, and as the large axe literally blew a chunk of his fear shield, made a small sound of sadness. "Jesus, gone for so long and everyone toting Rep powered swings, I cannot ******** handle."
He took a moment to regain his bearings, before pushing off again. For being the size he was as a hunter, speed still remained his best asset in the fight. He threw Chara down to his left hand, ducking around Zeke and slashing at his midsection.
The phoenix shrilled in his head as he connected hard and another small smirk played on his lips.
"You don't get rusty on the Island unless your a pencil pusher." Dakota tucked and rolled away, "I happen to not do that in my spare time." He was back up on his feet and rolling his head. "Good to know you aren't bad yourself."

At six foot tall, Zeke was by no means a sheet man, but Dakota had him beat. Hell, Dakota made him feel dainty by comparison. Longer legs and longer arms were an advantage, and the taller man knew how to use them. The slash to the gut had him grunting, breath hissing out threw his teeth. "Can't let an old ******** like you show me up too easily. That's just embarrassing." They probably weren't that far apart in age... What Zeke had to bring to the table was per, if he could connect. The ax was heavy, and he had plenty of muscles to wield it. Choking up on the handle, he stepped in, trying to catch the other man while he was still close, with an underhand sweep. HP: 43 DMG: well
