Ōutsíde ℣ale is a serene forest along with a towering mountain. Despite it's natural beauty this area is full of danger. Many of the creatures of grimm wander these lands, some of which attempt to damage the walls of the city. As far as anyone is aware there are no forms of civilised life outside the walls of ℣ale, whether this is true has yet to be confirmed.
Sasha got back to the villain base, which wasn’t much of a base. But they had a room available for their hostage/leverage. Keeping the mask on she walked into the room with her wolf. The girl began to freak out, wiggling and struggling from the bindings. Raising the cloned scroll she took a picture and sent it to Joji. Adding a message to it as well. "Do as I say and she will will. Don’t and you will receive a 'package' and she will get hurt." She smiled and went over to the girl. "You will prove to be useful.”
She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
It had been about a week since the attack on Beacon. The bomb had wrecked havoc upon the school, injuring many and taking a couple of students down with it. In its wake there had been destruction and chaos, agony and suffering but not just physically. You could rebuild a building, put a school back together. With the right medics and care, a body will heal itself of physical ailments. A broken heart was different. The emotional pain that losing a loved one was something that never really left you. It marked you with it's own scars, invisible to the eye but no less real. They say that time could heal any wound. Ridley had been faced with that peace of advice several times throughout her life. Yet, she didn't believe it anymore now than she ever had.
There was some pain that just never went away.
Donnelly was gone. Lunesta was gone. They would never open their eyes again. Never smile. Never speak. Never laugh. They were but found memories they would all keep close to their hearts. Their deaths had struck a chord with all of them. Though, there were those that had taken a bigger hit than others. Head Master Autrox had lost his dear sister. Many had lost a close friend. Ridley had felt this loss. First with her mother. Then again with her sister. It was a pain so thick you could choke on it. An aging so harsh it took a peace of you with it forever. It could be maddening. Intoxicating. It made it hard to see the point of the future, the point of existence, the point of life at all. Pale fingers, almost sunconciously, reached under her cloak, trailing up the long scars on her wrist that her golden gauntlets concealed from the world.
Ridley knew more than anyone how easy it was to be consumed by this pain. She also knew that it never really went away. It dulled over time. The harsh throbbing becoming a dull pang that always spiked at memories of them. You never stopped missing them. Never forgot the hole in your chest that their death had stolen. You just had to find away to move on. Keeping their memories dear. The pain a constant reminder in the back of your mind.
Today their way of coping was revenge. Or at least that's the way Ridley saw it. They were going to save the remainder of missing students and along the way they were going to give these bandits a peace of their mind. Teach them a lesson with the same pain and trauma they had wrecked upon them. Just the thought of these bandits made Ridley's blood boil. Her fists clenched tightly at her side, knuckles turning white, nails digging into her pale flesh, not even realizing how tight she was squeezing her hands closed until her nails broke skin. She sucked in a sharp hiss of air, forcing her fists open once more. They ached slightly with the release of tension. The gi then let out a long breath, shaking her head to clear it. She couldn't let her anger get the best of her. She need to focus and keep her mind on the mission at hand.
Her team was working with one other, Team SODA. They had been sent to the outskirts, charged with cutting off any of the bandits who tried to flee as well as hopefully infiltrate from behind while another set of teams ambushed the bandits head on. It was going to be challenging, but Ridley wasn't afraid. Not for herself at least. If anything she was looking forward to the challenge. There was one slight concern of hers, and that was for Cecil's health. He had taken a bad hit at the bombing. He legs had been rendered useless for several days. He was really only just now getting mobility back. He was strong though. He would be okay. Or at least that's what she kept telling herself. He wasn't alone. He had both herself and Azura, plus the members of Team SODA to rely on if need be. All that was left now was to collect themselves and set their plan in motion.

As Ridley was waiting, she could feel that the atmosphere's temperature had dropped, it was an obvious calling card. Cecil was the 2nd to arrive at the scene, despite his now screwed back, he was forcing his body to move at this point. In his right hand was the drawn rapier as his bangs covered his eyes, letting him focus on walking with hair in his vision's path save for the ground. It was not long before his method of walking was finally revealed, a frozen and chipped ice sword that had been fashioned into that of a simple cane. He stopped mere feet away from Ridley, tossing his hair back and over his head so he could see her. "Just because I have a messed up back, does not mean I can't come and help." He informed her as he was keeping himself standing.

Grass, dirt and leaves were crushed beneath his sneakers as he arrived at the edge of the city. Even though time has passed he could still smell the scent of smoke and seared and burning flesh. He kicked a rock and launched it through the treeline. "Damn rock!" he grunted in frustration. He took a deep breath and did what he always did to calm himself down. He shined his weapons. Keeping them in pristine shiny condition. The more he walked he could hear the voice of a male. "Hopefully it's one of the people I'm linkin' up with." he said holstering Nice. He rounded the corner and saw two people. A man with brown hair and a drop of temperature around his immediate area. It could be the girl, but the ice cane leads him to believe the cause is from him. The other person on the Outskirts with the man was a young lady who's outfit is very sparkly and shiny. Needless to say he found her to be quite a looker. He slowly approached them both, zipped his jacket to the chin and placed his hands in his pockets. "Are you guys apart of ARCB?" he asked. Adam approached them a bit more and introduced himself. "Name's Adam. Adam Argent from SODA. Koo to meet you." he said nodding to the both of them. He was a bit confused as to why the man was out and about if he was injured to such a degree, but if he can drag himself all the way out here his resolve was not to be questioned. "What's your callsigns?" he asked. He grabbed his glasses and began to shine and clean them after asking for their names out of habit.

✘ Profile ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ Garret had been traveling for a bit of time, taking in the city around him as he did so. Though everything seemed relatively calm in his room, he found actually being in the crowds below was a lot more chaotic. People were rushing through the area trying to get to some place before some hidden deadline expired. That combined with the mob like movement as people were mostly restricted to the same lanes of travel instinctively would make anyone aware they were not even remotely alone. Garret wasn't sure what he felt about it. He was completely unused to being in places so crowded and busy, having primarily gone through smaller areas where there were less people. It also made him self conscious of the fact that fighting in an area like this would leave him at an extreme disadvantage if people remained crowded like this. His grip on Heir would tighten a little as the thought came to his mind, knowing he would hardly be able to draw Virtue should anything happen. Still, he pushed the thoughts from his mind and instead focused on the area around him as he walked. The city itself seemed relatively advanced to what he had been accustomed to, though so far he had only been in the residential district, and he was unsure if that were good or bad. He hoped it meant it would be far more defensible should the time arrived, but he knew that could breed complacency in those defending it. While he worked alone primarily to not endanger another's life, it had the effect of making sure others did not endanger his.
The crowds around Garret would thin and dissipate as he neared the outskirts of the town itself. He had heard that travel by boat and airship was the most common method of travel, but he preferred to walk. It left him in control of what happened rather than entrusting his life to another and thus also having their lives entrusted to him. It was also the primary method of travel he was used to given his life, having to go through forest and wilderness all the while avoiding Grimm when able. It also seemed to have the added effect of giving him a bit of breathing room now. It was by now that he noticed the ever increasing size of the walls as his path led him directly to them. They were impressive to say the least, and seemingly well guarded from what he could tell. He hoped they would face up to the challenge of the Grimm if presented, but there was no way to tell that except by seeing it happen. As Garret glanced around, it seemed only those intent on leaving the city were still following this path. A few had some bags with supplies, others some basic methods of transporting cargo. Some even seemed as if they were about to go on a hunt...though for those Garret was sure it only meant for food or sport rather than for Grimm.
As Garret made his way along the path, a large gate would be visible. Just by looking at it he could see it had faced the test of battle as there were places where it seemed to have taken at least a few hits. There were many more visible guards here than he had seen on the wall in terms of guard per space. It made sense to him as the gate would need to be regularly opened and closed, making it a weak point in their defense. The guards here were standing at alert, and as Garret drew nearer all seemed to be clear from what he could see. Then again, Grimm bodies did not remain very long after they had been slain. 'Given the gate has not been breached, these men must do their jobs well.' Garret would think to himself. Which would make them worthy warriors in his mind. He had the thought to potentially spar one of them or all at some point in time and see how they would compare to him, but for now he had a task that needed completion. Assuming Garret would need permission to exit through the gates as to make sure nothing got in, he would go to the nearest guard with a friendly smile on his face and give a short bow. "Well met. I seek passage through these gates. Who would I need to speak to?" The guard would merely point him over to where another man stood a little away from the gates before lowering his arm and resuming his watch. "Thank you for the assistance." Garret would say while still smiling to the man and walking to the man he had been directed to. He figured he would be seeing more of these people due to his job and as such he would have to interact with them often. And given that their job was already the defense of the city, he saw no reason not to be friendly with them.
Garret slowly walked over to the man in charge, Virtue lightly bouncing on his back and the blunt end of Heir would tap onto the ground lightly as he used it as a pseudo walking stick. His satchel would bounce against his side as well, not much due to him walking slowly, but still doing so nonetheless. The man turned to Garret as he approached him, a small group of people grouped nearby. Glancing to them, Garret assumed it was a group that was to be let out soon. Turning to directly face the man, Garret would confidently speak. "Greetings and well met. I have been told you are the one to seek to leave through the gates. Had I more time I would stay and converse, but I have business I must attend to in beacon. When do these gates open?" The other man would regard Garret for a few moments, and then gesture to the crowd beside him. He would explain them to be a caravan that was going to head out soon if he wished to travel with them. Garret merely shook his head. "I will be traveling by myself as I find it draws less attention." Garret would merely respond in a tone that said there would be no changing his mind. The guard gave him a look before motioning for the gates to be opened. Bowing to the man in thanks, an arrogant smile on his face, Garret would step through the gates and exit into the outskirts, heading in the general direction of where he was told Beacon would be. ✘ Post count: 2 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC: Entering outskirts (Just entering from the Vale residential end)

Azura Knight
Her other two teammates were already waiting when Azura rounded the corner, along with a male she recognized from team SODA. A pang of guilt went through her at the sight of Cecil leaning on his cane up ahead. The irrational survivors guilt of making it through the blast unscathed while others were injured or killed, thanks to Nyx protecting her from the blast. However she knew Cecil wouldn’t want anyone taking pity on him or treating him any different. If he felt he was ready to go out on a mission it wasn’t for her to tell him that he shouldn’t. At least unless it became evident he was a harm to himself or the team. All that logical reasoning Azura told herself wouldn’t stop her from worrying internally however. She fixed a polite and reserved smile on her lips as she approached the group. “Hey.” She gave Cecil and Ridley a small wave and a nod before turning her attention to Adam. “A pleasure to formally meet you. My name is Azura.” She offered her name in case he didn’t recognize her as she had him.
Onyxia walked to the meeting spot. Shotguns and Shield in hand for anything. Ready for anything that may come. Coming up behind Adam she had arms folded. "He's not harassing you is he?" She chuckled a little and stepped beside Adam. "None of us have call signs. We are the escape team, our task is to cover the assault teams." She had a slight growl of annoyance. She lived for missions like this, it was like back in Atlas before the fall. She was good at missions of mass destruction. "Onyxia." Giving Azura a small wave.

Cecil's voice cut through her parade of thoughts and she tilted her head up, turning her golden gaze to him. At first she let out a long sigh at his comment. However, she couldn't help the smile that was tugging at the corners of her lips. She didn't even put in the effort to attempt and hide it. He had a point after all, and she couldn't deny the fact that she would feel the same way if the situation was reversed. She wouldn't want to be forced to stay behind while her team went off to fight no matter what state she was in. "Fine... you're right. Just be careful. Okay?" Normally a response like that might have elicited a playful punch to the arms or jab to the rings from Ridley, but she held herself back at the sight of his ice cane. She didn't want to accidentally knock him over.
It wasn't long before another student joined them. He must have been a part of Team SODA seeing as she didn't recognize him. She hadn't had the opportunity to meet him yet. As he approached him, he confirmed that fact for them as well as introducing himself. "Team ARCB, at your service." She joked, raising her hand to her forehead in a salute before breathing out a small laugh. "I'm Ridley. Ridley Delmhorst. It's nice to meet you."She said, just as Azura joined their little group. She smiled at the girl and sent a little wave her way. Azura was followed by another girl from Team SODA Onyxia. Shebhadn't ever met her either. She sent the newcomer a friendly nod before turning her golden gaze, landing her eyes on each of them in turn as a small smirk grew on her lips. "You guys ready to kick some bandit butt?"

He placed his glasses back onto his face once they were to his satisfaction. He chuckled a bit at her joke. "At ease." he said through a slight smile. "Fasho, Ridley. Good to meet you." Adam heard soft footsteps round the corner and looked to see a somewhat familiar face. "She must be a student." he thought. Clearly. She introduced herself as Azura. She has soft blue eyes with a nice shine to her raven black hair. She recognized him from his team and he felt a small pang of guilt that he didn't know who she was in the same respect. "Adam." he said in response to her respectful introduction. He took his fist out of his pocket and held it towards her for dap. Then he heard a familiar voice. "I ain't harassin' anymore than you are, Shadow Rider." he responded to his teammate. He tapped her shield with his fist with a small smile. "I'm glad you're alright." he said to her. "Any word from Damien or Scylla?" he asked her. He turned back to Ridley and nodded. "I'm up for it today." he said.

Cecil could hear others arriving as he moved, taking the steps a bit carefully till he stood beside Ridley as he looked at the people arriving. The group consisting of his other ally named Azura, followed by members of team Soda... which was something he could never understand as to why it was named as such. "Your team name... the title... is that suppose to be a color? or a name of a literal soda?" He asked of Adam before his teammate arrived, causing him to tilt his head. Names were being thrown left and right before he looked down to his weapon and cane. He looked up and soon said, "Cecil.... Cecil Roydon." He told the new people before he heard Ridley's question. "Yes.... but make sure to save me one.... I wish to take my time with him."

Voices could be heard as Scylla walked down with her two friends Tethys and Lethe. Tethys was taller then her and Lethe was shorter. Though it was clear that Lethe was maybe only 13 or 14 at most. "Why haven't we done the ritual and sent those souls yet? We shouldn't wait too long you know. We're supposed to do it as soon as we can." Lethe asked looking up to Scylla as they walked. "Lethe I know, I only waited because more people are going to die today. Doing the Ritual twice is wasteful." Tethys nodded in understanding and smiled at Scylla. "Just like you to not care if it is enemy or friend. You'll send them all just the same. Oh seems we are here....well we'll just be over here. You don't need us for this one." The two took a step back and let Scylla step up.
Scylla stepped up to the teams not looking like her usual self. She was not pained like some people might expect, she was just simply serious. "I'm the captain of Team SODA Scylla Tempest. And for this operation, I'll be taking charge of the joint operation. Normally I don't like to be uncool and boss people around, but for this time I have to make an exception. We are going to do this mission simple and clean. We kill those who do not surrender. You kill them quick, there will be no taking your time." It seemed she had heard the conversation the others all had. Her semblance at work again once again. She turned and looked at Cecil to see if he got the memo. "If anyone has a problem with it, then leave. If not then that's all there is to say. Except for watch out for when I strum my guitar. You do not want to be in front of me when I do that unless you enjoy your eardrums getting burst. You can talk to each other about your semblances or not, it's up to you." With that she sat down legs crossed her guitar leaning against her shoulder. Her eyes were closed and she said nothing else. Her two friends just watched.
Onyxia nodded as she took in names. Though what Adam said made her shake her head. "Call signs are usually shorter." About to say more Scylla came marching up. She could tell Scylla was serious, not just by what she said but how she acted. "Scylla, I know you don’t like taking orders, but this isn’t an op you want to claim control of." They were the escape team meaning the covered the teams leaving. Wasn’t glamorous but it was beyond crucial, they couldn’t afford to be hot headed and vengeful. Going over to Scylla and squatting down before her. "If you are staying on this sole leader path... don’t let vengeance blind you. Our mission and people come first, emotions second."
She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The smirk on the brunette's lips did nothing but grow at the responses from Adam and Cecil. "Good, good. When we're through with them they wish they never messed with us." At Cecil's next comment Ridley gave a small nod, nudging the guy gently in the side as he moved closer to her. "Right. I'll save one special for you. I promise." She assured him. Ridley could understand why Cecil might be angry or seeking some sort of retribution. He had taken a bad blow in the bombing. One that if it weren't for all the incredible medics that had treated him, may have stolen his legs from him. Ended his career as a Hunter before it ever really started. In comparison, Ridley had gotten off easy. A few minor cuts and bruises. The most serious of them had been the gash on her forehead. She had lost quite a bit of blood from that one, ended up with some stitches and a slight concussion, but that wasn't inhibiting her now like Cecil's injury was. Other than the occasion sting, she could almost forget it was there entirely.
Ridley was pulled from her thoughts once more as yet another person joined them. A spunky looking girl with a guitar that she could only assume was her weapon, considering it would be pretty useless out here otherwise. She was about to introduce herself, but Scylla beat her to it. The words that followed struck a chord with Ridley. The smirk that had been dancing across her lips was quickly replaced with a frown. Her brows furrowed together slightly in frustration. It wasn't so much that Ridley didn't like being bossed around, granted if she were being honest she hated it. Still, she could follow sensible orders without putting up too much of a fuss. More so it was the way Scylla had executed her orders, how she had marched in and claimed she was in charge without the consideration of anyone else's opinion that bothered her. Ridley didn't even necessarily disagree with what they girl was suggesting. They needed to incapacitate anyone that didn't surrender and be careful not to let anyone slip by or escape. Though, Ridley would never force someone to kill another person. That was a bit harsh. It could break someone. She also didn't really mind if Cecil took his time with them. He was going to be moving at a bit of a slower pace than the rest of them anyway.
Taking in a deep breath to ensure her frustration didn't get the better of her, Ridley took a step forward, clearing her throat softly as her golden gaze fell upon Scylla. "Ridley, leader of Team ARCB. Its a pleasure to meet you." She stated, making an attempt to be polite. There was no point in going at it with her. They needed to keep their real enemies in mind. "You are welcome to order your own team around, as I have no say in that, but my team listens to me. More importantly, we work together. Just like we need to work together if we want to succeed." She stated simply, working on expressing her feelings with logic and doing to best to keep the irritation out of her voice. "We work together, or not at all." She added after a moment, crossing her arms over her chest. She thought about adding something like 'If you don't like it than you can leave', but she quite literally bit her tongue to hold the rods back. Saying something like that wouldn't do anything to help the situation. Granted, it might have made her feel a little better.
