The night was young, though cold, and Carnelian hated to be uncomfortable. The corrupted senshi was happily lounging above a diner, where the heating vents kept him cozy warm. He'd snatched up a plate from the kitchen earlier, waltzing in and teleporting back out before anyone could catch him. The ceramic plate sat next to him on the ground - a hearty, if somewhat plain steak dinner. Plenty of protein in case it was needed.

And hopefully... it wouldn't be.

Carnelian had exceeded his quota for energy draining and decided to take it easy tonight, using one of the small orbs he'd collected to restore some of what was lost in the cheeky teleportation he'd engaged in earlier. Now it was time to simply... relax. The corrupted senshi propped himself up against one of the heating units to do some nighttime stretching, gazing out across the city from his rooftop perch. Downtown was still bustling, despite all the craziness from the unusual weather and the holidays. Hopefully things would be calmer now.

Lovely.

Carnelian's elegant brow lifted and he set the plate aside with a sigh, standing to brush off his jacket and take a look at the interloper.

He was... interesting, to say the least. Puffy pants and an odd accent, though Carnelian wasn't about to judge based on that. The English was understandable, which was more than could be said for many native speakers. Crossing his arms, the corrupted senshi wasn't all that interested in a scuffle if it could be helped, but this blonde boy? Cute smile, but maybe he didn't know what he was doing. He might look pretty good in black...

"Well, I assumed," he started, hand over his chest for emphasis. "that you might leave me in peace to have a little dinner. Color me mistaken. Now, if you don't mind, I'm not interested in whatever you have to say. You can move on, please." The corrupted senshi made shoo shoo gestures, hoping Altais would get the hint and buzz off.

The curse words in French came flying as Carnelian lost his footing, falling over in a heap of inelegant limbs and coat flying about. With an audible oof!, the redhead’s spitting responses sounded warbled and less threatening than he intended, all thanks to this godforsaking jiggling. (If Altais was a woman, or a man interested in other men, then maybe Carnelian could have turned this around - who didn’t love a set of bouncing pectorals? As it was, the corrupt didn’t have that kind of luck.)

The corrupted senshi tried scooting further away from Altais using his hands and knees, but the vibrations were ridiculous. Could the roof collapse? How much property damage was this a*****e responsible for!?

Lying flat on his back, the entire world jiggling all around him, Carnelian called a counterattack. ”Agony!” Two half-circle bands of energy would appear around Altais’ form, and, with a short two-second delay, collapse in on him. May he know true pain for making a fool of someone so lovely!!

Bracing himself between two air conditioning units, legs still wobbling like crazy, Carnelian attempted to glare at Altais. "Everything was fine until you showed up and--"

The roof bowed and swayed in a horrifying manner, cutting the corrupted senshi's sentence short. Would the roof give way completely?! The groan it issued gave both senshi a brief warning - Altais' attack might bring the whole thing down at any moment. Even now, diners were screaming and exiting the building in a panic down below.

"See? Look what you've done--!"

It was then the rooftop had sustained enough structural damage that it began to peel away, dipping downward and tearing like heavy paper into the kitchen beneath their feet. With a yelp, Carnelian teleported in a panic to the nearest neighboring building. Let Altais be crushed by the falling roof. He deserved it! This was precisely why the White Moon had such a bad reputation in Destiny City - wanton destruction of property, and for what purpose? At least the Negaverse was working towards something of substance.

”Excuse you!”

Carnelian could not understand what this boy’s problem was. The corrupt senshi wasn’t even doing anything remotely bad, save for stealing the food, but really, what’s food compared to something like a soul? He could have pulled a starseed, but didn’t! Self-control! And now this blonde lunatic was bringing down buildings in an attempt to beat the redhead into a bloody pulp.

Murder and destruction of property. Will White Moon wonders never cease?

“Oh, so you don’t take responsibility for your crimes in addition to committing them. Very nice, senshi. Very nice. I’ll let them know who to send the bill to once the city assesses what you’ve done!” Well, it sounded like a decent comeback, until the blonde launched himself like the loon he was straight at Carnelian. A fist flying in his direction made the corrupt panic - he had no real combat training save for his magic and relied more on charisma than fists. Without Altais listening to the charisma, what was he to do?

RETREAT!

Once the shockwave senshi was occupying the same building after utterly demolishing the roof of the previous, Carnelian decided now would be a great time to get the ******** away from this lunatic ASAP and turned to run as fast and as far as his legs would allow.
