Seren had been leaning against a fence, waiting for a training dummy that did not look ready to crumble to dust to come free. She did not recognize anyone here today, and was not in the mood to do the reaching out... She had to do that enough, and right now, she felt maybe it was a good time for others to do some reaching out to her.

Not that she was resentful, she just didn't feel the urge at the moment. When someone said 'hello' right near her, she turned, a little startled, her blue eyes wide for a moment, and then she relaxed, smiling at the smaller woman. She reached up to brush a lock of her starry hair off of her face, and then held her hand out. "Hi! I'm Seren. Thank you! It's a lot of work, but totally worth it."

She considered the other woman's request, and then pulled herself off the fence, grinning. "Oh yeah, I'll totally spar with you. I like to work out against as many different people as I can, to get a feel for different fighting styles, and fellow humans are way better practice then the dummies. Dummies can't dodge or hit back, after all." She began to move to the open space for sparing, figuring the other would follow her.

Seren blinked at the slight stutter, and the nervous seeming reactions, but stretched out, then summoned her very, very large, two pronged sword to her hand. She heard a whisper of pleasure in her mind from Diwata, who was always glad for her Hunter to get some practice in... They were Sun. They needed to be able to fight, so they could survive if they were sent to some sort of front line duties.

"Hey, we all got our things we need to do. People working in the infirmary are important." She took off her coat, and tossed it out of the way, because she preferred to spar with it off. She had a work-out type t-shirt on under it, so her forearms were exposed, and Noemi might see a scar on it. "I know they've helped me already, after a nasty meeting in the House."

"I will be careful... Mind telling me your name, so I know who I'm fighting?" She smiled, warmly, at the other lady.

"Oh, I would agree. We have all of these divisions for a reason, after all."

She sighed and closed her eyes, for just a moment, then opened them, nodding. "I've only been there twice. Once, it wasn't a bad experience. The other time..." Her eyes were shadowed with the thought of her own mortality. "I thought I was going to die, alone save for my attacker, in there... I was rescued, or I would have..."

Seren was distracted by the memory, and winced, taking the hit, her own return swing wooshing wide. She swore a little under her breath, still trying to work out the balance on her weapon's bigger size, some. "A pleasure, Noemi. As I said, I'm Seren... And this is Diwata." She nodded at the sword. "I'm an Intermediate Sun, though I only recently promoted, in November."

"I was sent in on patrol, alone. Stupidest thing, I was still just a Trainee." She sighed in frustration. "It was not a good time, and the being I met was terrifying, and had control over water. I thought I was gonna drown, or be slammed to the walls to death, with the way she used it..."

Seren winced at the next hit, but beamed at the congratulations. "Thank you! I just kind of am overwhelmed by my sword now... She was big before, but... now? Now she's IMMENSE." She swung again, and barely clipped the other woman, earning a soft swear out of Seren. "But I am GOING to master this!"

Seren nodded a little and shrugged, with a sigh. "I don't know. I do know that I think it's ridiculous. We're already a limited population, throwing us into something like that without caution and back-up sounds like throwing away potential important resources, if they're that cold." She made a face, not liking thinking this way.

Noemi's next hit had Seren wincing again. Damn, she was not doing well in this battle. This was, honestly, important to know, because it meant she needed more practice against this woman's style of battle. "I can, but..." She swung, and once again clipped Noemi. "I clearly need more practice, damn!"

Seren hmmm'd thoughtfully and stepped back for a moment, taking some slow, deep breaths. She worked on shifting her stance, seeing how the other woman moved, trying to get a guess on ways to make herself more effective in this battle.

When the woman's next hit came, she too it with an oof... Unless she had a miracle, Seren was sure she was going to lose this spar, but... She also wondered if she had begin to get an idea on what to do next.

She shifted again and pulled Diwata back, and then slams the blade in a sideswing at Noemi's side, hoping to get a good hit in this time.

Seren yelped a bit, because that hit was HARD, and skidded back from the force. She stood there, taking several deep breaths, before she moved into a new position. Diwata had built up a full charge, and while she could use the harder hitting blow, she decided to try to use the healing one.

She stood still, focused, and then the runes flashed bright and white... And went out, making Seren swear in frustration.
