OBSERVANT Unlike his sister, Quinn does not suffer from "rose-colored glasses syndrome." He sees the world as it really is and tends to notice the feelings of others around him more, especially when someone is trying to hide or hold back their feelings. INTELLIGENT Despite his parents (many) faults, they were not dumb. In fact they were professors at Hogwarts once upon a time. Quinn did inherit his parents' intelligence and wits. Quinn has always been the top of his class (though he was homeschooled so he argues he only had one person to compete with). Adults tend to remark on his brilliance though after he warms up enough to talk with them. ANXIOUS/SHY Quinn is unlike his sister and is not able to easily befriend strangers. In fact new people often make him nervous which still (to his dismay) causes him to turn slightly orange when nervous. WRY SENSE OF HUMOR Even at a young age Quinn has developed a rather wry sense of humor, especially compared to children of his own age. He is sure that it has to do with coping with his parents' craziness. QUIET Quinn never particularly liked loud games or even raised voices finding both to cause him to be a bit nervous. He does not seek to be the center of attention and is happier being an observer of the world around him.

EARLY CHILDHOOD Quinn is the older twin born to Bréanainn Conri and Christina Dechering. His parents met when they met and he was born in Hogsmeade. Soon after his and his sister's, Mary's, birth he was sent to live in the States with his maternal grandmother. Eventually, his mother, Christina Dechering, quit working at the school and returned to Georgia to raise her children after a somewhat rocky split from Bréanainn Conri. However Christina staying to raise her children was short lived and she soon moved to Boston to work and continue to have her mother raise her children.
Quinn along with his sister grew up in a small town in Northern Georgia. Quinn and Mary were home schooled mostly due to Quinn's ability as a metamorphagus; however, he did attend church with his grandmother and sister. Unlike Mary, Quinn is not as enamored by their often missing father (or mother for that matter). Quinn is nervous to travel so far away to go to school, but is happy to know his sister will be with him.
SCHOOL YEARS ■ FIRST YEAR Quinn had a relatively quiet year. He started out sorted in Ravenclaw like he expected and hoped. There he made a friend with another Quinn (Quentin) who seemed happy with his sorting. Deciding to focus on adjusting to Hogwarts, Quinn did not join any clubs but he is considering joining the newspaper. ■ SECOND YEAR In Quinn's second year he joined the Newspaper and met Ferdinand Delacroix closely and realized something about himself but he is still in denial and assumes he'll just stay lonely the rest of his life. ■ THIRD YEAR Quinn continued in the Newspaper Club and nothing of excitement but starting his electives happened. ■ FOURTH YEAR Quinn supported his sister like he always did. He was excited for her that quidditch was working out for her and attended the school play. He continued with the newspaper club and is wondering if all he was taught in Sunday school was as accurate as it pretends to be especially about certain inclinations. ■ FIFTH YEAR Quinn's fifth year consisted of being locked in the library or his dorm room (thank God he was a Ravenclaw and studying in the common room was respected). He got his OWL scores back which was mostly to his satisfaction. Though having to go to the hospital wing after his Care of Magical Creatures exam was a bit embarrassing. He did not feel there was an opportune time to spill the beans on a burning secret he had: his sexuality. There is always next year, right? ■ SIXTH and SEVENTH YEAR While Quinn secretly struggled with his sexuality and had accepted the only way to respect his American Southern Baptist upbringing and Christian identity was to live a chaste life and never reveal his secret. He knew his father would hate him most likely for his identity and his mother would at best be unhappy with it regardless of her "loose" moral understanding of their religion. Yet, realizing that not saying anything was just as much of a sin as living openly he came out to his sister and then the rest of the family (besides just a letter from his sister to their father). He considered becoming an unspeakable after graduation but Mary talked him out of it arguing he had far too much to live for in the outside world and that she needed his support at the very least and would support him regardless. And love was never a sin as long as all parties agreed with it.
AFTER HOGWARTS After graduation, having been talked out of becoming an unspeakable, and refusing to return to the States to face his biased church upbringing, he settled into the position with the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad and much to his surprise is finding the work rewarding and his years closeted helping his understanding of the need to hide before revealing your true self (in this case usually being a witch or wizard) when the time is truly right.
Currently Quinn and his twin Mary share a flat in London together as they both work for the ministry and did not want to impose on their Aunt Sophie in Hogsmeade.

EARLY CHILDHOOD Mary is the younger twin born to Bréanainn Conri and Christina Dechering. Her parents were professors at Hogwarts when they met and she was born in Hogsmeade. However, soon after her and her brother, Quinn's birth, she was shipped to the States to live with her maternal grandmother. Eventually her mother, Christina Dechering, quit working at the school and returned to Georgia to raise her children after a somewhat rocky split from Bréanainn Conri for a short time before Christina decided to move to Boston to work and continue to have her mother raise her children.
Growing up in a small town in Georgia, Mary was raised attending the local church and being home schooled mostly due to her brother's ability as a Metamorphagus. Mary easily made friends with the local children and is slightly nervous about moving away to the United Kingdom to attend Hogwarts. Part of her is hoping to someday get to see her father regularly who was a famous quidditch player as her mother has generally kept visitations to a minimum between Bréanainn Conri and her children.
SCHOOL YEARS ■ FIRST YEAR Mary started the year with big dreams of being sorted into the same house as her father, however, the hat felt she was better sorted to Hufflepuff. As the year progressed Mary saw how the friendly house did suit her well. From her beginning feast with the friendly Elijah to classes where she met and chatted with a girl Katya who she considers to be a friend though they are not as close as Mary might like. Mary also tried out for the Hufflepuff team and was chosen as a reserve chaser much to Mary's delight. ■ SECOND YEAR Mary continued on the quidditch team as a reserve chaser and joined the Drama club. She starts her campaign for Wizard of Oz. ■ THIRD YEAR Mary continued in the Drama Club and was selected as a first line chaser for the team. ■ FOURTH YEAR During Mary's fourth year something absolutely magical happened that year. She was selected as Quidditch Vice Captain for her house. And during Drama Club she made a friend with Ophelia Selwyn who seemed very nice. ■ FIFTH YEAR Busy. That is the word that would summarize Mary's fifth year. Between Drama club, being a Prefect (yay! maybe head girl is possible?), Quidditch as Vice Captain, and classes with studying for her OWLs she was surprised the year went as smoothly as it did. She did suspect that Quinn was avoiding her some as when she offered to study with him often he would say "he studied better alone." The only exception was when they visited their Aunt Sophie to go over arithmancy. ■ SIXTH AND SEVENTH YEAR Almost immediately after NEWTs were done and likely before the ink dried on the parchment, her twin brother revealed that he (like her) liked the male sex and more than platonically. She was a bit surprised but not if that made sense. He even insisted if he had the NEWTs on going into the unspeakables but Mary begged him not to. They were twins and she needed him. And despite what any of the rest of the family said (including a less than impressed father), Mary would back him and she knew he would back her. She also was quidditch captain for Hufflepuff and continued in drama club.
AFTER HOGWARTS Mary was on track to likely be able to snag a professional quidditch spot as team captain, even if the Puffs were not particularly notable under her lead. She even considered the more intellectual path by joining the Foreign Affairs and Sports Department. She loved people and she obviously loved quidditch. Or so she thought. When she penned the letter to her father for Quinn, hoping that it would mend any past wounds and she could have her family and her brother's open happiness, her heart was crushed. Neither wanted to deal with the other, her father seeming to think Quinn's sexuality made him a failure, and Quinn thinking his father had always been a pointless bigot and neglectful father. And Mary realized that though she was the favored one and did so much to make her father proud, but she realized looking in the mirror it was exhausting to try to make someone love her completely and it was her turn to chose her own happiness.
After a brief consideration of work as a private apothecary, she decided she liked a constant paycheck better and she could always use her skills in apothecary work and divination to better herself in the service of the people. It so happened that the International Magical Trading Standards Body was the first job advert for the Ministry of Magic she spotted and decided her gift at math and predicting would fit fine for trading, and besides working with a probably diverse group of people sounded fun!
Currently Mary and Quinn share a flat in London together as they both work for the ministry and did not want to impose on their Aunt Sophie in Hogsmeade.
