Two amazing foals and the menagerie were a hoof full even with her boundless patience and grace. Learning she was with foal changed nothing except prompting more attempts to help her with everything she did during the day. Even now, walked the familiar path to his friend's home treats in hand. One tribute to Angel the bunny to earn the gracious fauness some breathing room and food for herself.

There was a plan for today, let her rest and take the foals out to see the sun, play in the flowers and experience the wonder that was the surrounding woods. If they found something lovely to take back to their mom, all the better! One day he hoped to have flying partners in the two amazing little foals, for now helping out was easier when they couldn't fly away from a nap!

Arriving at the door to his best friend's sanctuary, he knocked three times and called as softely as he could, sounded ridiculously deep to his ears, "Fluttershy?" Standing still then, ears pinned forward listening for sounds she was in there at all. One learned to listen very well around the yellow Pegasus.

It usually seemed lively, and perhaps to some chaotic, inside Fluttershy's little hollow inside the tree but since the arrival of the twins...
well things seemed a lot more livelier. The yellow pegasus was great at being a mother like figure to animals and babysitting the cutie mark crusaders when they were little but..... being the real deal? It was taking some getting used too. She wasn't able to just 'give them back' at the end of the day, not that she ever would, oh no. Something about her darling newborns made her even more of a silent force to be reckoned with when their safety were in question. Thankfully she hadn't yet need to bring that side out and into the open.

Mostly thanks to a very dear friend who she was sure, at this point, she couldn't function without.

"Oh! He must be here already." she cooed to the sweet yellow boys she balanced in her arms as she side stepped a couple scurrying mice, one noisy brown monkey and as always, a very impatient Angel bunny. "C-coming!" she called out, which for her wasn't exactly that loud as she pushed her way across the room and fought to pull open a door while juggling two tots and now a bunny. "Yes Angel.... I'm sure he brought something for you too..." she half laughed before she finally managed to open the door and smile up shyly at the green alicorn. "Everfree..."

Dovesong had been furiously running around the hollow, shouting random nonsense between the few words he had mastered and the others he was still getting the hang of. The chaotic business of animals romping around and over and with him had become a normality his tiny little brain pegged as 'usual' and 'common', thus he himself seemed very high energy and often quite loud himself. Today was no exception.

As his dual colored eyes peered around the door at an also familiar green and brown sight, his tiny little fingers reached out, opening and closing. He mumbled some words that were indistinguishable, one sounding like his best attempt at the name 'Everfree', though not quite as correct or articulated as the combination of v sounds and r sounds still alluded him. "Ewewfwee!" The golden boy had come to associate the alicorn with more than just fun and attention, but also things. Shiny things. Fun things. And so a tiny little bob of a pink tail wiggled in excitement, eyes wide and sparkling.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Soaring Hope was quite the opposite of his rambunctious twin. Where Dovesong enjoyed running around, Hope was happy with sitting still. Today was tea with a group of mice, and he was quite the host if he did say so himself. Not a word had to be said from the young one, just soft humming of songs he'd heard from his mom and silent glances at his guests. Its all they needed to enjoy his imaginary tea time.

Through it all though he kept an eye on his brother. He didn't like to be away from Dovesong. If the other disappeared from sight he'd break out in quiet tears. He was very much a mama's boy that way- quiet. You could hardly get a peep from him... depending on the situation of course. Some times his brother could get the occasional laugh out of him.

Like in this instance. He clung to Mom like his life depended on it. Who was at the door? Why were they going to it? He didn't want to be here! He squirmed like a mad man, softly whimpering until the door opened and his eyes landed on the alicorn. Instantly the fear washed from his face and was replaced with absolute delight. Oh, yes! This was ok. This wasn't scary.

He didn't reach out for the other like his oh so trusting brother did. Instead he lifted a little yellow hand and gave a slow wave before shyly burying his face in his mom's pink mane.

Wood brown tail swayed gently behind the alicorn as he stood still and patient as the trees he represented. Ears stayed pinned forward resisting even the urge to swivel towards the ambient sounds of the life behind him. Resettling his wings for the nth time, Everfree just managed to look settled and more 'regal' by the time she opened the door.

Smiling warmly at the yellow peguses, he greeted her gently, "Fluttershy! How is super mom doing today?" Could any fauny else handle all the animals and two unexpected but very much adored colts and make it look so effortlessly? hat his dear friend allowed him to help at all was generosity personified. He had the fun job, as it were, get to play with the boys and watch them grow.

Sparkling brown eyes met the mismatched eyes of the rambunctious twin, "Good job, Dovesong!" His ears swiveled with mirth enjoying the attempt of the little colt to say his name. First words were a big thing, that the little one was trying to say his name was an honor in of itself. Polar opposite but every bit his mother's minime, Soaring Hope received a little wave back and a gentle chuckle, "Good morning, Soaring Hope." Such blue eyes the little boy had, even without the eye difference from his brother, it easy to see the differences in the twins. Both complimented each other so well.

Raising his eyes back to meet their mother's eyes he asked, "How are you and my favorite little princes' doing?" The horn and wings had been a shock to say the least. Titles and royalty mattered not in the tree, relics for the past but beyond the physical resemblance of Alicorns of Equestria, it was a hope for their future. That they would embody their mother's quite grace with the heart and respect the station used to require. They would grow into such wonderful gentlecolts with a mother like theirs.

One learns very early who to befriend when they visit Fluttershy, next words out of his mouth probably came far to late for one impatient bunny, "I brought a treat for Angle, and though you might be hungry as well. There might be something in here for two little colts." They were probably too young to pick up on the playful vagueness of the statement. That was alright, the cleverness of it all sounded lame to his own ears as soon as the words came out.

Shifting the basket with the treats he offered, "I thought the boys might enjoy a little time outside, there is a lovely meadow with flowers." Birds and life, it surrounded the lucky colts every day in their home. A field trip somewhere new held and excitement too, as the theory goes.

Magic carpet rides are overrated, flying uncles are far more entertaining

A giggle and wide smile were Everfree's response to praise. He was eager to reach the green alicorn but his attempts were falling short. A brief frown flashed across Dovesong's face as his attempts to break loose of his mother's hold failed to work. He leaned forward and wriggled his fingers before flinging himself back into his mother's arms but still she didn't give. He looked up at her and pouted a serious pout face. He then glanced over at his brother who, as per usual, was content to remain in their mother's arms. The quietness of his twin made him pause in tiny thought.

Everfree's endless praises and compliments never failed to bring shock and a blush to Fluttershy's cheeks. Supermom? She was far from being a supermom, in fact she'd argue there was nothing super about her. She was simply doing what her instincts told her to do. Well that and a bit of experience from her animal handling but to compare the two was vastly different. "As well as ever." she admitted softly with a smile, bouncing the rambunctious boy in her arms a bit. "Goodness, someone seem's excited." she laughed softly before a thump at her hooves drew her attention elsewhere. "As does Angel." she grinned.

The bunny hopped over towards the green alicorn and scampered around his hooves with tiny bunny arms open wide. A loud squeal from one of the boys made Angel turn around in slight shock before he squeaked some 'words' at Fluttershy impatiently.

"Alright...but behave now." she cooed gently and set the one boy down before shifting Soaring Hope closer to her chest, now cradling him with both arms. "You are ever so kind, I don't know how I could ever thank you. I'm sure they are going to have a wonderful time, right little one?" she smiled, leaning in to softly rub her nose against Soaring's.

It had taken time for her to become comfortable with her boys being out of her grasp, out of her sight. But she trusted Everfree more than she could say and over time the brief moments of silence and peace became welcome.

However, as if to break any peace, Dovesong squealed loudly and chased Angel around Everfree's hooves, laughing in almost screaming tones. He paused to tangle his fingers into the male's long brown tail, draping it over his head and giggling at the fact that he was 'hidden'.

Or at least in his mind he was. He stifled his giggling by bringing his tiny hands to his face and peering between Everfree's legs up at his twin. "Soowa!" he called to his brother, a nickname made up from the curious mind of a curious child. "SooooooowAH!" he called again before darting back behind the brown tail and standing as still as he could, as if that made him disappear before everyone's eyes.

Except his constant stiffed giggles he really wasn't even that still...

Hope only lifted his gaze from his mother’s mane when the words ‘treat’ and the rustle of the alicorn’s basket hit the young one’s ears. Oh, oh yes! This was one of the ever reasons he enjoyed this other. What had he brought them today? He turned his big blue eyes to the other in hopefulness.

Even when his brother was set down he didn’t make any move to follow suit. Instead, he snuggled closer to his mother, taking in the warmth of her presence. He was a mama’s boy through and through and was quite content with staying cradled right there. Though his eyes never did leave his brother, curious as to what the other was up to.

He giggled softly at his mother, cheeks flushing happily at her attention. He was sloppy about it, but did his best to rub his back at her, a beaming smile lighting up his eyes. The moment was broken when he heard his brother’s voice calling to him. He looked over to where he thought he had heard it, but his brother wasn’t there. He started to become agitated, wiggling in his mother’s arms, until his sibling’s laughter reached his ears. He eased some, but still looked to be on the brink of tears.

“Dohsawn” his voice was barely a whisper. “I don see ew…” It almost became too much for the little one to bare. A small spark light up his horn, causing Everfree’s tail to fly up a second, revealing his brother, before promptly falling back around him. At the quick flash of yellow fur, Hope was appeased. His brother was there after all. He too began to wiggle, wanting down to be with his brother and a part of the fun.

There was too much to focus on any one thing. Between the beaming mother, two adorable colts and one very assertive bunny, the scene was a whirl of warm chaos. If he were to draw a picture of what 'home' is, this would be it, they were that picture perfectly framed. The honor he felt for being allowed to take any small part of this could never be overstated.

Between using his wings to help protect the tree and his heart to protect the faun within, this was the centering that kept everything in focus.

Speaking of focus the assertive bunny was telling him very clearly he wanted what was in the basket. Fluttershy seemed to understand the bunny far better than he did, but there were somethings that telegraphed beyond words.

Chuckling he reached down to open the basket intent on retrieving Angel's treat as well as the gifts for the family. Only then the basket seemed to be more a refuge as one rambunctious colt took to running around.

Laughing now, he kept himself perfectly still content to let the colt run and play. The feeling of the tail tug was certainly different but not a bother. Instead he gave Fluttershy his most sheepish look, "It appears I lost one already." Oopse, he'd have to do better keeping up with the other one.

Just to catch the little colt's attention he added, "Shame Dovesong will miss the adventure." Only the game that brought his brown eyes to sparkle with mirth faded in an instant with a very unexpected move.

With Dovesong exposed, the first move was to remark, "Ah ha! There you are!" Followed by near gushing over Soaring Hope. "That was amazing, Soaring!" Clapping once, the stallion was reduced to looking on with wonder at the colt's show of magic. Sure they had horns but to see the magic in practice was the proudest he'd ever been at the show magic. First steps, first magic, first flight all amazing moments.

Angel better be careful before he goes flying! While semiamusing it was also a bit worrying. The little Princeses would learn, they had an amazing mother to teach them.

Fluttershy could only laugh softly at the scene before her. A hand came up to hide her small smile as she stared fondly at her two little boys. Her two special little birds she never once thought would happen to her in a million years. "Oh no Everfree. We turn our eyes for one second and one's lost!" she squeaked softly, feigning 'fear' though a fear that would only be convincing to little some little ones.

When the other twin summoned a burst of magic to 'reveal' the hidden twin, Fluttershy gasped in amazement and pride. Not being a unicorn, magic wasn't something she was able to do nor able to teach them how to use so the small feat made soft tears well up in her eyes. "Soaring, my little hero, you found your brother!" she cooed gently to him as she set him down and ruffled his hair before letting him join his brother.

Dovesong could only laugh and laugh and laugh and it increased more so when his twin was set down. Peeping out from the brown tail Dove reached over and grabbed Soaring's hand, yanking him over. "Shh hide. Sowa." he grinned, placing a finger over his lips and grinning.
He scrunched up his eyes in rather hard concentration, as if it took all his effort to do what he aimed to do, before a little spark shot to the tip of his horn and caused the male's tail to fly up into the air again before falling back down over the pair of yellow babes.

Laughing hysterically, Dovesong then shot from beneath the tail, between Everfree's legs, scooped up a now rather grumpy Angel bunny and proceeded to hop around the room making all sorts of a ruckus. A couple birds darted out the window chattering, one now excited monkey joined in and an extremely grumpy and food denied Angel bunny now shrieked in a way only bunnies could.

Fluttershy sighed and shook her head but still wore a smile. "Dovesong, honey come here. Set Angel down..." she called sweetly but with a faint hint of sternness as she managed to coral the rampant toddler, free the bunny from his grasp and secure Dovesong's hand to lead him back over to Everfree. "I apologize....he might...be quite the handful. Soaring will be less trouble, I promise." she grinned bashfully, almost apologetically at her friend. Though a large amount of gratitude and unspoken appreciation was clearly written over her usual shy features.
