Actually, she had come to this bakery for an entirely different reason- to pick up the usual gingerbread and peppermint sweets for a certain Mauvian back home- but news of the free samples had caught her attention, or, rather, the small crowd that had gathered for it. Personally, Lepus was a bit of a skeptic, herself, despite what seemed to be mostly positive feedback coming from the customers in attendance. On the other hand, though, if this fruitcake was supposedly so good, then why not pick up a sample to take home to said sweets-loving Mauvian? After all, it was free.

Faust had been in the mood for lunch for some time now.
The Mauvian kicked off the day by having Quenton's hand-made paté, then sleeping for three hours, then he ran a twenty-minute patrol before he found a great mound of snow to roll in. Then he slept again. Then he licked someone's unattended sandwich a few times until they shooed him off, and all he could take with him was a piece of tomato (and who the hell eats that s**t, anyway). Then he wandered along the sidewalks for another ten looking for new senshi to awaken.
Now it was lunch time, and the Mauvian was starved. Famished. Dying.
Yes, dying.
He was going to die immediately if he did not get food in his furry stomach that instant.
Sensing his own urgency, Faust sprang into action — he found some store with good smells, and a bunch of people leaving it, and some girl in that mess of people who was holding a cup of food. And he didn't know what the hell kind of food they were selling there, but he knew for sure that she was holding food. Faust wriggled his butt into position, then launched from his perch on a snow-covered bench, and expertly seized the sample cup straight out of her hands.
In reality, his overlarge chest collided awkwardly with her hand and his jaws snapped fruitlessly at the air.
But he'd eat the fruitcake piece off the snow-laden ground anyway. Five minute rule and all.

One minute, Lepus was holding a sample cup of the fruitcake, planning on taking it home to Etoile to see what the Mauvian thought. The next, some furry black blur had appeared out of nowhere, knocking the cup out of her hands, and onto the ground. It took the teen a few moments to process what had just happened, highly confused as she was. Once Lepus had finally had time to regain her composure, she realized that the furry black blur was, surprisingly, a cat. Once she realized that, she was more impressed than anything else- that had to have taken some planning to pull off a stunt like that. Of course, that meant she'd have to get another sample... or just buy a whole fruitcake to take home. As it was, she hadn't quite yet realized that the cat in front of her was a Mauvian, and so rather than speak to him directly, she couldn't help but kinda stare for a moment or two, before wondering something. "Where did you come from...?"

"Mrr," came his matter-of-fact response. If this kid spoke cat, then she damn well better know that mrr meant just outside the alleyway facing eighth street from that bench over there. But, if she was like every other denizen of Destiny City, then mrr just gave her an excuse to fawn over a stationary cat.
Which he would allow, naturally, being too preoccupied with his most recent kill trophy.
Faust looked up to her, searching for her eyes, as if to say I'm in charge of this part of Destiny City, and this weird lumpy sweet thing is my protection fee. The star on his head glinted boldly for a moment before he turned around in the snow and squatted before his latest meal. He took a taste, two tastes, sneezed on it, licked it halfway across the snow, then decided he was quite finished and tried to bury it.
To hell with this s**t. Tastes weird. Weird like that one time that I ate those mushrooms out of Quenton's fridge… He looked over his shoulder to the girl then, and his eyes bloomed from narrow to dinner-plate wide.

It was only for a brief moment, but that moment was all it took for Lepus to notice the star, and realize she had been talking to a Mauvian all along. Immediately, she felt a little embarrassed for addressing Faust in the same manner as she would an ordinary stray cat, even if he hadn't said anything to her, but the girl wasn't sure exactly as to how to redeem herself. Well, there was the fruitcake that he had already claimed for himself, but it didn't seem he was too interested in it anymore, given the way he was currently trying to bury it. The crowd at the bakery had died down, and Lepus figured it should be safe enough to directly address the Bobtail in front of her, and have no one overhear. "Uh, hey," Lepus began awkwardly, "You know, if you had said something, I could have bought something for you. I do that all the time for another cat back home, y'know?" Lepus wasn't even sure if Faust was paying any attention to her or not, but then the cat turned to look at her, and he thought that, perhaps, this was a sign! She hadn't accidentally managed to offend a Mauvian! And then she realized that he seemed to be looking at her a little... weirdly. And suddenly, Lepus had no idea what to do. "Um."

"Well sheeit," Faust murmured back, "I wasn't even payin' attention to that aura s**t. I smelled food and I went for it. How 'bout that." As he looked at her, she stood the hell out from the crowd that exited earlier. How in blazes did she pull that off? She looked like she fell right the ******** outta Alice in Wonderland. Tophat and all. Shame on Faust for getting too hungry to notice.
"Imma hold you to that offer. Lemme tell you, I really like fish…" As he rose from his haunches, dusted with snow and all, he executed a few careful rubs against Lepus' legs. "An' I don't jus' mean any fish. I like salmon, and cod, and sole, and that other fish with the Hawaiian sounding name…" As Faust listed off his favorites, it became clear that any fish would do. In fact, he would (and probably has) eaten fish out of a trash can with no concerns for its origins. And probably threw up later with no idea why his digestive system was betraying him.
"So!" Faust leapt for the girl's shoulders. "Whaddaya say we find some real food and not that weird s**t they gave you at the bakery?"
Which, he started to realize, might not have been the best choice of eats. The aftertaste was getting stronger, and much of the ambient noises hurt hi kitty ears. Even Lepus sounded obnoxiously loud with her short 'um', but he tried to act through it. "Then we kick some a** after."

"I can buy you fish," Lepus said in agreement, and stood as still as possible, to allow the Mauvian to jump up onto her shoulders. Faust was a bigger cat than a small kitten like Etoile, but it wasn't like he was super big- she'd manage just fine. (Somewhere in the back of her mind, Lepus realized that this would potentially cost her a small fortune, but if she was willing to spend so much money on one cat, surely she could extend that same courtesy to another? Also, the idea of 'kicking some a**' was very appealing. ) "Do you have anywhere specific in mind?" Lepus asked, as she started walking, "If you don't, that's fine, too- I'm sure we can find someplace with the best fish you've ever had.That might have been an exaggeration, but Lepus was pretty determined to get close, at the very least.

"Damn right I do. The hell kinda fool cat you take me for? I know exactly where all the good fish places are in this damn city. Someone's gotta protect a good business from them Negaverse assholes." Huffing, Faust settled into a crouch on Lepus' delicate shoulder. The chibi senshi might've been slighter in stature than someone like Thraen, but she damn well better be durable enough to hold a twenty-pound cat.
Which she probably was — even the young humans grew to be like… Five times his weight.
Infuriating, really. But usually they got the idea he was intimidating without him having to pop his human form.
And he didn't have a reason to intimidate her anyway, since she was down to by him some fish. Weird that the snow looked so bright, though, and Lepus sounded pretty damn loud, like she was shouting into his ear… Hella weird. Like he never experienced that s**t before. Sure, humans were loud, and they liked flashy s**t, but never so much that it jammed up his groove.
"Best fish in DC is down inthe central part. You know, next to that big building with the circle thing and the lines sticking through it? Sometimes the lines change depending on the time of day." Faust tried to sound smart about the clocktower he mentioned, and puffed up a little in pride for how well he did. "By all them really tall buildings. The ones even senshi can't climb."merurulince wrap with leaving the location?

Etoile was a much tinier kitten than such a huge... hulk of a cat like Faust was, but Lepus was pretty certain she could manage. She was a senshi, after all- senshi were supposed to be strong! And... able to carry twenty-pound cats? Lepus' school books combined probably weighted more than he did, really. In any case, emboldened by a newfound determination to get Faust the best fish Destiny City could offer, the teen took a moment to make certain that the big cat wasn't going to fall off her shoulders, before setting out for the place mentioned. She didn't have a GPS on her, but from the Mauvian's description, it didn't seem like it'd be too hard to find- in fact, Lepus was sure she probably had passed by it at some point or another during one of her many bus trips into the city. "Alright, let's get you some fish!" Lepus declared, and with that, she was off. Strickenized sure, we can consider this as a fin! sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the rp!
