Amigar had been feeling the Christmas spirit all week. She had bought tons of ribbons, twine, holly, and a huge Christmas tree. Not to mention plently more decorations. Since this was the first year her whole family would be getting together. Not just her parents but her grandparents and even extended family were going to join them. It would be the first Christmas in her life that her whole family would be here. They hadn't been together since she was an infant, and her parents normally weren't back until Christmas eve's. Accept this year everyone would be here a few days early. She was brimming with excitement and she planned on making sure the house looked and smelled of Christmas.
That was when she got the idea...fruit cake! It was in a lot of stories she had read and it was something that could help with growing the Christmas spirit. Now to be fair she had never tried it, but she had heard while serving at her parents bakery. That there was a new store that had just opened up. A quickly opened Christmas goodie shop and they definitely had fruit cake. People were saying there recipe was so perfect that they were letting you try some.
Without a second thought she grabbed her coat, slipped on some shoes, and raced out the door towards the new Christmas shop. Who knew what wonders might be there she thought and she raced towards her new destination and what was fruit cake like? Did it taste good? Does it have icing? Is it really made of fruit? all question she couldn't wait to answer and compare to the treats she was used to around the holidays.
