Normally he spent his patrol nights out with Terry or out on his own, despite how dangerous it might be, tonight though was a treat. He was spending the night out patrolling with his hyung. So far they’d run into nothing though, something he was both glad and disappointed about. It wasn’t that he wanted something bad to happen to anyone, he didn’t, but he wanted to get his elder cousin some experience in these things. Hyeon had been a knight for a while now but didn’t have a lot of experience, something he wanted to work on.

This fall, with all the happenings, seemed like a good time to try and get some experience in. This fall, more than last fall, seemed to be full of all kinds of things happening. Ranging from harmless, skin turning orange, to things being spotted in the city park that had flooded from the rain. In fact, he was considering heading towards the city park to investigate that, since nothing was going on right now.

If they headed that way though he would call Terry, just incase something did happen, he didn’t trust the park and whatever was going on there. The park sounded like the most dangerous of things so far...though there was potential for the spider webs all over the city to become more dangerous, something had to have made those webs after all.

In his relatively short time as a Knight, relative to some since by this point he had already been powered up for almost a year anyway, Hyeon had easily figured out that patrol was best done with someone with you. The fact that this patrol in particular happened to be with one of his favorite younger cousins was just the icing on the cake to use the term he had recently learned. So far it had been a quiet night, nothing more unusual then the spider webs that were so prevalent this month. He was letting Seung figure out which directions they would head in and where they would end up going, his cousin having much more experience than himself in this and he was just enjoying the time out with Seung for now. “Do you want to keep heading this way or change directions soon?” He asked after a bit of companionable silence, falling back into their native language only out of habit more than anything else.

“We can continue….or do you want to look into the park stories?” He questioned giving his cousin a questioning, and somewhat hesitant, look. It was potentially dangerous, he’d call Terry just incase, but it was an idea and it would liven up their night without a doubt. Glancing around he didn’t notice anything interesting, didn’t sense anything.

It was when he was turning back to focus on his cousin that he saw something...something moving out of the corner of his eye and he turned quickly towards it. He didn’t sense anything but something was moving. Then he saw it, coming out of the shadows quickly, a women in some sort of long gown or slip maybe?

“Hyeon-hyung?” Tugging on his cousins shirt, blindly reaching for him, he pointed. “Do you see that?”

””
Did he want to check out the rumors of the park? Hyeon hesitated for a moment as he thought that over. While it would lead to experience for him, the fact that it could be anything causing the trouble and only one of them really had practice actually fighting… “Not particularly, not with just the two of us anyway.” He said, not knowing that his cousin would have called up his cousin-in-law to help. However he didn’t have a lot of time to dwell on that possible situation since Seung was suddenly tugging at him, pointing behind him, and asking if he saw something.

Hyeon blinked in surprise then turned his head and upper body to look at what Seung was pointing only to get a bigger surprise. “Yes, yes I do.” He said and turned the rest of the around so he could look the woman over properly. “...Does it look like she’s either saying something or screaming to you?” Hyeon asked, worry for the woman making him take a step closer to where she was with a furrowed brow. The glint of tears was something he saw before she took off like the hounds of hell were after her.

“Screaming maybe...her mouth isn’t moving enough to form words…” At least he didn’t think so, it didn’t seem like it to him. Turning more fully to face the women as well. “Why is she running...away from us?” He questioned, wondering just why she was running and where to.

He didn’t sense anything...so not a youma. But what else could it be? “Should we follow?” Did he really need to ask? He was considering calling Terry, just incase, if he couldn’t sense whatever had terrified her maybe it was beyond either of them? But no...he didn’t pull out his phone and he didn’t call.

“Let’s go…” Nodding once he headed off towards the women and the direction she’d run in, tugging his cousin along quickly. “Something is wrong…” Obviously. The silent screaming, when did people scream so silently and make no noise at all, to the tears which were wrong as well.

””
He agreed that it looked more like screaming but he could admit to himself that he had been hoping that Seung would say it looked more like talking. “I don’t sense anything else but, she looked freaked out before she saw us.” Hyeon didn’t have time to really answer his cousin’s question as Seung had decided they would go almost a second after asking, though the Polaris Page would have said yes anyway. Instead he just found himself dashing after the Squire and keeping a sharp eye on the woman and the surroundings in case whatever she was running away from showed up. “I’m still not picking anything up, maybe it’s not an enemy she is running from but emotions?”

Quote:
“Maybe...or a person?” He questioned, glancing back towards his cousin. “I don’t sense anything either.” And if it was close enough she was running from it they should both be able to sense it. The problem was that they didn’t. If it was a person should they get involved? But he didn’t see anyone else either, or hear anything for that matter.

“I-I mean we shouldn’t but we can.” A domestic thing wasn’t their place, they might even escalate something given that knights were lumped in under the terrorist category, but they should help someone who needed it - right? Turning down the alley, to the back street that ran behind the buildings, he had to move out of the way of a dumpster and for a moment he saw her running still and he followed...as she ducked down another back alley street.

””
A person? He blinked for a moment as that idea sank in then he gave a nod. He had been so focused on the thought that it could be a youma or a chaos user that just a normal person hadn’t even crossed his mind. Something he really should be careful of in the future since it wasn’t just the Negaverse and Mirrors that caused trouble. “It could just as well be a stalker, not necessarily a domestic. Either way, while it might make things worse I don’t think either of us is the type to let someone get hurt.” If nothing else one of them could always power down out of sight and call the police if it came down to being a domestic.

He followed his cousin into the different alley ways, keeping any eye out for any trouble since Seung was keeping track of the woman. Still nothing, not even footsteps indicating that they were being followed by a normal unpowered person at this point.

Nodding to his cousins words, as they were true, Seung had no issue in continuing heading toward the back alley she’d ducked down but he saw no one behind them or between them and whoever she was. If no one was after her...then what? Was she just running from something? Seeing something? But there hadn’t been any sounds made by her and she had looked to be screaming - right?

He didn’t even hear her footsteps, which he was sure he should hear, and when he turned the corner down the back street she’d turned down...there was nothing. She wasn’t there and there was nothing but a dumpster and some trash cans...and a dead end. “Hyung?” He asked turning dark eyes onto his cousin. He didn’t like the feel of this, it had his skin pebbling with goosebumps. This was not normal.

””
He had continued to keep a lookout on their surroundings, letting his focus be mainly on what ever could be the threat, so it took his cousin coming to a stop before he turned his attention back onto the woman. Or rather the lack of the woman. A shiver went down his spine and he took a step closer to Seung with his hands flexing like he was about to grab his younger cousin and run the other way. “She’s just gone? No trace, no power up, no flash of anything, just gone.” After he said that he gave into the urge to get out of there and tugged Seung along with him as he power walked the opposite direction muttering about how he had not signed up to deal with ghosts.

Even though he was the stronger of the two, at least in terms of power, Venice didn’t fight his cousin taking hold of him and walking them backwards. “Reminds me a little of kuchisake-onna...without the mask but still a creepy female with a horrible mouth.” Though in the stories it was a slit mouth and this was a screaming mouth. It was still creepy in a similar manner. “Glad it isn’t that but still.” Shaking his head a bit he let himself be lead away.

It wasn’t until they were back several back streets that he was comfortable enough to power down and had for the sidewalks. “We should go home...I don’t think it’s good to stay out tonight…”
