Hobbies: Music - Maigo is a fan of chillwave, classical, meditative, some jazz, and music that has a chill feel in general. Though her music library really includes anything that catches her interest, those are the things that make up the bulk of it.
Gardening - Maigo has been interested in things green and growing since she was in kindergarten. Her uncle originally started because he wanted to cut some costs from their grocery bill, learning right alongside her in their little community plot. Now, she and her uncle take turns in that community garden plot, as well as grow herbs and flowers in pots and plantboxes outside Take Two and in the windows of their flat above the shop.
Antiques - Maigo is fascinated with the keepsakes and furniture of ages gone by. She tends to favor things from the 50s and earlier, and her room is all second-hand antique furniture...or made to resemble antique furniture. She's part of a few Facebook groups for it, and will browse the local shops once a month for new antiques.
Minecraft - Perhaps a bit out of what most consider the 'norm' for her, Maigo secretly adores the block game and the endless possibilities that come with it. She plays in a few servers, and enjoys playing survival or creative, modded or unmodded. [She even has little mooshroom and sheep keychains.]
Virtues: Sweetheart - Maigo is gentle, sweet-tempered, and kindhearted. She's the sort of girl who would stop to try and catch someone's hat before it blows away down the street, or offers to pay for the drink of the person behind her in the drive-thru.
Maternal - For all that Maigo isn't the
most social of people in person, she tends to end up being the MomFriend,
especially online. She often reminds people in her Minecraft server to take a break and stretch or get something to eat and drink, and even her uncle doesn't escape her mothering if she feels he's been overworking himself. Those younger than her are especially likely to be on the receiving end of her seemingly infinite patience and care.
Curious - Maigo is the sort of person who loves learning, and usually has her nose in a book or reading articles on the things that pique her curiosity online. A lot of her YouTube feed that isn't music or Minecraft is taken up by how-to channels, history and mythology specials, and theorycrafting about various games and shows.
Flaws: Secretive - Maigo...does not like the world knowing everything about her. She keeps her online life and offline life very separate generally, and her online friends know only that she works for her uncle, some of her likes and dislikes, and her screenname [StrangeAeons]. She also keeps her cards close to her chest in her offline life as well; she rarely talks about herself, and she learned at a young age that giving her mother's family
any crumb of information that wasn't as generic as possible would be twisted and used against her uncle in whatever way they could manage, and this has extended to how she handles other people as well.
Overprotective - While Maigo tends to be maternal...this can sometimes manifest as a distinct 'Mama Bear' attitude. If she considers someone to have slighted or hurt someone she calls friend or loved one, she can and will get very defensive of them, and won't hesitate to snap at or lash out at the perceived attacker in some way. Sometimes it's as simple as a backhanded comment here or there, other times it's outright looking to get them banned from a server or ostracized from their shared social circles. She is...trying to get better about this.
Awkward - In person, it's hard for Maigo to socialize. She's not always sure what to say, or focuses too much on what could go wrong, or just...simply doesn't know
how to socialize in that situation. Especially if she doesn't know anyone in the group. She didn't make many friends growing up, and it is
infinitely easier for her to express herself online than it is in person.
