It was 11:45. He'd arrived early, which was a feat in itself for him, but Alrik had decided to scout the arcade early in search of the best place to hang out looking broody and intimidating for when Waterfails the terribad Overwatch player showed up. It was gonna be simple. She'd show up, no doubt looking for someone to troll... only he was more than prepared because who would expect a handsome looker like himself to be the man on the other side of the screen? All the other nerds were neckbeards and mouthbreathers - he already had a one-up by being physically fit and appealing. Heck, she was probably some dumpy little nobody who was looking for a fight to pick in hopes of building up her poor excuse for self-esteem. ANYWAYS. Finding a nice little corner by the DDR pads and the old school Pac-Man games, Alrik pressed his weight against the wall, arms folding across his chest as he glanced at his watch. Only a matter of time, now....

Ciaran dressed pretty snazzy for the meeting with MastaRey. She was a concious girl gamer, and liked to dress sometimes for going out. Besides, when one went to do battle, one went in the best gear they could afford.
He had insulted her weight.
So she wore an outfit that accented her frame. Leather tight and warm since it was cold out. Converse died up tight and ready to go.
Yeah Ciaran was ready to FIGHT. She was a powerful gaming WOMAN. She was in her ELEMENT.
So how did she find MastaRey?

Waiting was not Alrik's forte. Patience was his sister's thing, evidenced by the amount of time she spent in setting out traps for senshi and schmoozing them through all the rings to get what she wanted out of them. He preferred the grab and run method - he grabs a seed, grabs some energy, then he runs. No patience required. SO, even only having twenty minutes or so to wait felt like an eternityyyy, leaving the boy to fish out the few dollars he just so happened to have in his pockets to begin playing various games around the arcade. With the schools out for winter holiday, there were a fair number of other people in the arcade playing, but Alrik thankfully had no trouble finding various games to hop in on. He was finally settled in on a particularly gruesome zombie shooting game when a hot little number waltzed into one of the arcade's side entrances. Maybe she was here for a kid brother or something - maybe she was here because her boyfriend worked here? Either way - Alrik Rey had no problem in taking a chance as he called out to the pretty girl. "Hey cutie - be my player two?"

Ciaran ALMOST ignored him. It wasn't the first time someone thought they were hot stuff and had something to say about getting her over. She almost rolled her eyes but settle for a nice smile and turned her head, in case the guy was a total creep.
Instead he was a bit cute and not too bad! And he was playing one of her favorite games. Although not a master first person shooter, she had learned well from overwatch.
"Sure!" She cheerfully said, coming over and only glancing at her phone as she did so. "Think I have a couple of minutes to play before I gotta find my-" She mulled over the word, "Archnemsis." She slipped some money out, adding it to the player 2 part of the machine and grabbed her gun.
"Hope you're a good shot." Why not kill time till MastaRey got here? that was, if he even showed up! Also why not show this cutie her skills or two. If he was gonna cat call, she was gonna either grind him into dust or he was gonna keep appreciating that skill.

Well dang - that had actually worked!Alrik was pretty astonished at the reaction; most of the time he got a wave off or a dismissive no, but this pretty chickadee had decided to cater to his request and made her way over to his game. As a result, he was more than happy to lean down and insert the four quarters into the machine to extend her time in advance as Pretty Stranger took hold of her weapon. Her comment caught his attention, however, and blonde hair bobbed up as he righted himself and offered her a curious look. "Archnemesis?" There wasn't additional time to pay her attention, not when the monsters started swarming the duo in-game. Turning back towards the screen, he raised his gun and positioned himself. "You talking like, IRL?"

She let her eyes fall back at him once, before returning to the screen and she started taking the shots needed.
"Yeah, some punk kid online." She sighed, "He was really awesome at overwatch, so I can't be to upset but he was also kind of a little s**t. We promised to meet here and duel it off! For like...rights or something. Doesn't matter, I just wanna kick his butt!" She kept shooting. "I haven't actually had a real arch-nemesis."
The first wave ended and she brought the gun back, smiling at him. "That was good shooting tex." She tilted her head, "You come here often and play these kind of games?" She could feel herself getting a little competitive. Her goal was to match or better his score!
"My name is Ciaran!" She offered, "What's yours friend?"

He felt his body go rigid when she made the mention of Overwatch. It... couldn't be possible, right? Yeah, sure, voices were a little distorted over computers and gaming systems so it made sense that she didn't sound like the whining little gaming v****a that he'd poked fun at but... but if she was here to meet up with some "punk" kind who'd bantered with her online... Aw, crap. Why'd she have to be cute????"Uh, Alrik," he said quickly, definitely leaving off his last name, as it aligned a little too nicely with his gaming handle. "Ciaran's cute." But not as cute as her shooting. Lifting the gun, he offered her the beginnings of a new grin as he popped another monster in the head. Hey... if she didn't realize it was him then things could be cool... right?????? "You're not so bad yourself. I don't have the time to come out here much these days but they've got a few classics around here. You?"

If Ciaran noticed his body shifting, she didn't say anything. She was actually looking around for her arch nemesis and since she didn't see anyone that matched the description of like...MastaRey...or what she imagined him to be.
"Alrik huh?" She beamed up at him, "Thats a really different name! I don't think I've actually heard it before." His smooth compliment to her name earned a soft elbow jab and a little bit of an embarassed face.
"Thanks! You're not to bad yourself either." She dropped her voice, "Though to be honest, I really just wanted to take this guy by surprise you know? Sometimes I feel like guys think girl gamers are just really ugly and stuff. Kind of sad you know?" She nodded. "If I meet MastaRey, I wanna blow his mind!" and then crush him under her heel.
As the game returned, she took the stance again, firing and thinking of the answer to his question. She bit her lip and then looked over at him. "Double thanks today, You're two for two here Alrik friend." She shook her head, "I love this place, but I'm better at MMO's then out in this kind of environment. I like the idea of the classics in all their glory but fighting or trying to sneak around here is hard." She sighed. "I like when they do Guitar hero night though? I'm a big fan of rocking out." She laughed a bit. "What about you, any favorite games you like to play?"

"It's German. I'm from ther--well, my family was. Is. Uh, yeah, it's Germanic." He felt himself getting flustered, mostly because his brain was still running at a mile a minute over the fact that this cutie was, in fact, the horrendous drama llama that he was supposed to meet and make fun of in person. Crap. What was he going to do?Having her say his handle out loud almost made him wince - yep. There was no mistake now... she was talking to her archnemesis without even realizing it. It would have been more funny, if he wasn't so concerned with her finding out. "O-Oh, you know, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, that kind of thing. I like games where the main character gets to be a badass - dorky, I know." Eyes glanced around at the other games around them, Alrik trying to appear disinterested as he then asked, "So, when are you and that guy supposed to meet up?"

"That's pretty neat though! Germanic. can you speak some german too or did it skip the generations after being in the grand ol' Murica?" She really couldn't speak any languages besides a few things in japanese. That was dedication of terms to games though.
"Those are pretty good games!" She smiled at him again and they finished the last round of shooting. The time with him had been well wasted, but she was pretty sure she had to find the MastaRey eventually. "I don't think its dorky, I like to be a badass too, even if I'm not in real life." She reached over and patted him on the back encouragingly.
"It was suppose to be before I started playing with you..." Her face kind of fell before she brightened again, "I guess I am not good enough for the PVP in real life? It'd be stupid to think he'd get scared. Sometimes times don't work out." She smiled at him again, "Hey do you play overwatch too? Wanna join me sometime? Your shooting is pretty spot on, I think you'd love the game?"

The fact she was asking about his cultural heritage had Alrik almost excited to respond, his gun misfiring and forcing him to reload before he could tackle the oncoming zombie. "I know some, not like - a lot." Some was better than none though, right? As her hand patted his back, he felt himself freeze up. Eyes darted back to the video game screen, forcing themselves to focus even if he was messing up royally at the game itself. One more blow and--- yep, dead. Resting the gun back into the provided holster for the game, he laughed uncomfortably as he tried to think of a way to cheer up his disappointed new friend (or rather, arch-nemesis??). "He's probably some ugly neckbeard anyways. Heh. Maybe he couldn't convince his mom to give him a ride out here, yeah?" The comment about Overwatch had him balking, though. "I... yeah, I've heard of it, seems a little too... uhhh... chaotic, don't you think?" Cue: time to start backwalking towards the exit!!

"That's still really neat though? You ever find yourself slipping some words in to throw people off?" She waggled her eyebrows at him, because if she could speak another language the first things she would find were the raunchiest cuss words and use them for gaming.
"Auuuuugh." She holstered the gun and then laughed, "He could be! Could be some fresh from puberty brat too. You never know."
Her eyes widened and before he could escape, she took her hands in his. "Wow you've played Overwatch!?! It's really chaotic but that's what makes it so fun? Hey, if you play, you should give me your gamer tag! I would love to run some raids with you if you want!"
She let go of his hands and brought her cellphone, "Wanna exchange numbers too?"

"I....." Had he been part of the animal kingdom, Alrik Rey might have keeled over and promptly pretended to die in an attempt to avoid this pretty girl's line of questioning in hopes of her walking away and forgetting all about this pesky arch-nemesis and battletag nonsense. As he was not part of the animal kingdom, clammy hand froze in hers as he stared at her dumbly. "Uh... I...I don't remember exactly what it was, I know there were several numbers in it but I can't remember off the top of my head?" Okay - that sounded plausible. Sort of. Her phone flew up to her face and his hand was released, allowing him to add some additional space between the two of them. Okay, great, that'd be safer - phone numbers. He could text her and ghost her if he needed to, right?? "Su-Sure," he offered, pulling out his own iphone before offering the digits. After they exchanged them, however, he was quick to pocket it back and make a big gesture of staring down at the Zelda watch on his wrist. "I should.. probably get going. It was nice to meet you, Ciaran! Auf Wiedersehen!!!" And, just like that, Alrik Rey ran off like the little b***h he knew he was acting like.

"Okay! No problem!" Ciaran smiled brightly at him regardless, maybe he thought he was a really bad player and didn't want to disappoint or embarrass himself? She certainly knew those feels.
"Thanks! It was really nice meeting you Alrik!" She watched him check the time and then as he left, waved him off.
She didn't seem all that bothered though by him leaving, and took the time to play a couple more rounds before making her way home. Well if MastaRey didn't want to come to her, she'd just have to go to him.
Oh boy, she rubbed her hands together, thinking of all the terrible things she would do.
