Kaimana

It was a rather pleasant day out as the winds were still and the sun was shining through a faint layer of clouds that dotted the sky. Ever so gently in the background one could hear the ocean waves as they lapped against the sands. It was almost melodic the way that nature seemed today with even the birds making their own noises above as they circled around in the sky. Below them sat the figure of a lithe Matori apprentice with his long hair gently swaying as a sea breeze faintly came to life causing some movement in the air around him. It wasn't too bad though just enough to cause the slightest of shivers before Kaimana picked up his charcoal again and pressed it to parchment. Now what did one decide to draw on a nice day like this? Pursing his lips thoughtfully the boy glanced around at the beach. Sure he could draw the ocean but he already had quite a few prints of that already.

"Damn, it's peaceful. Maybe I should just go find a snapper to wrestle with instead?" He quipped out loud to himself with a chuckle.

Pynar

The girls were out, again, Pynar thought as he shuffled along the beach. They were maturing faster, he was told, which tended to happen to girls quicker than boys, he was also told. It still didn't keep him from feeling any less lonely. He was the youngest, Py tried to remind himself. Once he got a little big bigger he could go out with them on their adventures. He stopped as he felt like he'd wandered out far enough on his own and plopped down in the sand. He dug his feet in slightly and covered his legs so that they were buried before he leaned back and laid in the sun. They'd be back soon, right?

Kaimana

Rolling up the parchment Kai sighed. He didn't want to stare at the ocean waves forever so it was time to move on. He could venture a bit further down the beach and hopefully would stumble into something interesting. And stumble he did. As the Matori whistled and walked down across the sands he found one foot catching on something.

Eyes widening he dramatically rolled and after a moment of laying on the sands the boy pushed himself up to a sitting position and attempted to shake off some of th sand that had gotten on his clothing, skin, hair and everything else. "He-hey!" He blinked in confusion before his gaze settled on another blue figure, "Oooh. I was thinking it could be a ghost but I guess a buried body could trip me as well..." At his words the boys eyes widened even further. Body?! Was this guy dead?! He slowly moved a hand forward as if to poke it...

Pynar

The youngling had been absolutely certain he'd been alone, so of course he had closed his eyes. There had been no way he would have guessed something would trample him, yet there he lay as something tripped on his half buried form and fell in the sand beside him. Guessing the worst, Pynar was rigidly still and kept his eyes clamped shut. If a beast found you you were supposed to play dead right? Or was it run...gah! He thought, this was why he needed his sisters with him.

But, he'd heard a voice, beasts weren't able to speak. That still left the question of WHO had ran him over. Hesitantly, he cracked an eye open and saw....a matori? Not like that was unusual...they were in Matori after all. Still, as the other poked him, he jumped as they had unknowingly found a tickle spot. His hands covered his sides. "Momma said it's not nice to stare...or poke..." He looked away, not wanting to stare himself.

Kaimana

This was a moment of truth. Kaimana felt his heart pounding in his ears as he leaned closer and closer. If it was dead then what would he do? Roll the body into the sea? Try to find the family? Go on an epic quest to try and revive such a young and surely innocent life? Oooh the dramatics. Squinting his gaze the Matori quickly finished his mission of poking the body before finding himself surprised by...giggles?

"Hey dead bodies don't laugh." He joked lightly before pulling back with a chuckle, "Sorry little guy but I just had to make sure you were still with us. How come you're all the way out here half buried like that?" He tilted his head as he did the other not nice thing by staring and studying the boy, "Oooh and you're a hybrid too..huh. that's cool."

Pynar

"HUMF. Why would a dead body be laying about anyway. Besides. The scavengers would get it before you would." Pynar seemed somewhat appalled that the older kid thought he was dead! Seriously, who does that? The young boy frowned, it probably wasn't wise to talk to strangers but...if his sisters were here they'd have no problem speaking with this matori boy. Maybe he should try and be a little more like his sisters today. Maybe then he'd mature faster too.

"My sisters went off today for a 'girls day'...whatever that is. They left me behind and...I had nothing better to do." He shrugged as he wiggled his toes in the sand, still not looking directly at the boy. Everywhere around him, yes, but not directly at. It made him even more cautious as it was pointed out that he was a hybrid. Some people weren't too fond of hybrids so he was sure to be on his guard.

Kaimana

"I mean would it be walking or standing instead?" Questioned Kai before grinning, "I mean if that becomes the case you won't see me on this beach." The walking dead? No thanks! Just the thought sent a shiver down his spine though the younger boy was right...he really was morbid for jumping straight to a death conclusion.

"Oooh, I see. Well that's lame to do that to ya." Kaimana frowned as he plopped on the sand next to the other boy, "Though you really had nothing better to do than bury yourself? You should enjoy the freedom, go have some fun of your own while they do their thing." Kaimana paused and studied the boy for a moment before reaching out a hand. Maybe he didnt like looking directly at strangers so why not fix that problem?

"I'm Kai by the way. It's nice to meet ya."

Pynar

"Have you ever seen a dead body on a beach? Because I haven't so...I don't know why they'd be walking or standing if they weren't here in the first place." It was simple wasn't it?

He shook his head. His sisters weren't lame! Not at all. "They're not lame. They're just...bigger than I am and sometimes they can't be with me all the time." Sometimes he wondered about that, if he forced his siblings to spend time with him and kept them from what they wanted to be doing. Maybe he shouldn't pout as much like he was doing now. As the other introduced himself, Py did take the chance to look at him. He seemed about his sisters age. "I'm Pynar, or Py for short." Was it nice to meet him? He'd already been trampled and argued with about the dead. Was it nice? He wasn't sure yet.

Kaimana post 5

"Well...things happen." Kaimana forced a laugh before shaking his head, "Either way there isn't any dead body here so we can uh leave that subject alone." He smiled towards the youngling, "Seriously don't mind me. I honestly just wasn't expecting anyone out here today. It's so quiet right?"

The Matori could only raise a brow at the defensive reaction. Seemed like the kid was close to his family which was nice, buuut perhaps a bit too defensive? Kai grinned ever so faintly before snapping his fingers at a thought, "Well why not do something with me then Pynar? I'm sure we men can go find some fun just like your sisters are doing. We can explore the beach or something. What do you say?"

Pynar

The guy seemed nice enough...Py wished his sisters were here, they were so much better at telling a person's character than he was. Well, they weren't with him and he had to do his best. As he thought internally he sighed. "I don't think that would be a good idea....I'm not supposed to wander far....I don't think going anywhere would be a good idea." But, his brain told itself, it would be something to do. His sisters would do it so why does he have such a hard time of it?

Kaimana

"So what?" Kai tilted his head as a sly grin spread across his features, "Does that mean staying here for the tide to wash over you is a safer option?" The Matori shook his head, "How about we just wander a few feet here and there? I'll even leave something to mark this spot so you can see it at all times." His gaze brightened at the thought, "Surely that works. And we can collect some shells or something so it's not an awfully dangerous or scary thing." Didnt kids like things like that? Scavenger hunts and the like?

"We can make a cool pattern or something creative. We just gotta grab some shells and what ever else you can find to decorate with."

Pynar

Pynar eyed the matori boy, still unsure. Perhaps it might be fun to do what he was saying. His hands combed through the sand around him while deciding. Maybe he could. Maybe if he didn't go very far it'd be okay. And if they made something neat, he could show his sisters! Okay, he'd decided then. Pynar dusted his legs off completely and stood up. "I guess as long as we stay near here it'll be okay." He eyed him again though he had already made a decision so he knew he had to stick to it.

Kaimana

"Nice!" Kaimana grinned, pleased that the boy was willing to agree with his shenanigans, "So when I want to begin I usually just go with a gut feeling and pick a direction." He pursed his lips thoughtfully and tapped a finger against his chin while he glanced around, "I personally think we should start with the smaller pools of water caught by the rocks to the right. What do you think?"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2017 9:41 am

Pynar

"Hmmmmm." If his sisters were here they'd know where to go to find some sea shells. Py, however, didn't. So it would seem he'd have no other choice but to follow the older boys suggestion. "Okay, let's go there and look. Do we need to look for any kinds in particular?" He wasn't exactly sure what they were going to be doing so he just needed to follow his lead.

Kaimana

"Nothing in particular, just whatever you feel is interesting." Kaimana started to walk towards the tide pools but continued talking, "We could make necklaces out of shells or make a grande sand fort for you to show to your sisters. Whatever you wanna do." He smirked as he glanced back towards the younger boy, "If there's one thing I'm good at it's being crafty at least." He walked around a cluster of the rocks and paused when he was in a good position to glance towards the tide pools. They were smaller pools of reflective waters that had small creatures and shells throughout. Kaimana even reached down to pick up a strange five legged creature, "If you ever need a quick decoration you could always stick one of these guys in your hair." He teased before demonstrating to the youngling.
