It feels better to schedule something like this, Babel has thought to herself multiple times over the past day or two; it feels better, if she schedules it, if she acts like it's planned and it's not just because she's put this one simple action off for months. She's not necessarily frightened of Saturn, of what could be at Babel itself, but - she doesn't trust it. That's all. That's perfectly normal and nothing to point at.
(She doesn't believe any of that. She knows it's pointless paranoia. But she'd like to convince herself, one day, that at least one of her lies is true.)
What's easy, then, is to fiddle with her hair and wait for Scholomance and Aokigahara to show up; it's a crossroads spot, out of the way but not too out of the way, a few streets over from a department store with holiday decorations bedecking the streetlights. Just close enough to apartments that public violence would be noticed - it's what she needs, probably. Safety first! Safety first. Noir Sonqbird no preference on posting order, whichever one of you goes first determines it i guess???

Scholomance chose not to hesitate at the wonder invite. Sure, the nerves were there, constantly simmering for every sober second. He was acquainted with his planet, acquainted with what it meant across several wonders. None entailed life, fruitfulness, beauty in a natural sense. Most of its wonders were stark, gothic, and littered with bone. He imagined that Babel would be no exception to this rule. He hoped, however vainly, to be wrong.
But the invitation wasn't just a free tour of another Saturn wonder — Babel was coming with them. Babel, a page he barely met inside of a youma confrontation. That she trusted him enough to invite him along was flattering, given his image. And on top of that, her reaching out was an invitation to start cementing some relationships within the knighthood — relationships they each sorely needed if they intended to survive the war. Where the Negaverse held fast to organization and hierarchy, the knighthood had nothing. Well, they had Knight Nights, and an instant messaging system that was as stark and dead as AOL instant messaging at this point.
Scholomance came from the direction of the department building, as Zalmoxis delivered him on its back. Tireless hooves beat against the ground anachronistically, like a steady heartbeat to the engine drones below. Another pair of buildings were crested easily with his knees spared their daily trauma. The horse-construct vaporized from beneath him soon after they lighted on the building shared by Babel.
While his dismount was fluid, it wasn't completely practiced — the knight flinched in tweaking his hip. The lapse of grace was smoothed over with an unveiled grin. "Good to see you again, Babel. Nothing like visiting Saturn to dodge freezing my nuts off." He spoke briskly, and his gaze found the sky with a squint. I hope it's nothing like Scholomance.
"Ready when you are."
