WARNING GRAPHIC VIOLENCE Okay not too graphic but still, don't want anyone reading anything they aren't ready for. :3
Kim was following the creature, she wasn't sure what it was that she was following, just that she wanted to get it on film, and take down some information on it. She had broken off from the group, she knew she shouldn't but had. This was something she felt she needed to do.
The creature was huge, large claws, a beak-like mouth and an apparently nasty temper. Unfortunately, Kim was Kim. She was more interested in getting close enough to learn about the creature, than about keeping herself safe. This time, fortune was not on her side. She had been knocked around by a few creatures, swatted, clawed and cut up. This time..

Kim laughed as she stood in front of the creature, pulling her phone out, thinking to take a selfie with it. The creature was having none of it. It roared at her, the beak like maw opening to a larger extent that seemed possible, one of it's clawed appendages rising swinging at the spunky hunter.
Kim leapt out of the way, laughing still. She felt immortal, she felt like nothing could touch her. She had beat death once and she was certain that it made her special.
To everyone the truth will come, and it came at her with another howling roar, swinging it's claws, only this time Kim didn't move fast enough. With a gasp and a moan she found herself pinned to the wall. The large claw crushing her, keeping her trapped.
Kim pushed hard at the large claw, trying to break free, struggling her hands grasping, working to release herself.
STOP, Don't Kim, Don't fight, The claw is the only thing holding you together! Chinthliss was yelling in her mind, his voice was a frantic shout, more than a warning, closer to begging her.
Kim stopped struggling, confused. How could the claw be the only think holding her...
Then she saw. The other clawed appendage was lifting her lower half, lifting her legs into the beaked maw, eating her. She felt her skin run cold as she watched in horror. "I.. am cut in.."
Yes, and if it lets go you will not only bleed out, you.. Kim it will not hold you forever, you know that, and if no one finds you.."
The reality of the moment hit her like a slap in the face. She had done her own thing one time too many. She had run off, left the rest of the team. No one knew she was there. She didn't know what to do, she could only watch, aware that she was just waiting for her last moments. The creature was eating her slowly, it didn't care, as far as it was concerned she had given herself to it.
What have I done? I was always so sure that I could get out of anything. I was always certain of my actions, and.. well, here is the truth. I am my own worst enemy. Nothing has done more harm to me than my own actions. Terry, I .. I broke my promise to him to be careful. A small whimper broke from her lips as she felt the creature grab her arm, tearing it off at the shoulder. She would have screamed by she was already weakening fast.
It had no need to rush, this was the first thing in a long time to be stupid enough to go into it's den.
I am sorry I can't help you Kim. I tried to warn you, but you just don't listen. All I can do is be here...
I am grateful for that Chinthliss, I don't want to die alone.
The creature scuttled around, before ripping off her other arm, she could see the tendons snapping, and was aware that Chinthliss' final gift to her was sparing her this pain. She should have been screaming in agony. Instead she was crying. She was bleeding badly, but her fear shield was keeping her from dying right out. A curse and a blessing all at once.
Smaller creatures had moved in, and were eating her organs, she could feel them crawling over her, climbing the wall. How much longer could this last?

Days? Months? or just Minutes?
It didn't matter anymore. She just knew that time was endless now. She had only her thoughts and Chinthliss with her.
Hey boss? I'm sorry I was such a fool. I wish you could have found someone better.
Kim, you.. you weren't perfect, no one is, but I had more hope for you. I don't regret it, I just wish I could have helped teach you more. I don't regret it though. Sleep now, sleep, the end is near and.. I don't want you to feel it. Please sleep.
I'm afraid to sleep. I am afraid of going alone. Please don't leave me.
It was like a warm pair of arms around her. She thought of her friends, the ones that stood by her. Seren, Joy, Rhys and Terry. Terry, she didn't want to hurt them again. "I am sorry Terry.. forgi- "
In that moment the claw released her blood spilled down the wall, the rest of her organs spilling out, and her eyes glassed over. It was a wave of hot and cold all at once as she saw the beak opening around her head, heard her skull crack.. and all went black.

Her eyes shot open and she let out a squeak of terror.
It was worse than a scream because it held the fear inside. There was no rush of relief. Her heart was thudding and she put her hand to her heart.
She had.. She had died. She had gone off alone and died alone, just Chinthliss there with her. She had..
"N-No way.. not going off alone.." She shivered and pulled a blanket tight around her not ready to go back to sleep. All her documenting was going to be done with someone with her. No wandering.
She knew, she just knew if she did... It was waiting down one of those passages. IT would find her.
