Kyril enjoyed going on walks, especially in the early morning when the sunlight was starting to brighten the world. The different colored rays of light looked beautiful along the ocean waves and the chilly morning breeze only served to freshen the air and help her to wake up. Tightening her teal wrap along her shoulders Kyril glanced down at the flowers held in her hands. Today was the anniversary of the passing of someone she had known a long time ago and so she felt like it was only fitting to bring them flowers in memory. Now that she had finished creating the bouquet of gold and white flowers the hybrid was standing at the front door of her family's manor as she was prepared to leave. But today she wasnt going alone since she had offered to take one of her younger siblings with her so that they could spend the day together and give her parents the time to do other errands as well.
"Pynar?" Kyril pursed her lips as she glanced around for her youngest brother. Was he awake and ready?

Pynar was excited for the opportunity to spend time with one of his older siblings. Kyril had made time for him so he made sure he was ready at the appropriate hour. Though, that didn't mean the young boy wanted to rush the older sibling. He'd been sitting and ready until Kyril had called, the thought of him making her wait hadn't even crossed his mind until that point. With a gasp he ran to the door and out the house. "I'm here! I'm here! Don't leave without me!" Pynar gabe his sister an affectionate hug before waiting for her to lead the way. The curiousity a child was bound to have showed itself as he noticed the flowers. "Kyril, what are the flowers for? Did some boy give them to you?" Boys gave girls flowers, that was something he learned last week.

"Oh!" Kyril laughed as her little brother appeared, "Don't worry I would never do that." She smiled as she reached down to ruffle his hair lovingly, "The flowers?" She glanced towards the bouquet in her hands as they began to walk away from their family home and towards a different path, one that she rarely took which swerved away from the village and towards cliffs that were nestled between her home and the first line of fishing huts. "They aren't really from anyone, haha. If anything they're from me for someone else."

"From you for someone else?" Pynar cocked his head as he looked up at his sister as they went down a different path than he'd ever taken before. "Are they for mom or dad? Who are they for?" He asked nosily but innocently. The young boy looked around nervously. Should HE have brought flowers too? Maybe he should..."Can we stop so I can get some flowers too? If you're giving someone flowers shouldn't I too?"

Kyril smiled, "The flowers are for someone you never got to really meet." She glanced towards Pynar, her expression a mixture of emotions that almost appeared like serenity tinged with the slightest of sorrow, "But I'm sure they would love flowers from you as well. There's some wildflowers growing along the path up ahead, would you like to pick some for them when we get there?"

Pynar nodded happily. He sure would like to get some flowers too! He didn't want to show up empty handed. But what did sister mean? "So did they move or travel alot? Why else wouldn't I have gotten to meet them?" Oh no. But what if....."Do you have a secret friend!?" Because that was the worst thing his young innocent mind could come up with: keeping secrets. Py noticed the slight change in his sister and frowned. "Kyril? What is it?" Was there anything he could do to help?

Kyril pursed her lips thoughtfully at her brother's question, "They did travel away in a sense. They went to a place that none of us can visit them." At least not while living. So she would prefer it that none of her family could visit the granny for a very long, long time.
Her brother's innocent question caused her lips to twitch upward with amusement, "Not really a secret friend, Pynar." She reached down to pat his head, "It's hard to explain but sometimes people go away and never come back. She's passed away Pynar." Kyril motioned to the winding path before them, "See those flowers there? Feel free to go grab some for her and we can continue on."

The boy gathered a handful of flowers from the field Kyril had indicated. Oh choosing the very best obviously. With each flower he picked, he made sure to out it in just the right spot in the bouquet as he thought on what he'd just been told.
"Oh." Py said when he'd returned to his sisters side with a handful of flowers. He understood now. The frown stayed on his face as he stood there and thought for a few moments more. "They must be lonely...but...if we can't visit them...what are we doing? And...who is them?" Py really did want to understand even if his questions might make someone even more sad.

As Pynar gathered the flowers Kyril simply watched. Even though things were quieter now the mage was still wary when it came to her younger siblings and secretly had her runes in hand while he gathered. When he came back to her Kyril forced a small smile.
"It's perhaps more of us remembering them and their life." Kyril started walking forward once more, "She was a granny who we knew in the nearby village. When I was a child she always helped mother watch over me and Koril as she shopped in the market. She always had the best sweets and enjoyed our wildflowers we picked her." Kyril grinned, "Even if they came damaged on occasion. She passed when you were very little so you won't remember her." And today was the anniversary of that passing, the real reason that Kyril had decided on this particular walk today.

With Kyril's smile once more, his resumed as well. "She sounds really nice..." He wondered if making Kyril talk about the granny made her sad. But she seemed okay so he continued on. "So today you're thinking of her. And bringing her flowers...will she know?" He didn't know what happened when people left. Did they know if you visited them?" Maybe him bringing flowers would make her happy too!

Kyril nodded, "That she was." The hybrid smiled thankfully at her youngest sibling. If anything it seemed Pynar was always the best at bringing a smile to someone's face, "I like to think that they know. It makes it feel more meaningful though to bring flowers is also a good way for us to remember them. Even if they're gone they still left an impact on our lives, big or small." Her steps slowed as they walked further uphill until the sight of a small garden on top of the cliffs greeted them. Here rested several stones of various shapes and sizes all in memory of someone.
Kyril pointed to a smaller stone towards the back of the group, "There's her memory stone Pynar. We can leave her flowers there."

Pynar followed all the way to the top of the hill and gasped a little when he saw the little garden. How had he never noticed this before? It was pretty amazing to him. Though, as Kyril pointed to a certain "memory stone", realization hit him that every stone he saw was likely in memory of a person someone had lost. He found himself unable to move. Sure he understood, on the most basic level, that everyone meets there time eventually. But he'd never seen such a....physical reminder before. The youngling suddenly found his nose a bit runny as he sniffled and walked to where Kyril had indicated.
As he placed his flowers down in front of the stone, making sure they were absolutely perfect, he began speaking. "Dear Granny. I know you don't know me or if you can even hear me. But Kyril thinks that you'd know that we visited so it would make sense that you can hear us. Kyril seems to really miss you and she told me about you and you sound like such a nice lady. We brought you flowers and of course they're absolutely perfect, even if Kyril said they didn't have to be and that you wouldn't mind. I hope this helps you to be less lonely! Now that I know you're here I will visit more often, I promise!" Pynar, careful of the flowers he had so carefully arranged, hugged the stone before returning to Kyril, a small smile on his face. "I think she knows too."

Her heart ached ever so faintly. While Kyril had adored the Granny she knew it wasn't the same as losing a lover or a close family member. Yet the ache of death still filled her soul with a bittersweet feeling, something that only grew as she remembered the Granny as she had been in life.
At Pynar's words Kyril felt her gaze burning with unshed tears. How he spoke, how he just poured his heart out even to someone he had never met, just melted her heart. The hybrid moved in turn and laid the flowers down, "We all miss you, Granny Lu." She whispered softly before moving to rub Pynar's back comfortingly, "Good job, Pynar. I'm sure she was happy to hear you say all that. And look - the flowers really lighten up the place, right?" She smiled faintly before her gaze moved towards the edge of the cliff, "And she can hear the ocean from here. It's a lovely resting place."
Kyril glanced back to Pynar, "But I suppose if we're to get to town as well today we should move on. Granny should be happy that we left her flowers and we can do so again another day, okay?"

The boy didn't miss how watery his sister's eyes looked yet he leaned into her and squeezed her tightly. Gentlemen didn't point out stuff like that right? "They do. I wonder why none of the other stones have any flowers. Perhaps we should take turns and bring flowers to these other people too. But thank you for letting me come with you and telling me about Granny. I would like to do this again!" Pynar smiled happily back up at her and took her hand. Swinging it ever so slightly, he walked the path towards town. "Kyril, if I ever leave, I want you to bring me flowers and talk to me too okay?" The young boy didn't realize that his sister would likely go before him but it was the thought that counted!
