She wore layers and had bright pink hair and all he could think of was how much she looked like someone Nash would hang out with. Someone in some kind of scene and into things a canyon's devide from his crew. Was it emo or punk or goth? Were there new names of these groups now? Should he dye his hair? He still had the white patch.
He felt old just thinking about it.
Shaking hinself back into focus, he moved accross the training field to her. "Hello. Do you mind if you can help me with something. I need a sparring partner."

Hitting immobile dummies was, as usual, boring as ********. It was with great relief that Dottie heard somebody approach, and was turning towards the figure even before he spoke, a smirk on her lips beneath the bandanna that hid it. She eyed him up and down. He didn't look like much, to her at least, but looks could often be deceiving, as she'd learned. "Ya." She said, barely needing to think it over, swinging her katana up to rest it's blade atop her shoulder, head tilting back, eyes narrowing. "If you think you can handle me." Always boastful, no matter who she was speaking to.

"Great. Maybe you can show me how to swing a sword." He said, pointing at the one at her shoulder.
"Just got one myself and I am a mess with it." Not that the weapon was a permanent one.
Stepping back, he moved to pick up a rod from a set and came back, a blade coming out the top end of the rod, making it a sword.
"Since I asked, you have first move." He said, smiling. HP: 60/60

Unfortunately, Dottie was still learning a thing or two about her katana herself, and wasn't exactly adept at controlling it, yet. Still, the man was offering her a chance to do something besides wailing on a dummy, and she was quite eager for a change in pace. "Sure." She said, smirk widening as she drew her bandanna down to hang around her neck. "You're too kind, sir." She said, though she couldn't quite keep the typical mocking tone out of her voice. "Let the demonstration begin." Still mocking, though now it was intended. She gave a little bow, arms held wide with her sword held to the side, before she quickly pivoted and struck with a quick swing towards his torso. HP: 40 Damage: 6 Charge: 1/3

He jumped back, touching his stomach above where she slashed and already feeling nervous with her first choice in a target. Any lower still and he would need to protect his valuables. He didn't want to end his recent re-entry into the dating world that quickly.
"A little low." He mentioned and slashed towards her heart.
"I'd say I'm in your care, teacher, but I don't think I am." He nervously joked.

Okay, well, that had hurt. Not as much as she was sure it could have, given the shield, but it was still a staggering strike that sent her careening backwards. This guy, while not appearing like much just from first glance, was clearly quite a bit tougher than she had first given him credit for. Why was it that she was spending her first few months on this island repeatedly getting her a** kicked. "Uh, thinking it might be you who should be teaching me, buddy." She said, scowling a little, though more at her own apparent ineptitude than at him. HP: 31 Damage: 0 Charge: 1/3

"It can be a shared lesson. A one on one practice with hopefully something we can both take away from it. You're a lot more fluid in your movements with your blade. I feel stiff doing this. I prefer long range. I never actually feel my attacks hit from right through my body. I just see it. It's jarring."
He moved in as she was stepping back to swipe at her chest again.
