Tytus Post 1

Since his beach expedition with Seziah Tytus had been kept busy at the manor. While it made him nervous to no end that she was away from him and spending more time with Zakeel the young Oban couldn't do much. Yu needed him, after all, and despite his typically care free nature even Tytus recognized that he had some responsibility to help the noble who had covered for him once more. He had to assist his friend with several errands and had even left the estate with him for a couple of days. During that time he thought of approaching the subject of Seziah with Yu but every chance it seemed continued to get taken away from him, someone else would approach them in mid conversation for example or if it was at the end of the day Yu had already passed out in bed by the time Tytus tried to speak with him. Eventually he would talk to him and gods forbid Tytus was even contemplating going to live in the manor to be around Seziah more. If Yu's offer from many months ago was still valid that was. Who knew what the situation was now that Yu's fiancee was still present in the estate? Tytus could only hope that Seziah was doing well, he had left a few gifts here and there for her as well. Even if he couldn't spend physical time with her he tried to leave a variety of things outside her door, whether a simple piece of fruit or even a scarf that he now carried in his hands.

He had just come back home with Yu from another two day trip and was hopeful that he could catch Seziah alone. If not then he could always leave the gift on her bed as he usually did when she was out and he didn't have a chance to truly linger. He would love to linger again though considering they never truly had much of a chance to reenact their last date nor had they much time to actually discuss things, mainly the two of them being together, as well.

Seziah Post 1

It somehow felt as though Seziah had been here before. Of course she’d been here physically before, in the servants’ washroom, but it was more like the situation as a whole was familiar to her: sitting bent on the floor, with a bucket at her side and her stomach roiling. It was uncomfortable enough that she didn’t think she’d forget the sensation, though she couldn’t recall being sick since she’d cme to the estate…

Nearly a full cycle of the moon had passed since she and Tytus had last had an opportunity to spend any substantial amount of time together. Seziah couldn’t be for certain if it was because he was too busy for her or if she was too busy for him, but it felt suspiciously like the latter, through no choice of her own. She reasoned that Zakeel must have noticed their prolonged absence together a month ago, and he must have resolved not to let her escape with Tytus again. He kept her occupied if not with his physical presence, than with more chores and duties than she’d had at her initial ‘welcoming.’ He’d claimed it was because she’d had time to acclimate between then and now, but Seziah wondered if she ought question his motives…

Either way, he’d likely be offended if she didn’t set to work quickly.

But as Seziah rose into a stand, her stomach gave a particularly violent churn, and she snapped back down, face to the bucket, while it felt as though every muscle in her body tensed to expel the contents of her stomach. It was in the same moment that she tasted bile that the exact circumstances surrounding why this felt familiar fell clicking into place, and an all-encompassing fear chased hot on its heels.

She couldn’t be certain her fears were being realized, she reasoned. The cuisine had been great and diverse since her journey here, so perhaps she’d finally found something that upset her stomach… It could just be food poisoning. It could just be food poisoning.

Whether it was or not, the nausea abated only slightly after the upheaval, so Seziah set to tidying herself up and mentally preparing herself to do whatever was necessary to get through the day.

Tytus Post 2

Tytus felt like a thief in the night whenever he came into the estate these days. Not because he was ashamed of seeing Seziah but rather he was intent upon keeping his time spent with her under the radar. He acknowledged that Zakeel had an eye on the Yaeli and Tytus didn't wish to stir up anymore trouble for her than was necessary. The maids as well were a hassle as he knew that his past didn't make the situation any less volatile for the more reckless women working in the estate. They weren't foreigners either and had a place as Obans in the manor, even the Matori workers had some more pull than someone from Yael. It frustrated Tytus to no end to recognize the delicate situation, but at the same time he wasn't going to let the woman go. He had his own place here and he knew Yu would be on his side should a conflict occur with Zakeel - not that it made him any less wary since it seemed the young noble was constantly sending Seziah to work. Even when Tytus was here it seemed that all of his attempts to visit were blocked by the fact that she wasn't in her room or with others doing the more typical chores.

His lips pressed into a thin line at the thought and he found his fingers curling even more tightly on the crimson scarf that was embroidered with golden flowers and fluttering insects with large delicate wings. Today he wouldn't be foiled. Tytus had determination and he would succeed in seeing Seziah today. It was the very reason he had worked his a** off since the earliest hours before dawn had even thought to grace the land with any light. He also had to skirt around Yu and Yu's fiance who could surely only cause more trouble if Tytus was spotted in the estate. Thoughtfully his gaze went down towards the scarf that he held. It was fine to be here doing this, but why did he worry about Yu as well? Surely the Oban would believe Tytus to only be having a fling and recommend for him to focus on more important matters than a woman. I'll just need to try and express myself to him later. Eventually he would get around to it, right? Tytus closed his eyes for a moment in frustration before lowering his hand and hurrying towards the servant quarters. Surely Seziah would be there still, not even Zakeel was awake this early in the day.

It was with that hope which Tytus quickly scurried down the corner and towards Seziah's door which he quietly knocked upon.

Seziah Post 2

With a final glance over herself in the mirror to ensure that she didn’t appear too ill, Seziah dusted herself and strode from the washroom. This… this could potentially complicate things, couldn’t it? There was still a chance she could be jumping to conclusions. Only a proper healer would be able to tell for sure this early if she was actually with child. Sez dusted a hand down the front of her dress and swallowed thickly. It should be something she ought to be able to tell on her own, though… She’d been trained by Diavel in the healing arts and this was a natural process that she should be familiar with…

But it was still so early. She wasn’t even showing, was she? At only a month in, Seziah still couldn’t say for certain if she’d even yet missed a meeting with the full moon goddess…

So there was really nothing to be done in this instant. If she worried over it when it could be nothing, it was just a waste of her time. And if she worried over it when it could be something, it was an unneeded stress on the baby. It was important to remain calm and rational and not jump to conclusi-

Seziah’s gaze flicked down the hall to her room and landed pointedly on the man who stood before her door.

“Tytus,” she whispered softly. Any thought of being calm and rational was quickly dashed as she spotted him, replaced instead by a gripping anxiety and a slew of questions that she’d likely only have moments to answer. Should she mention her concerns to him? Would he want to know? Would he care? If they had conceived a child together, their offspring would be a hybrid, and would that offend him? That he’d potentially helped bring a tiny, unwanted abomination into the world? What would the life of such a child even be like- How would Seziah’s life change here once it became apparent that she’d allowed herself to bed a man that wasn’t her young lord?

She could be sent out, abandoned, left alone. What would she do? Where could she go-

She should say nothing.

The thought came to her in a single drop of clarity amongst the tumultuous waves. She should say nothing until she knew more and had a better idea of how it would affect her and her only friend. There was nothing wrong with waiting. She only needed to do her best until then, to appear normal.

With a shaky exhale, Seziah dusted a mess of curls behind her shoulder as she approached him. “Tytus,” she repeated. “I thought you’d been away from the manor for several days… And were indeed still gone. What brings you here?”

Tytus Post 3

Ah so he had missed her once more. Tytus couldn't help the way his hopeful expression fell into the look of a discarded pup. He had worked so hard to try to foil Zakeel's ploy but it seemed his efforts were in vain. Was it a futile hope that he could infiltrate the servants' quarters to visit the woman he fancied? Dammit this was frustrating! Perhaps he should just go give the little b*****d a piece of his mind...but no that would only make Yu upset. Tytus simply had to tighten his jaw in frustration before turning on his heel to leave. He would just keep trying and eventually something would have to give.

Ironically enough just as he was ready to retreat from the hall a soft voice caught his attention. His clenched jaw loosened as he opened it to take a quick surprised gasp of air, "Seziah?" The name left his lips like a prayer and with the way his gaze brightened one could assume that his prayers had indeed been answered, "You're here!" Immediately Tytus glanced around to make certain the hallway was still vacant of others. The last thing he wanted was to be caught with Seziah here, though just thinking that made his stomach knot. It was unfair that he had to sneak around like this when he wasn't the type of person to hide anything. Eventually things won't be like this. it was for her own benefit after all.

At the question Tytus rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, "We arrived earlier than expected so I thought I would visit." He paused a moment before quickly holding out his right hand, "And I wanted to give you this. Do you have time? Is it okay for me to sit in your room for a moment? Rather awkward lingering out here in the hallway after all..."

Seziah Post 3

Few men could manage to look so… so innocent, Seziah thought, as her gaze darted quickly between the man before her, the floor, and the door to her room. He really did look pleased to see her after they’d been essentially apart for the better part of the past few weeks. A part of her had thought that maybe he’d found someone else to be interested in during his time away. It wasn’t worth mentioning aloud, of course, because her concerns were neither too great nor very fair, but they’d been there. They would always be there, she imagined… But it seemed to be that he still enjoyed her company, at least. Enough so to seek her out and be pleased when he found her.

Though Seziah wasn’t sure what she felt.

Alarm and fear, mostly and perhaps a very small twinge of pleased delight to be able to make a boy happy to see her just by seeing her and nothing else. It was still mostly overshadowed by anxiety, but perhaps that would pass. As he extended his hand to her, and the folded garment within it, Seziah reached to brush her fingers against the fabric. “It- It is beautiful…” She admitted softly, pale orbs lingering on the scarf before sweeping up to study Tytus’ face for as long as she dared. It was only a moment, but she thought that despite his open happiness at seeing her, there were deeper concerns for him that would need addressing at some point.

She swallowed and thought to refuse anything more than what they were doing currently. Always, she’d hated people in her room. It had often been the only safe space she could claim for herself, and it was no different for here than it had been at the Institute. Though Tytus was her friend and did look pleased to see her, he was still currently the source of a great deal of uncertainty.

But he was her only friend, and a companion who she considered herself quite close with. If she couldn’t trust him to not act out, she may as well not trust anyone, ever. So, Seziah nodded, twisted the knob of her door, nudged it open, and stepped aside to allow him entrance first. “I know it is a bit unorthodox, but if we could perhaps take up seats on the floor so as to not disturb my bedsheets, I would be very grateful…”

Tytus Post 4

Tytus found his gaze drifting to Seziah's fingers and a small delighted smile spread across his features as she admired the scarf, "I'm glad you think so." He replied quietly as he glanced up happily, "I saw it and remembered your favorite color was red and it just...seemed like I should buy it for you." The back of his neck flushed lightly, "I guess it was a good decision then." He chuckled ever so slightly before taking a peek down the hallway. So far so good. He knew better than to push Seziah about entering her room, but he knew that if he couldn't then their time truly would be short today. Unless he stole her away again? Tytus paused thoughtfully before clenching a hand against his leg. No, that was probably not a wise decision since he had already gained attention from their last adventure out. Something like that would have to be carefully plotted since he didn't want Seziah to suffer any consequences for his own selfish actions.

As she consented to allowing him to enter her bedroom Tytus gave a relieved grin, "Thank you." He breezed past her so that he could stride into the room. His gaze immediately drifted around the premise to get an idea of where Seziah lived and took care of herself. It definitely was a much smaller room than the others he had visited, but it was still an upgrade from living in the stables. Well technically for Tytus he preferred the stables and thought solitude was the better option while a room in a house of so many others seemed a bit of a hassle. However it was much cleaner and in a way safer for Seziah to have an actual room. Tytus chuckled softly under his breath as he thought about things. Only he would be the one stubborn enough to insist on living outside of a decent room. As his gaze finally rested again on Seziah the Oban paused at her suggestion, "I suppose that is fine since I'm the one imposing after all." That stated Tytus plopped on the floor and crossed his legs, "So..." He stated as he patted the ground across from him, "It's been a while, how are you doing?" He twisted a stray strand of hair back behind an ear, "I know I haven't been around much and was worrying about how you were faring within the estate."

Seziah Post 4

Seziah stepped in at Tytus’ back, clicking the door shut behind her and standing hesitantly with her back to the wall. Boys were easily the most unwelcome thing in her personal chambers since her last encounter with Litanu. While out on the beach with wind in her hair and sunlight on her face it was easy to forget how little she actually trusted men as a whole, but here, with nothing between them and four walls boxing them in, it was all too easy to remember.

But this was Ty, she reasoned, and he wouldn’t do anything too unmanageably untoward.

At least, not so long as she remained ‘normal,’ and could show herself to be composed and not horrified at the future she feared may be presented to her- to them. Seziah pinched her tongue between her teeth, and dipped delicately to her knees at his side. If it were going to come out, it would be here, like this, where just the two of them sat in the secrecy of her bedroom… Her stomach gave an uncomfortable twist and lurch, as if the unpleasant sensation of nausea were trying to make itself known even to Tytus. She held her breath and rubbed at Tytus’ gift to her between her fingers.

“I am…” It would be a lie to tell him she was ‘well,’ or even ‘normal.’ She felt ill at that very moment and uncomfortable to even be in her closest friend’s presence so long as this secret remained between them. Still, there was no alternative. She would tell him soon, Seziah reminded herself. Maybe. If something actually came of it. But for now, the secret had to remain.

So she swallowed back the taste of bile and shook her head. “Admittedly, it is a bit more difficult to remain in the estate than I would have imagined before coming here. I believe I am at odds with our young master, now. The girls dislike me, and there is no one but you whose company I actually enjoy. So when you are not around, I find that I would rather keep to myself than tend to my duties… Though I still do, of course. It is just… more uncomfortable.”

Tytus Post 5

She seemed rather hesitant and that worried Tytus. What was on her mind? Had he personally done something to upset her? There was a slew of possibilities and he didn't like any of them. Tytus simply braced himself as he sat there cross-legged before Seziah, "ah." He replied quietly after her explanation.

He had hoped he had provided her with a decent place to stay but it seemed rather miserable instead, "I'm sorry." He replied as he glanced down at the floor shamefully, "I never meant for this to become a hardship for you." What had happened to having a new chapter in Oba? Tytus clenched his jaw, "If you would like I can go talk to Yu about Zakeel...." He glanced up at her, "I can't always be on the estate but I will try my best in this case. If anything should you need a break from it all I can arrange for another trip somewhere. We can visit the beach again or go explore the city. Whatever would help to relieve you of some stress, Seziah."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 05, 2017 9:02 am

Seziah Post 5

“There is no hardship,” Seziah assured quickly but softly, and it was true enough. Her experiences in Oba so far, even with complications from uncertain relationships between both Zakeel and Tytus, were not even comparable to anything that had happened in Oba. She considered herself to be leading a reasonably comfortable life, probably even in line with what someone her age would do normally, if they lived an average life. If she held fears now, it was only because of what could happen, rather than what already had. She could lose a friend and be unable to obtain another. She could be removed from the estate if she didn’t perform admirably enough toward Zakeel’s expectations…

But none of that had happened yet, and fearing it now could be a waste of her mental wellness and patience, particularly when the potential still remained that she soon may not have time to dedicate those things elsewhere… Seziah rubbed absently at her still-flat stomach and glanced down.

If children were soon to be in her future, it would do better to prepare now, rather than later. Sez’s gaze flicked up to him briefly, then away. When she spoke, her words came out in a quiet, mixed slur of sounds, needing him to know her concerns, but still hesitant to tell him. “I do not think it would do well to go to the beach or the city.” She paused, curled her fingers in her lap, and made it a point to look to him. “I think, more importantly than that, I ought to arrange a meeting with a proper healer.”

Tytus Post 6

Tytus narrowed his gaze. No hardship? Then what would one call her situation? With the maids bullying her and Zakeel studying her every step like some pet to be kept on a leash...Tytus took a breath as he fought against the urge to say anything. He would just wait and see what else she had to say first. It wasn't like his own words could do much when he truly didn't know what to say.

Now she was already rejecting his proposal so Tytus found himself at a standstill. What could he do for her then if not take her out for a breath of fresh air to try and relieve a portion of the stress weighing on her shoulders?

Her next words made the man's gaze widened from sheer surprise and innocence, "A healer? The title fell from his lips like a gasp of dread, "Are you sick Seziah? Is the climate hurting you, did you eat something to unsettle you?" His forehead furrowed as he moved forward with a frown and touched her forehead with his hand, "You don't feel too warm...so I guess it's not a fever. Still that doesn't mean it's not anything serious so we will leave right away to get you checked out." He stood and straightened his attire, "Ready?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 05, 2017 9:04 am

Seziah Post 6

“N-no, I do not think-” Seziah hedged away uncertainly as Tytus moved to graze his hand over her forehead, but in the end, she supposed it didn’t matter if he gleaned whatever information he could from the contact or not. She stilled and clenched her hands in her lap. “I suppose it is possible that I have taken ill, but I admit that it is only very infrequently that I am sick, and if the food and climate have not had such an effect yet, it would be strange for it to start so suddenly…” Because her queasiness had come on quite suddenly, without the sort of warning sniffles, heat, and aches that would come before most sicknesses…

Her eyes widened ever so marginally as he stood, and Seziah craned her head back to blink up at him in shock. “Now?” She prompted softly. “You want to- Is it really best if we leave immediately? I don’t want to be burdensome on the estate or any healer that I do not have an appointment with, and I do not believe it so serious that it couldn’t wait until…”

Until when, exactly? She’d never made an appointment for anything herself before, but they’d always sounded like they had great potential to make a person wait for weeks on end before seeing anyone.

If she learned with certainty what could lay in her future now... Though there was still the matter that Tytus seemed intent on going with her, and if he did, then there would be no hiding the knowledge from him until she was prepared to give it because he would know in the same instant she did… Seziah shivered. It was better to do it now, she reasoned. Better for her and Tytus to learn what may come.

She nodded, grasped his hand, and rose to her feet. “Yes, I am ready now.”

Tytus Post 7

Tytus stilled even more as Seziah started to suggest how strange it was for her to become ill in such a manner. His gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he studied the woman before him. Did Yaeli suffer from different symptoms than Obans? It was a strange thought, but an honest point since the man wasn't quite certain of the peculiarities that any Yaeli could exhibit in comparison to his own race. After all the Yaeli already had their unique gaze that was luminescent for only a brief time away from their homelands before becoming so insubstantial that one was inclined to believe that they had made up the image. If he hadn't met Seziah as early as he had then Tytus would have continued to think such a story unfathomable. How could one have glowing eyes after all? Could they even see beyond that glow? Yet he had greeted and allowed a woman with those very unbelievable eyes into his home. Not that there was anything disturbing about it for Tytus, rather he found them fascinating and delightful for while they lasted.

But what other comeuppances were there for the Yaelis who left home? What if sickness was another consequence of coming to a foreign land? Tytus couldn't help his growing apprehension about the situation because he truly didn't know what to think. Could he even trust a healer to be of assistance when healers surely hadn't seen to many Yaeli yet? Even though it had been a few years since the island had been discovered the mysteriousness of the superstitious people had made it hard to truly swap studies with one another. Stop. Tytus had to for once actually force his mind to still so that he could take a breath and refocus on the situation at hand, "Yes it is best." He replied with a faint smile, "Healers are surely accustomed to visitors at all hours of the day and I can speak to Yu later about how your health ailing you. Despite my looks and my occupation of choice I do tend to have more say around the estate than I let on so don't worry."

He was grateful that she had decided to take his hand. As he clasped her fingers in his the man opened the door and began to lead the way down the hallway. As they emerged into the brilliance of day Tytus had to close his eyes briefly before continuing on, "We will leave by a side gate and head towards a deeper part of the city so please be careful and keep hold of my hand. It's easy to get lost in the crowd on a busy day after all."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 05, 2017 9:06 am

Seziah Post 7

Seziah dipped her head acquiescently, but kept her gaze pinned on Tytus’ face from beneath her lashes for what was likely the most lengthy amount of time she’d ever dared look to anyone else’s expression before. It was imperative that she try and do everything in her power to fully understand what he might be thinking and why and how it might affect her. Though she supposed there was nothing she could do about it either way. Her friend did look a bit concerned, as far as Seziah could tell. Though there was no knowing for sure if it was concern for her safety and comfort, or perhaps whether if she was ill if the sickness could be contagious, or maybe he was worried about needing to tell Yu that one of the family’s servants may not be as useful as he’d initially hoped.

She didn’t know, but she supposed it didn’t matter.

They stepped outside, and Seziah clasped more firmly to his fingers as instructed. It was morning such that the city bustle Tytus spoke of was in a lively buzz of waking activity. She’d never been fond of great commotions and accostment, and with Tytus guiding her, Seziah found it easier to simply tuck her head and trail after his steps, rather than pay mind to what was going on around her. She curled her fingers anxiously in the fabric of her skirt and wondered exactly how much of the rest of the day would be so uncomfortable as this start had been…

For the first time, she also considered that she might more appreciate the practices of someone in Yael. Seziah knew a healer of her homeland. She trusted Diavel, and he’d already dealt with this state of her before. He knew Yaeli biology and would surely have a better understanding of how to proceed than any Oban could manage…

Though her pregnancy under his care hadn’t gone as she might’ve hoped. She didn’t blame him, of course, but at least there were no worse alternatives than what had happened last time. If she lost another, that would be the worst outcome, and one she had already faced before.

“Wait.” As they arrived at a shop front emblazoned with simple lettering of the word ‘clinic,’ Seziah tugged back where she gripped Tytus’ hand and reached with her other to steady his arm. She glanced to the doorway, then back to her closest friend. She knew rationally that it shouldn’t matter whether or not it came from her or someone else, but in that moment, it did seem like she should offer some idea as to what he was getting into, and dash his concerns that she might be sick, before they even entered. She swallowed and stared at the shop as she spoke. “I do not think I am ill. These feelings are ones I have had before. I think… I think I may be in the very early stages of pregnancy. I wanted you to know my thoughts before someone else could say anything… Okay.” She moved forward again with a nod. “Let us go inside.”

Tytus Post 8

Tytus made certain to accommodate for Seziah as they navigated the crowd. If someone pressed too close then the Oban shifted so that he could protect the Yaeli with his own body. If she was ill he was determined to shelter her the best that he could from anymore possible sickness or pains caused by a crowd. It was only a few more feet, just a bit more...

Ah, there it was. The building loomed before them with its sign serving as a beacon to the sick. Tytus was prepared to enter the awaiting structure when a sudden tug caused the man to still, "What is it, Seziah?" His gaze flickered towards her own with confusion. Why would she stop him when they were already at their destination? Now she even thought to protest against being I'll? Was this some scheme to get a day away from the manor and to spend time with him? Not that he would be offended at all by such an act. Tytus found his thoughts getting carried away with all the possibilities before Seziah's confession forced them to a screeching halt.

"Early stages of preg...nancy." Pregnancy? Pregnancy. The thing with the babies that occurred with women and the babies then coming out and belonging to a couple and then being children which meant a family that consisted of babies conceived and then brought forth by pregnancy...that pregnancy?! Just as his thoughts tried to comprehend the situation Tytus found himself completely bewildered by the revelation. Despite his best intentions the man couldn't help from staring at her incredulously, "You're pregnant?" He repeated the foreign word that made his tongue feel fuzzy and his stomach tight.

Already he had halted in his tracks at the sudden reveal as his mind continued to try and assess Seziah's statement. What did this mean for them? Just the word pregnancy was plenty enough on its own to concern Tytus but as fragments of understanding and all the recent memories aligned the Oban became even more apprehensive. Surely it couldn't be - it just wasn't feasible that their one day together alone could have resulted in this? But Zakeel hadn't touched her, right? Tytus studied Seziah his gaze intent on finding some truth in her expression. She wasn't the type to lie and he was certain she would have mentioned Zakeel before this. So was...this his fault? What did they even do if she was truly pregnant? Did he run? What would she do?

But why would he falter now in her time of need? He had always been solicitous about Seziah's well being so why stop now? Tytus took a deep breath as reason fortified his resolve and steadied him, "Well I suppose the healer will confirm it." His words were softly spoken but surprisingly calm, "Let's go, I have the feeling we'll be talking for a long time after this visit." Because if this was true then Tytus knew his whole life was surely about to change.
