A river that floes on the outskirts of Mistral. The sounds of the water are calming in this time of peril, though dont relax to much. Amphibious grim have been known to kill the unprepared.

Innes was back at the shelter within minutes. The other volunteers were a bit surprised to see him but they understood the urgency, they’d heard the howls too.
The blonde thoughtlessly ran off where he thought one of the sounds had come from. Some of the others wanted to join him but few of them were huntsmen and those that were worried about leaving the shelter unprotected.

It took Innes some time to reach the river. There had actually been no signs of any grimm which in some ways worried him more than if there had been. He could hear the river by the time he was about to give up. He thought it might be possible that whatever had made that sound had retreated or headed to a different location but a sudden snarl caught his attention.
He drew his bow and moved slowly through the trees towards the source of the sound. He tentatively rounded a tree and saw a dark, canine-like figure, radiating with a sickly green glow. He didn’t recognize the creature immediately but at the same time, and for some inexplicable reason, he felt like he knew how the creature might react when it noticed him.
The blonde too in a silent, deep breath and did his best to quietly draw two arrows. He notched one and drew back as he mentally prepared himself. He had a plan, from what little he seemed to know, but he couldn’t say if it would work or not. There was good spacing…he’d survive, he’d, he’d survive, he had to survive.

Innes silently moved out from behind the three and fired an arrow at the creature’s center of mass, quickly notching the next and drawing a bead for his next shot. He wasn’t really sure he’d be able to get it off though. There was a good fifty feet between them but that might not be nearly enough.

As it scoured the river area, its search was soon broken, feeling the disturbance in the air as well as hearing the sound accompanying it, the Hyena leaped across the river and then zigzagged back to where it was. A snarl that was followed by a devilish cackle like hiss filled the air as the grim was on full alert.

A lot happened. A lot went on. He could of sworn he was holding goat a** and running from grim, but now he was in a position where he was following this goat faunus. He still felt as if his back was burned and singed. Whatever happened, he wasn't about to be bothered by it now. Making his way, following the goat faunus, he wold come across to some weird new area. He didn't know much about this place so people have to forgive him for his ignorance. Making it there, he would look around before hearing the devilish cackle like hiss of the grim. "I guess this is the right place Reseda? Yeah that's what it was. So what do we do about this situation?" he questioned. He still didn't have his aura, he would have be more careful sadly. He wouldn't attack. He would hang back and let Reseda have fun. He did keep his daggers in gun form though. "I see you having fun there?" he questioned Innes. Anyone could tell, he probably wasn't having fun.

✾ Reseda ✾ Oak ✾

So, she had been aware of his name, this just made everything a bit more of a mess, however he wasn’t asking about it so neither would she. There were more important things to worry about like the glow light of a green by the river. Reseda wasn’t sure what the green stuff was but it did not appear to be safe. If there was one thing her parents had always taught her about survival was sometimes the brightest animals and plants were the most dangerous. The only thing either of them could do was keep their eyes on the grimm and see what it was capable of.

It was fortunate they arrived when they did, another young huntsman was also in the area and perhaps he would have managed on his own, but safety was always best in numbers. Unsure of who the boy (Innes) was or his abilities she spoke mostly to Hades, not that she knew his strengths either. She wasn’t sure if Innes would hear her but if he didn’t then perhaps he’d pick up on it over time. ”I have a favour to ask, can you protect my back Hades,” Reseda questioned as her blades turned into a type of instrument, something akin to two flutes in one. ”I’m going to focus more on support for now. Also I may not be able to talk much but I will be able to hear you.” With all that said Reseda placed the mouthpiece gently to her lips and after a deep inhale began to play.

Eyes focused on the target as well as the two helping to fight her, her fingers moved across the two tubes playing a tune, but she wasn’t just some bard to play a battel soundtrack. There was a whole lot Reseda was doing with her weapon that Innes and Hades would not realize until a while later. This wasn’t a grimm she had ever fought before, she knew nothing of its weaknesses nor its strengths, and although she preferred to keep her semblance a secret for as long as possible she wasn’t hesitant on using it. There were ways she could have her semblance be in the working without anyone really knowing she had done anything. Until her semblance could take its hold though, she had to rely on Hades and Innes to hold it back from her, though she would try to aid as best as she could with the task.

The music to Hades and Innes would perhaps come off a bit loud, but it was intentional. She was playing in high frequencies and fortunately for the human ear it could not be picked up after a certain value, however the same was not true with grimm. Although grimm were not animals, their senses worked differently than those of humans and perhaps even animals, or so was her experience with certain grimm. As her tune echoed in the air the young goat faunus wold play around with different sound frequencies to find the one that would cause the Hyena pain, annoyance or any other reaction that could give an opening.

Well….s**t. The grimm was alerted to his presence and all he could do was stare it down. His plan wouldn’t work until the thing moved though.
Innes heard movement from nearby and quickly looked away to see it was fortunately more humans. Though…he knew he’d never seen them before but for some reason he knew they were backup. The male of the two addressed Innes who wasn’t really in the mood for banter at the moment.

”No. I have no idea what this thing is so I don’t know how intelligent it is…I also don’t know how intelligent I am now that I went after it alone. If you two have a plan I’d love to hear it.” He kept his eyes glued to the grimm.

Now the girl was saying something but she was a ways off and Inness could only make out part of it. ”What’s she doing?” He clearly wasn’t going to be the first to move here. He knew the grimm could move faster than he could shoot so he wasn’t going to just waste the arrow. He still had a plan…sort of.

”If she needs time I might be able to help. We need it to rush me though…” Despite the determined and serious look on his face as he stood there with a notched arrow, he didn’t sound at all confident in his plan.

As he watched its surrounding something began to annoy it. It was subtle, but then grew in octave. What an irritating sound that was. Stunned by irritation the it howled, trying to get its barrings and wits about itself. To remedy the pain of the noise, it jumped into the air {30ft or so} and coiled into a ball. Spinning rapidly on top of using its natural speed, it went to slam into the direction the projectile had been fired from. It tore through trees like wet paper, the residual flaming acid melting the split trees. Landing several yards away, it maintained the rapid spinning ball of flaming acid, zig zaging in place as it revved up for another pass.

"Protect your back? " at first he truly didn't understand. Looking as her weapon changed into a flute, he surely didn't understand. However, he put together that she was going to be playing it but what would it do against the Grim? He didn't know, but he had to trust her. No reason not too. No reason to trust her either besides fact they all were facing a grim now. Looking at Innes, he would nod. "Yup she needs time indeed. We just gotta give it to her." he explained to Innes. Watching as he would prepare himself, it seemed that the grim was heading for Innes. Well, that seems fun. Taking his guns, he would act as a defender between the grim and Reseda. He didn't know how long she needed, but hopefully it wasn't too long. Now, was he going to help Innes that had a raging hyena coming for him. Probably. But at same time, Innes needs to move too. With his guns, the dust vials would soon be loaded into the corresponding chambers. He would wait for the Hyena to land. Once it landed, he would shoot several fire rounds at the acid create. Maybe fire could do something to the acid creature and make it explode with a lucky hit? Well, one could dream.

✾ Reseda ✾ Oak ✾

It was surprising how trusting the two of them were being with her. None of them knew one another, let alone what exactly she was plotting to do. Was this what it meant to truly be a huntsman? To set aside your own pride to observe, work and aid another? It had been a while since she had left her village and consequently “hunted” in a group. This sensation was refreshing and only made her want to try even harder. None of them were going to die today. Sure, this grimm was fast but, as she soon was able to observe, her sound could indeed irritate it. Just one more card to put into her hand.

Although her attempt was successful it did not last for too long as the grimm showed that it was also capable of some intelligence, by leaping into the air to reduce the effects. Reseda was sure it could still hear her, but the distance would consequently lower the strength of the frequency she was going for. It mattered not. Her semblance was still in the works and all she needed was a little longer for it to take hold. Part of her wondered if any of the two had noticed the Hyena’s actions before leaping and if they would associate her as the cause.

If Reseda had to be honest about her current feelings watching the grimm roll towards Innes, it would be relief. Relief that he was being attacked rather than her. She did feel bad about thinking such a thing, but she knew she was a bit more vulnerable in this state, especially with her putting most of her focus on getting her semblance to take some hold over this Hyena. She did pray that Innes would manage to protect himself. Whatever that green stuff was, with how it affected everything around it, did not look like something that would be fun to touch.

Watching the two boys as her tune continued, she saw Hades finally make a move loading up his gun with various red dust vials, fire. Thinking quickly on her feet, a chamber in her flute twisted to one of the wind vials inside. At her command, aside from her melody which still echoed in the air, gusts of wind blasted out of the weapons pipes following Hades bullets the moment he fired. Having seen how fast the creature was Reseda figured she could help his bullets reach the target even faster with a boost of wind. Not only that, but assuming she didn’t over do it, the wind would also fuel the fire to cause even greater damage. Only time would tell if this work succeeded as a combo.

Once the wind exited her weapon she was left resuming what she had been working on since the beginning. The Hyena, currently acting like a hedgehog on steroids, seemed to be readying itself for another move. Reseda wasn’t going to let it. Its distance was much closer than when it had leapt into the air and with all the vigour she could muster sent continuous series of the frequencies from before in her tune, along with all the energy left needed for her semblance to be complete. Even if she did not have the power to control this grimm she knew she could stun it long enough for them to really lash out a combo attack. The goat faunus was also hoping that this new attack of sound frequencies would aid in keeping it stunned. She couldn’t rely just on her semblance, not with her skill being the level it currently was. Her semblance effect would only last so long, along with her energy. She knew she could stay standing a bit longer, but she didn’t think she would have the aura to activate her semblance on it again.

OOC: I asked Teddy and he confirmed my suspicion that since this was the second post necessary for her semblance activation that the effects will take place (hopefully... and it betta!) at the end of your next post.
Though the semblance is just one of the methods she is trying to stun it with anyways ;p

Semblence rank info:
D Rank - At this level Reseda can only completely influence (control) the lowest ranking grimms, and slightly affect (dazz etc) the next tier of grimm. This takes 2 posts to go into effect and lasts 2 posts.

The other two weren’t saying much but that was probably a good sign. Talking while fighting meant you were nervous. Not that Innes’ had much time to think about it. The grimm in front of them decided to retaliate for the first arrow finally.
The other male gave a confirmation to Innes’ question just before the canine started to attack. It looked annoyed by something for a moment which certainly hadn’t been Innes’ doing. Maybe it was whatever the girl was doing.

Innes watched the thing leap into the air and start spinning. Whatever that green crap was it was flying all over the place and causing a significant amount of destruction. That made Innes rethink his plan but he knew he wasn’t fast enough to evade well. Luckily, he heard someone fire off a few shots. Hopefully that’d help…

Innes quickly dropped the notched arrow and knelt down to reduce his height. He closed his eyes as a clear, orange barrier sprung up in front of him. It was a sort of angled shield, almost like half of a small tent. He’d dropped down so he wouldn’t have to make it so tall but seeing what happened to the trees he had to make some modifications. Obviously, the shield extended over his head so he hopefully wouldn’t be hit from the thing rushing him. He did however have to increase the thickness of the barrier. It extended out a good foot and a half and as the creature neared a good number of spikes and blades would extend out from the front of the barrier.
The creature had leapt into the air and started spinning. Innes could only hope that this meant it couldn’t change its trajectory since its energy ought to have been spent on the movement and spinning alone. If this worked, the thing would impale itself on his shield.

The second problem however was that just creating this shield was exhausting. The increased density almost made up for the lack of height and moreover he wasn’t sure what would happen once that green crap made contact. He didn’t know how it would interact with his construct but he was already bracing himself to feed it as much aura as need be to protect himself. If this didn’t work then whatever the other two were doing would have to make up for his mistake…assuming he lived long enough to regret it.

[since this is a reactive post I'm not gonna speculate on what might happen after the grimm passes by Innes, I'll just address whatever happens next in the next post]

____I am an Aura class huntress. ______They rate me at B rank.
______I fight with team . _____My status is.. on alert.
___I am at.. Syton River.____Currently I'm in the company of.. a couple parties of hunters.

___ Nox lead the way towards the river that the blonde girl had told her to head to. Finding it was easy enough. She stepped up to the water's edge and looked both ways. Up river or down river? Where did that last howl they had heard come from. She frowned as she thought about it and got her bearings after running through the streets of Mistral to get this far. It took a couple of seconds for her to settle on the right course. She looked back at her companions and gestured for them to follow before she took off running once more. Their course now following the bank of the river upstream.

___ As they moved along the waters edge Nox's ears picked up on the sound of music. Given the others appeared to be human she bet they couldn't hear it. It was played at a higher pitch than what one would typically expect of music as well. Getting closer to the source she was able to hear the sounds of fighting too. "We're getting close. Get ready to fight." She stated without looking back at the others. The river was curving up ahead so she couldn't see anything just yet but they were close. Not long after clearing the turn Nox slowed to a stop. Target in sight. That was definitely not any kind of grimm she had seen before. It was hard to tell what exactly it was though given it was spinning around and smashing into trees and just about everything else as it attacked. Even though she couldn't see what it looked like very well all balled up like that she knew she had never seen a grimm that fights like that either, so it had to be something new. It was fast as well and it seemed to be spraying green fire all around it. Her pupils narrowed so she could focus on looking at the fire. What it touched wilted, charred and burned away but it didn't do so like one would expect from being exposed to fire. It was more destructive than that and it was rather clear the fire appearance was coming off of globs of some kind of goo. 'Bleh. That's just nasty. She turned her head to look back at the others. "Spread out a little but stay close enough to support each other."

___ Her pupils returned to a more round look as she heard gunfire. She didn't really need to look away from the grimm to find the source as the creature rolled straight after one person while another took shots at it. Behind those two was the goat faunus girl. She was the one responsible for the music she was hearing. At the moment the others didn't look like they desperately needed any outside intervention and it would be reckless to just join in out of the blue. Especially with them all behind the would be target. Nox drew her weapon and quickly changed it into staff mode but other than getting herself ready to fight she didn't make any more to join in. Instead using her free left hand to place two fingers into her mouth so she could let out a loud whistle. The whistle having two purposes. The first one being to let the other hunter party know that reinforcements had arrived and were ready to help. The second to hopefully distract the grimm from prosecuting it's attack on the others. If that happened it could help them score hits or give another chance to get more hits in. Plus if the grimm decided to turn for them because of the whistle Nox's group had the advantage of positioning. Coming for them would put the grimm into a place where it is completely flanked and nearly fully surrounded.

Though it would cackle it was far from laxed in this situation. As a spinning ball of toxic destruction, the Hyena went forward, zooming for the tanner{Hades} one first. The as it came around for another pass it would release more sludge to increase its size 2x the normal. It also became thinner, like disc. Revved up and ready to go it charged forth going after the archer{Innes}, carving a destructive path as it went. Once going after Innes, it set its assault on the one making the music. Blasting towards the livestock{Reseda}, it never made it. Mid run, it stopped, sending toxic sludge several feet forward and behind it. It began to yelp and howl as if annoyed by something. It would move irrationally, twitching as it normally did, but much worse.

Holding his blade firmly the brown haired male would follow his newfound comrade Nox quietly, without making any comments about the situation unless he was spoken to first. Funnily enough he didnt notice the fact that she was a Faunus, he had seen so many that it was pretty common and nothing new for him. She was just another person he had met, someone way stronger and cooler than him, but another person. He had heard the orders coming from that blonde, when did she start yelling? It was almost as if she had done this a few minutes ago but he couldnt entirely recall it. 'The River? I saw some others heading there earlier, perhaps they do need some help...We need to hurry if that is the case.' Ethan quickly shifted his weapon into its Rifle Mode, and looked to Lieh, wondering if she would be willing to follow them as well. He was unsure, she had been silent for a while, as if sleeping.

Once they arrived there Ethan quickly took notice of the way the nature was being destroyed, green globs were melting it and his stomach turned. Immediately this Grim had become his enemy, more so than before at the very least. His hand tightened onto his Rifle, and he took aim before nodding to Nox and moving to the side so that he wasn't too close but wasnt too far from the others. It didnt seem like the group needed too much help though, hopefully the brown haired male would be capable of being useful during this. He looked to the four that was doing battle with the creature right now, one of them was maintaining a barrier to keep himself safe. Perhaps that was his semblance? Actually, was another of that group trying to use theirs as well? He couldnt really tell, but it was obvious that they 'Had the Situation Under Control' for the most part at least. If he saw a opening, then the brown haired male would open fire. But as things stood, it seemed that might be counter productive. Hopefully, if he did fire it would be at just the right time.

Right about when he thought of that, he looked to Nox. It seemed to be acting as if it was on its last legs, it had split itself into sludge or was shooting it from its body making itself thinner. Could it reattach that stuff? Biting his lip, he watched as it started to twitch. Was this the time to strike? Or would the other team be angry with him for swooping in at the end of the Battle. After a moment, he came up with a good decision. If the others attacked, or it looked like it was needed. So would he. " Do you think we should head to another area since they seem to have this handled?" He really didnt wanna step on any toes.

Fear, terror, mortality... These Hyena's were over stepping their bounds but no matter. The nevermore looked upon the little creature. Struggling, it was as the bird looked on. Unacceptable. Little kids were putting the monster through a tough time. No matter, it will end. Before it could head into action, the grim would fly down and swipe the hyena in mid air, chomping it into its stomach. Gladly too, who knows what would happen if the Hyena touched the shield of Innes. Either way, the grim would fly back around, the leg of the hyena dissipating as it hung from its mouth. Looking, it was their only warning. LEAVE. Or suffer the consequences. .
