An old church you are familiar with and have seen many times has recently been closed due to fire damage. The area has been deemed too dangerous for anyone to enter, and yet you notice a strange gargoyle perched on the roof. It is large and imposing and you know it’s never been there before. If you try to climb up the building or if you leave the area and return, the gargoyle will have disappeared. You never see it move, but you know you saw it. Giant stone sculptures don’t just up and fly away…right? Whatever it is you saw, it’s gone now, but you might want to keep your eyes on the rooftops and pay attention when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Of late, Oracle had been plagued by a vague sense of restlessness. Of unease. Troubled by nameless, formless fears. Plagued by the sense that everything just felt wrong. Not that this feeling was for him. No he could handle himself, if that was all that it was. His entire existence - barring his connection to his girl - seemed to be centered around things not being right for or about him. His concern right now was for Sinead. His girl. His charge. His... everything. Currently, his restlessness, his fears, his unease seemed to be centered around her. Not her, herself, but rather events surrounding her.
He shook his head. He was starting to confuse himself with these thoughts and wonderings. There was something not quite right. This was the most important fact, and the one he was most sure of. But what he didn't know was if this nebulous 'something' was a physical threat, something he could actually do something about, if it was something he could protect his people from. Or if it was something else ... other. Something he had no way to do anything for or about. How could he protect them from something he had no information about, merely his own unease?
