it wasn't often that the senshi of vampires was out on her own, at least not since meeting Kallichore, but tonight she had slipped out of her home deciding to go for a walk on her own. She'd heard of some very odd, and interesting, happenings at the cities local graveyards. People spotting their own names and the currant date on it as the date of death. She'd heard whispers of it from people she knew plus social media, things spread via social media rather quickly. It was worth checking out, just to see if it was real, so far none of the people were reported dead...at least not to her knowledge.

That was what brought the senshi of vampires to one of the smaller, more off the beaten path, graveyards int he city. She didn't go for a bigger one where there might be people about trying the same thing she planned. She didn't want to be spotted by civilians. She was not looking for people to break out the torches and try and kill her, or just call the cops on her, she was looking to see if anything sinister was going on or would happen to her.

Moving through the graveyard she finally stopped, rather at random, and indeed the headstone she looked at had her name on it...and tonights date on it as her date of death. "So it's true..."

It had started as something Rayna had no reason to believe as being true but as more and more stories cropped up the teen was beginning to suspect that maybe something was going on in the graveyards of Destiny City: something paranormal. If there was one thing that the teen couldn't resist it was learning of paranormal occurrences over her city. Taking a bag with her newest camera and tape recorder for normal investigation work Rayna paused a moment before throwing her henshin pen into the bottom of the bag as well. Considering the location there was always a chance that something would attack. Not having one's source of power on hand could have been a fatal mistake. As it was just approaching dusk and so her parents reminded her a she walked out the door that she was expected home at a reasonable time.

Grabbing her bike Rayna snapped on her helmet and rode steadily to the graveyard she had chosen to check out first. It was more out of the way than others but it would seem weird to be seen skulking around looking for all the world, like a grave robber. Reviewing the stories in her mind all had a common denominator: those that reported seeing their names on headstones also reported that if they left and then came back, claw marks would have scratched out the writing.

Reaching her destination and deciding to go in prepared Rayna grabbed her henshin pen and transformed into Myrrha, Super Senshi of Scents before deciding to not bother with going through a gate. Instead Myrrha jumped the fence and began trekking through the graveyard before pausing as a familiar feeling washed over her. She was not the only order aura in this graveyard tonight.

Nephthys was still standing there, staring at what was her gravestone, when she felt another aura come into the area. They were, thankfully, not of chaos but of order. Not only that but it seemed they were of equal power level as well. It was good, in her opinion, as it meant that if anything were to happen she at least had backup now.

Not wanting to turn away from what she'd seen, incase it somehow vanished, the super senshi called out into the darkness. "It's safe. I'm here investigating." Which she assumed they were as well, why else wander a graveyard around this time of year in this city? Last year had not been a safe year and considering the spider webs and other happenings this year...going to a graveyard for no purpose was just crazy.

"You can come and join me." She added after a moment, pausing now to see if the other senshi would respond or what they would do. It was an open invitation - it didn't need to be accepted.

Hearing what could only be described as words of welcome helped alleviate the strangeness this night. As Myrrha strolled towards the location that the other order aura was coming from and paused momentarily as the strangest feeling washed over her. Knowing that investigating the feeling could possibly wait she instead continued forward as if nothing had bothered her, yet. Taking out her camera she snapped a few pictures of her surroundings. Just because she was here for another reason did not mean she couldn't do a small paranormal investigation at the same time.

Knowing that not everyone was comfortable with the idea of paranormal activity though as soon as she came into sight of the other senshi Myrrha slipped her camera back into her bag and instead joined a fellow warrior. Noting the other's gaze was locked on the headstone in front of them Myrrha decided to go for broke and pointed to the marker. The writing on it was in-legible to her but with the way her fellow senshi was gazing at it Myrrha couldn't help but ask, "Yours I take it?"

Reaching back into her bag Myrrha brought out a bottle of water unscrewed the cap before taking a small sip. Graveyards didn't really faze her that much but still this was the first time she had run into someone else who was checking out a rumor at the same time. It was sort of disappointing that Myrrha hadn't found her own gravestone yet but she did wonder about that sensation she'd experienced on the walk that brought her here. Maybe that was some sort of indication. Who really knew?

"Yeah....it seems this part of the rumor is true." She answered before turning her gaze onto the other. "I wonder about the rest of it...and the other rumors going on about the city over other things. The holidays haven't been safe for a while now..." Like last year around this time and last winter. She almost wanted to keep her parents from coming home for Christmas and keep the rest of her family out of the city, for their own safety. She didn't like the idea of her family being here, in Destiny City, and yet she loved her parents and missed them when they weren't home and they were out of town or were working late at the office.

"Anyway, I'm Nephthys - senshi of vampires." Something which was fitting, she supposed, for this time of year. And with her uniform she looked the part...though too light and certainly not a corrupted or dark mirror senshi as one might expect of a senshi with her sphere.

"It's nice to see another senshi out checking on these rumors. I just...don't trust them and i want to make sure nothing is behind it." Nothing like the negaverse, or anything else though what else she wasn't sure. She really just wanted to make sure the people of the city would be safe.

"Have you seen a tombstone with your name yet?"

I am so sorry I forgot about this and lost it!

Myrrha took in the headstone marker and still couldn't really make out any writing but if her fellow senshi said it was hers, who was she to doubt it. Taking another sip from her water bottle the teen capped the bottle and took in the other senshi's attire. She had to grin at the other girl's sphere. Well, that was certainly fitting. Nephthys probably had no idea she was talking with someone who found the paranormal to be extremely fascinating. Vampires just happened to fit right into the category. Myrrha was curious about what such a sphere could do in the sense of powers but she would not ask, not this night. Breaking out of her silent musing Myrrha slung her bag onto her back and held out a free hand. "I'm Myrrha, the senshi of scents. Well I guess super senshi now," she paused momentarily, "I'm still getting used to the fact that I've been, I guess, upgraded is the term."

At hearing Nephthys's last question Myrrha shook her head. She had been curious to know if there was a gravestone marker with her name on it somewhere here. "I haven't located one yet but before I ran across you I experienced that sensation of someone 'walking over your grave,' maybe that is an indicator."

Momentarily Myrrha glanced back in the direction from where she had came and wondered if one of those markers that stood as silent sentinels bore her name or not.

"It does take some getting used to, the weirdness that happens now every season, around this city."

"it's nice to meet you Myrrha." Senshi of scents...she could see that magic being really interesting, in a stinky sort of way. But the other senshi certainly looked nice, her uniform was pretty, so it was deceptive if that was what the others magic did in fact do. "Yeah, super like myself. But don't worry just introducing yourself as Myrrha is good." It would be far too long to add in that super part, even using senshi was a bit long. "It takes a bit of time to get used to but you'll get used to it - don't worry. You should try out your magic and see what it does now though."

Nodding her head she motioned the other toward the gravestones. "Why not check the ones you were near when you felt that feeling. I'll go with you. Though it seems it's just a feeling and the name..." Nothing had jumped out and attacked her or anything...yet. She really hoped nothing jumped her and tried to kill her, she really did. she might be a super senshi but still her magic only did so much.

Myrrha glanced at Nephthys when the other senshi indicated she should try out her new magic. Slowly the words trickled into clarity in what needed to be said but there was the fact that both of them were on the same side and her earlier magic only seemed to work on enemies. At least that is how it appeared to be. "I don't think the magic would work right now as there's no one here that I would classify as an enemy. But if I were to venture a guess it would probably work like my basic attack and that seems to awaken someone's sense of smell, like puts it into overdrive."

As Nephthys made the suggestion about checking out the headstones that she had been near when she had experienced that sensation she nodded slowly. Her camera came back out though from her bag and she brought the device to her eyes to check the focus before fiddling with a dial on the side. She wasn't sure what she'd find as she neared the grouping of silent sentinels, standing watch over the various burial plots but she wanted to be ready. The other tools of the paranormal investigation trade remained tucked away for now. What would she see? What might she not see? Was her name written on one of these stone markers?

The senshi of vampires let the other lead the way, since she knew where she'd felt that sensation, so it was best the other lead on this. "Your magic seems interesting, mine drains other peoples energy." Which fit in somewhat with her sphere, more so if someone saw the magic and what appearence it took on. While trailing the other she couldn't help but idly wonder how a boost in the sense of smell would help in a battle, and she couldn't figure it. She wouldn't ask though, now wasn't the right place or time to ask, but she would rather think on it later in her free time.

It seemed to her that the spehres that senshi had were so varried, so unexpected, and the magic didn't seem useable in a battle but there had to be a way for it to work - right? Otherwise why did they have that sphere. Shaking herself from her thoughts the senshi of vampires continued behind the other.

"Are we close?"
PostPosted: Thu Jun 15, 2023 2:39 pm

There was one moment in the silence after Nephthys asked if they were close that Myrrha had once again experienced a sensation that she couldn't identify. It felt almost like someone had trailed fingernails down her back and it was something that she'd never really felt during her other investigations. Realizing that this was something that she had never encountered before had her lowering her voice to respond to the senshi of vampires. There was a tinge of worry in her words before she attempted to squash them down, "I think so. I'm experiencing the same sensation as before but also ... more. It almost feels as if something is watching me from the direction those headstones are in and then also feeling phantom sensations down my back."

If that didn't scream 'paranormal' to Myrrha than she wasn't sure what would. Slowly she moved forward to check the information on the nearest headstone before shaking her head. As she moved over to inspect the next one the teen shivered as a frisson of fear settled over her ... still nothing. As she moved to the middle of the grouping of headstones did her senses scream at her to turn around and run away and resisting that urge did the senshi of scents look down to find a familiar name written upon the granite marker. Sure enough, her name and her date of birth followed by the date it now was ... was present and she briskly rubbed at her arms before backing away.

Raising her camera to snap a few photos Myrrha quickly backtracked to Nephthys's side before still feeling the sensation of being watched. "When you were looking at your own headstone, did you feel like you were in any danger?"

It could be because Myrrha was into everything paranormal that maybe she was picking up on something extra ... but suppressing the instincts that were clamouring at her to turn tail and run was getting harder, "I think ... that maybe something is trying to get us out of here for our own good."

"That doesn't sound good, not pleasent either." And really she hadn't felt like that but perhaps part of it was in the others mind? Something they were making up because of what was going on? It had been intensified from what it would have normally been. Suggesting it, in a whisper, to the other the dark haired senshi kept her voice low as she stood close to the other. Blue eyes kept a look out incase anytghing turned up, incase anything decided to try and attack them. Reports hadn't spoken of such but one couldn't be too sure - right?

"Yes, but I didn't feel like I was being watched. I think you're feeling more than I did. I did feel very creeped out as well, but that might have honestly been normal to feel all thigns considered. But the feeling of something, like dread, was there and nerves." She had felt the knotting, sinking, feeling in her stomach the whole time really.

"Perhaps, it is that time of year and mayeb something is out there." Though she also wasn't so sure on it either. "Either way I doubt hanging around a graveyard is a good idea." She still wondered if the other wasn't making her feeling sowrse perhaps. Either way though leaving here would do them both some good.

Myrrha allowed herself to go through the motions of settling her camera away in her bag before shooting a rueful grin towards Nephthys. Her voice was quiet even as she glanced back to the gravestone that bore her name. It seemed surreal that at least to this part of whatever rumor was floating around just happened to be true, "Maybe I'm reading too much into what's going on tonight. Although with that being said, I do dabble into trying to suss out locations in town that are considered haunted. There's quite a few places worth looking into if you have the time and dedication."

Figuring that whatever paranormal event was going on behind the mystery of the gravestones Myrrha reached down into her bag and pulled out a couple of stones that she carefully placed on the markers around the headstone that bore her own name. Looking towards the other dark-haired senshi did Myrrha turn away from the cluster of gravestones before settling her bag into it's proper place. The stones would stay behind as a way to tell anyone else who came to visit that even though Myrrha personally didn't know the deceased ... that she had been kind enough to visit and mark the occasion. She didn't have enough rocks for all those that were buried in this particular cemetery but just marking the ones around the ill-fated marker that bore her name showed that she cared.

"I'm going to head back towards home. Nephthys, it was a pleasure to meet you. Take care of yourself and be careful."
