User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Khensu always liked coming to this coffee shop. It had wonderful natural light. The baristas were kind of amazing. They wanted to make sure everyone felt welcome, and they didn’t mind that khensu spent hours curled up in a chair reading. Well as long as it didn’t get overly busy.

However today, sitting in one of the armchairs, his mind was hardly in the book sitting in his lap. He kept thinking about the ball. They never did give each other their names, but spending it with that goblin had been more enjoyable then Khensu thought. He wasn’t social, he had gone there thinking to maybe get some familiars and to possibly work on making small talk with a stranger before having to go home to study for his midterms.

Well he had complimented a stranger and disappeared into the crowd, planning on never seeing the complimentee ever again, instead they had then found him and of all things he ended up dancing with them. The memory of soft delicate hands in his as they glided around everyone was still stuck in his head even now. Suffice to say he had stayed long past what he had planned. It was still with him nearly three weeks later.

User Image Lunette was wearing her hair up today and she was wearing sunglasses as she often did when she didn't want anyone to notice who she was, she wasn't too worried though the Asphodel Gardens Academy area had a more small town feel to her than the larger towns and cities that Lunette had gone to on tour. She didn't want that life anymore, she had more money then she needed and not enough time to follow her heart when she was on tour with fans who didn't know her at all. There were always people there to kiss up to her but that wasn't the same as a real friend or someone who would love her for who she was not what she did.

Lunette thought of the fallen she had danced with at the ball, they had complimented her without a clue she was a famous singer. They had danced and talked a little, then gone their separate ways. Lunette walked into the coffee shop and ordered a blueberry shot mocha espresso. She stood to wait for her order, then once it arrived she went to sit down in one of the chairs. She ended up sitting across from a fallen that looked strangely familiar. She considered asked them if they had been at the ball, but she didn't want to interrupt their books.

Feeling eyes on him, he ignored it briefly to try to finish this page. When he realized that he had read the same sentence for the fifth time, he sighed and lightly shook his head in disgust at himself before shutting the book. Considering reading was no longer an option, he flicked his gaze upward to see well the last person he expected sitting in the chair across from him.

Sure she wasn’t wearing a formal dress but with the sunglasses, Khensu instantly recognized her. It was the goblin he had danced with. Now what should he say? Well staring back at her definitely wasn’t going to get them anywhere but in the more awkward zone.

“You know you still look pretty as always” Khensu eventually smiled, using a spin on one of the compliments he had given that night. Sure she was wearing casual clothes, but to him beauty was more about personality than what the outside package showed. Ah manners. Needed to remember Manners “and its a pleasure to see you again”

Lunette blinked when she heard Khensu speaking did they know who she was and if they did in what respect did they know she was a pop star. Lunette felt a little panicked but she tried to remain calm as she said. "Umm well thank you?" She blushed a little her cheeks turning a darker purple. "I wasn't sure if you would remember me since we were both wearing masks that night." She said in a more confident. Lunette wasn't really a shy being, she just wanted to be loved and cared about for who she was, not for her job. She loved singing but being a pop star was just a job to her. One that weighed heavily on her heart some days.

“Well a gentleman always remembers a pretty lady, especially one he has danced with. Attempts of charm aside however I guess I just have a pretty good memory and it does help that you’re wearing sunglasses, works as another mask in a way” Khensu replied with a slight smile. “And as per last time, you are welcome.

She looked slightly troubled but Khensu wasn’t the type to pry. Prying just brought up unwanted tension. Tension that would hardly be appropriate he felt. Instead he bit the inside of his cheek as he warred with his next few words. “I’m Khensu by the way. I figure it’s safe to finally give my name”

Lunette smiled she liked their eloquent way of speaking it somehow made her feel more comfortable with the situation. She reached up and touched her sunglasses she had forgotten she was wearing them she took them off and put them in her pocket. "Yes you are right about that they really are a mask in a way, you are very clever." She said. She considered a moment on the nickname she had given others at the masquerade and her real name. She was a little nervous the look on beings faces often changed when they learned who she was and she didn't want Khensu to look at her differently. She didn't want their blooming friendship to start out with a lie though either. She took a deep breath and said. "I'm Lunette." She wasn't sure what she would do if Khensu wasn't familiar was pop music and didn't know her work, should she explain her job? Or let it go would that be a lie?

“Well studying to be a detective really, clever comes with the territory somewhat” Khensu lightly teased and took a quick sip of his own drink. He actually was somewhat familiar with pop music and had actually been nursing a suspicion that lunette had been the pop star, but at the dance the lighting had been in that romantic mystery setting so he wasn’t entirely sure he hadn’t been imagining things and when he had spotted her moments ago sitting across from him he realized it didn’t matter. It never had mattered. So he had dropped the suspicions.
Khensu wasn’t the type to go out and befriend people just because of their name. He didn’t care about some one’s fame what so ever, after all jerks could be famous as well. No he much rather preferred befriending a person for their personality and the way they behaved. Still he had seen the look of nervousness that had crossed her features so hopefully he could alievate it that he wasn't going to treat her any differently.
“Thank you” was the reply. It was soft and low but hopefully it would convey he did actually recognize her and was thanking her for well trusting him enough to start the friendship off honestly. “Although I have to admit, I am somewhat amused that both of our names mean Moon.”

Lunette smiled it seemed since he was a detective in training she couldn't get anything past him, he wasn't a fool so he must know who she was and what she did for a living and it didn't matter. That made Lunette really happy. She finally had made a friend who didn't care who she was. She laughed a little at the comment about both their names meaning moon. "Maybe that means we were meant to come together." She said in a light tone. Though she knew what she said might mean a lot or a little depending on who heard it. She was curious what Knensu's reaction would be. "Would you like to go out to dinner with me sometime?" She then asked suddenly.

“Well that’s definitely a positive way to think about it” Khensu pondered amusedly. It was kind of fun hanging out with Lunette, it was a thought he had started to entertain during the masquerade ball and it was now growing as they were spending time with each other. “It would be nice to know that certain people out there are supposed to meet.”
However he was briefly taken back at the question she asked, mostly because no one really ever asked him out to places. Oh it wasn’t like he didn’t have friends but…
“Uh dinner? Dinner would be nice. I would love to go to dinner” Khensu replied with another smile. Really he didn’t ever remember being this smiley but it was nice. He could definitely get used to it.

Lunette smiled "Dinner would be wonderful." She liked where they had started and she was looking forward to seeing where they would end up even if they turned out to only be friends she would be happy. More would be really nice though. She smiled and said "Alright then what day and time would you like to do dinner Friday at 7?" She suggested she was looking forward to dressing up in something cute and sitting down to eat with Khensu. She wanted to get to know him better and see if they might become a couple or something. Lunette was ready to connect with another being she felt lucky to have met one who actually saw her for who she was not the pop star she was on the side.

Khensu thought of his schedule. Sometimes Friday was a bit tricky but there weren’t any events he had to be at. Plus he was pretty sure if he told the guys why exactly he couldn’t do anything Friday, they would totally tease him but cover for him.

“Friday at Seven would be lovely.” He answered with a happy nod. For an event he hadn’t really thought anything of, it was strange what had happened. Not a bad strange though, Lunette was a lovely person to be around and he was actually looking forward to the dinner. Guess Haunted Hallows hadn’t been completely cursed after all.
