Prompt You hear a weird scuttling on your rooftop in the middle of the night but it doesn’t sound like any rodent or noise you can easily identify. Whatever it is sounds like it’s doing a lot of movement—and is sizeable enough to give you decent concern. Is it an animal? A robber? If you listen closely you can hear strange chattering and an odd whisper; it feels like eyes are watching you, but you can’t see anything. The noise doesn’t last for long; whatever is on your roof is moving—but, if you are brave enough to check outside you might be sorely disappointed to find that you can’t see anything but shadows. Either way, there’s something out there…and it’s not safe to stay out for long. Joseph was used to spooky noises and darkened buildings - it was a hazard of urban exploration, especially when you were trying to get into long-abandoned places with histories. He wasn't, however, used to creepy noises coming from on top of his own little rental place. Sure, his place wasn't in the best part of town, and it was pretty old and rundown, but it wasn't haunted. So if there was something on his roof, well... it was probably something a little worse than your usual spooks. Groaning as he rolled off of his couch - having fallen asleep on it after spending way too long working on his latest project-bike - he fumbled for the silly magic pen that let him transform, and Ausonia crept out of his own window to find out who or what was tap-dancing on his damn roof. And if it was a someone, he was going to have words with whoever it was. Chaos or order, you didn't stand around on someone's roof just for fun. If it was a youma... well. Youma just needed to be dusted so he could get some more sleep. .... Alright, maybe he wasn't as invested in this senshi business as his girlfriend was, but. Eh.

Kestrel DeLacey was walking home from her job cheerily, humming as she walked along the road with a relaxed gait, looking up to the sky as she considered putting musdic on, except... The noise. A scritchie scratch, a scuttling, whispery sound moving around nearby that made her hackles rise, and she was soon sneaking to snoop, one hand raised to summon her weapon as she ducked into a dark spot to power up rapidly. Cordoba didn't know what it was, but the page nodded faintly, trying to feel for a chaos aura, and soon looked for a perch, scowling. "Bloody damnit..."

There wasn't anything on the roof. At least, nothing that Ausonia could make out clearly. Noises and darkness, yes, but nothing that really counted as a target. He frowned, inspecting what he could, but... there didn't seem to be anything he could do, not yet. If there was something here, it was bouncing between his roof and others nearby, and he wasn't going to be able to catch it and deal with it alone. But - oh, there. Order aura. Help. "Evenin'," he called out, making his way over to that aura. "Hate to barge in on a lady's night, but you noticed there's somethin' ain't right here too, yeah? Willing to take it on together?"

"Why not?" Cordoba nodded to the senshi as she saw him, and motioned. "I heard something, but..."

"So did I," Ausonia said, frowning. "Even been up there, but whatever it is it sticks to the shadows and moves faster than I can." Now he paused and shook his head, folding his arms over his chest. "But two people... I'm thinkin' we might be able to pin it enough to at least see what the hell it is. I like t' see what I'm taking out." He had no doubt he'd have to take it out - after all, nothing good scuttled around on rooftops like that... whatever it was (whoever? whatever was trying to do. Least of all his rooftop! He had things to do - like sleeping!

"Sounds good. Just don't ask me to explain magic. I have two newbies on the senshi front try hammering sense into as is. No offense. You sound smarter." Cordoba then held up her discus, nodding. "As for catching it, Ithink so. We see it run, I can hurl this sucker and force it out." She then motioned, walking to look. "Ithink we can also feel it's aura. We might just know 'chaos' from 'Order' though." She moved, then turned on a sudden scuttle. "That area!"

"Eh, I've been around a while," Ausonia said, grinning. "Maybe not the most active on the battlefront - I have more'n enough s**t to deal with in my life without charging headlong into the fray the first chance I get - but I'm no newbie." He stretched his arms out over his head, then shrugged. "You get a few kids who cat a cat drop a pen on 'em and run, huh? Rough - props t' you for doing what you could t' help 'em." He fell quiet then, following after her - and twitched when he heard the scuttle. "Right. It won't be there long." He glanced around at rooftops and nodded. "Think I can force it that way," he said, pointing off to the right, "And give you a better spot t' throw to force it out." He didn't wait for her to confirm - there wasn't really time to wait. Hopefully this would work, and they'd know what they were dealing with soon...

"Well, in fairness," Cordobaq groaned. "One had a cat mopre interested in making Mommy magical." Because of course the nut's cat was... Odd. She sighed, and motioned, acknowledging the plan before holding up her disc, and waited, watching for danger.

"His - " Ausonia blinked, then shook his head and sighed. "Y'know what. With some of the cats out there, I'd rather not know what's going through their head when they pull awakenings like that." Ugh. He may have no fondness for the military life (thanks for that, Dad), but he knew there were reasons to fight. Reasons to stand for what's right, even with your life in danger. But getting dumped into a warzone, with a target on your back and no intel that could be vital to keeping you alive or away from worse than death? Cats that left people like that deserved to be kitty-shaped footballs. Shoving that thought aside, he jumped after the shadow, aiming to shove it in the general direction for Cordoba to flush it out properly. And once they could see what they were dealing with? It was as good as dusted.

"All I know is this broad's a goddamn nutjob." Cordoba made a face, asnd then -- once it moved -- herr discus shot out rapidly, slasmming into whatever it was rapidly. ... It looked vaguely furry and long but somehow... Batwinged with a pomnpom. What. WEas this the lovechild of a ferret and what her cousin called a moogle?!

"There's a few of those runnin' around," Ausonia said with a shrug, and as soon as the shadows seemed to drop away from the creature - the youma, definitely a youma - he made a face. "Well, at least it ain't a bug." That would be worse than this... though this was still pretty bad. He hadn't wanted a youma on his rooftop! And if they didn't dust it fast it would disappear into the shadows again and they'd have to track it down again. Worse, it could escape, and maybe do some damage to his baby. The thought of that thing getting anywhere near his baby was enough to tick him off,, and he closed the gap between himself and the youma - not fully, he didn't have to touch it for his attack, but enough. And he let magic fly. Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Deadly Premonition This attack is started when Sailor Ausonia crosses his arms over his chest; he pulls his arms apart and down, then swings them straight out in front of him and claps his hands once; this blows a thin stream of mist-like magic at a targeted enemy. When this ‘mist’ hits an enemy, they are hit with a feeling of panic and unease about the possibility of their demise and an uncertainty about what happens after death. This attack doesn’t physically affect the target, but it can induce distraction and in particularly mentally-fragile enemies holds the potential to make them freeze up.
Note: The ‘mist’ itself isn’t actually mist at all, merely a manifestation of Ausonia’s magic, and vanishes once the target begins to feel the effects. The effects themselves last for a short time, but can linger on those who are more inclined to this particular fear – and can wear off nearly-instantly if the target is of a stronger mental constitution or a higher-ranking enemy. I.E. a captain or higher would be able to throw it off much faster than a lieutenant.

Cordoba watched Ausonia's magic fly, blue eyes flicking back and forth as she watched the mist move. That.. Well this really weas refreshing -- a senshi that knew his job? Good lord, they needed more like this fighting and less like... Certain insane parties. (The tiny corrupt needed far from fighting, period). Cordoba watched the small cloud migraste for the youma, and watched one of the youma's feet twitch to try moving away-- And her disc was recalled and flying at the youma, slamming it into the mist roughly as Cordoba snarled. "Oh no you don'tyousnivelling little shitstain!" Her motion had been almost snappy -- brisk, sharp, and rapid, and the page was having none of this youma's bullshit -- her expression sharp and cold as it began to dissolve into dust. The dust that she ignored joining the wind as she turned to Ausonia, flashing a thumbs up. "Nice spell." She beamed. "Couldstand to see more sane folks out there." She sighed, motioning. "Wanna power down, get a coffee or something?" A date? No-- he reminded her of her big brother. But as friends? Hell to the yes.

There. One dusted youma, courtesy of his underused magic. Eh, maybe he should start getting involved with this s**t, war or not. Magical saving-the-world was still different enough from what his Dad had wanted for him that it probably wouldn't bother him too much. And Emily Wren - Elpis might need the support, with as.... erratic... as her dad could be. Turning away from the blowing dust, he looked at the page and grinned. "We could, if y' want. I owe y' one anyway, helpin' me take care of the youma that tried t' set up camp on my own damn roof." He waited for a moment to let the page process that before hopping off the room and powering down. Coffee would be a fair repayment for the aid with that scuttling little nightmare.

"Your--" Oh. OH. Well, ******** jumped down, and powered down, pointing a big with wide eyes. "Mom's boyfriend mentioned you! You're his sister's daughter's boyfriend! Emily Wren, right?" She noted. Her eyes were big, and she motioned. "Wish I'd known,I'd have done more!... Or.. Well that's all I can offer -- my hand if you ever need it. Kestrel DeLacey, by the way." She huffed, offering a hand shake. "Her uncle's pretty much permanently dating my mom and Aunt. Nice to meet you. Any coffee preferences?"

"Small world," Joseph said, and blinked. Then he grinned and took the offered hand. "Though you've got it wrong. Emily Wren's not my name." He knew what she had actually meant, but couldn't resist the chance to tease her. "Name's Joseph Ross, nice t'meet almost-family of Wren's." Kestrel, huh? Neat name. He'd have to remember that. "Nah, no major preferences. It has caffeine? I'm good." Huh. Maybe this'd turn out to be a decent evening after all.
