It wasn't all that hard for Fred o what Melvin had asked him to. The toughest part had been enduring the awkwardness of dealing with his pale creepy friend who lectured him on how important it would be to keep the place spotless and how he'd know if he didn't. He needed him to open the door so he could get Melvin's things. When he left he'd been glad to depart. The guy had seemed friendly enough but something had felt fundamentally off with him.

Either way he had set off with a guide down to Atlantis, the sun hunter dropping him off at the route which led to the pool room and he surfaced not long after and pulled himself out of the water. Everything in this place was a ******** adventure, even delivering s**t to prospective employers.

He gave Fred a time that, thanks to his phone now being workable to see a clock, he arrived shortly after. The gates to Atlantis opened wide, allowing him to walk through, before shutting himself him.

His clothes were the wet-suit he had when he came down for the dive, and he was glad to see that Fred was there, alive, and had a familiar dive bag with him.

"I'm impressed. You actually made it down here." The gates closed shut again leaving them in the green glow of the runes that lined the cave walls.

"Nice to see you again." He said, walking over, feet bare as he opened his hand. "Can I have my bag please?"

Fred had decided before he even went down to the bottom of the ocean that around Melvin he was going to maintain an impeccable poise and that he’d be just as capable as Tom could be.

“Certainly.” He said with a grin, handing over the bag which he’d filled with all the things Melvin had asked for along with a neat container of freshly made food that Lawrence had asked him to bring.

“And it’s no trouble sir.” He said “I am more than willing to turn my hand to anything you might require.”

It took a lot of effort to keep the casual slang out of his voice, the desire to put the word mate at the end of everything difficult to suppress.

“Your employment after all is a gift to me.”

He looked up at the mention of "sir" and seemed a bit startled to hear it, not expecting it but it quickly reminding him he was indeed employing someone. He would be someone's official boss of sorts, and would be giving someone else orders for his own personal benefit.

He sounded different than when they had sparred.

"A mutual exchange. I can't be doing everything up on the island now with how things are going down here, and I like to maintain my home and my affairs until I can return and then start making some progress moving." Because with the Sun out, he could start working on his house.

He knelt down, not hiding the fact he was inspecting the package for everything he asked for. Considering it had been a text, the only thing that had been restricting him was reading and finding it. It did slightly bother him that he employed a man he only met once to riffle through his things. "I hope you left everything as neat as you left it." And didn't pull out clothes from his drawers willy-nilly in a way that was now a clothes pile stuffed in a shelf.

Notebook. Pens. Sets of clothes that actually matched. A pair of shoes finally. He felt strange walking barefoot everywhere. The ipod he asked for to listen to music.

"There is a chest by my desk. It has what are called Runic batteries that are both normal and supreme. For the time being, if you feel impatient and low on funding, you can barter or sell them directly to the Runic department for a set price to get you some wages." He pulled out the container and stared at it, opening a corner to see the contents. "I hope you didn't cause Mr. Michaels any issues either. He like to poke and prod. Don't rise to it or a fight will break out and I'd rather not have you and him fighting."

After Nash, he now felt he had to make that some sort of stated line.

He closed the container. "How hard was it for you to get down here? Could you make the trip on your own?"

"I completely understand." Fred said with a bright smile. "Atlantis is important, and it is fortunate it's in capable hands."

He stepped aside and let Melvin look through the package, satisfied that everything should be present and correct and neatly packed.

"The tupperware containers are from Mr Michaels." he said. "He said he'd made something for you to eat and requested I bring it here."

He nodded. "I'm grateful for the payment m....sir. And don't concern yourself, I was around Mr Michaels for a while gathering the items you requested and we got along just fine. He's a little unusual and likes to criticise what I am doing but I won't rise to a fight with him while I am on duty, you have my word."

He shrugged. "Wasn't difficult, I think I would be fine repeating the journey whenever. I'm pretty fit, was just like a run, good bit of exercise."
