It's that time of year again--Halloween is fast approaching and that means you get to see what we've been cooking up! This year we've prepared some RPs and prompts that everyone will be able to participate in, so if those interest you, make sure to keep checking back here for new opportunities! More information can be found in the Ticket Opportunities list in the next post! Even if you're not interested in any of our super cool prizes, we hope a little roleplay might be enough to get everyone involved! Roleplay opportunities will only be open from now until ~6pm EST on October 28th. The raffle will be rolled after a ticket list is compiled and winners will have 72 hours to contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, with their preference list. Anyone who does not respond within 72 hours will forfeit their slot and new winners will be rolled. The majority of these events will be designed specifically with civilians in mind, so players with no characters, and players who only have non-human characters (such as Guardian Cats or Youma), are allowed to play a disposable. Please see our information on disposables a few posts down!

Ticket Opportunities
Tickets can only be earned through Halloween Event Roleplays or Event Prompts, so you must be active in the shop if you are interested in participating in the raffle! Each roleplay will have specific instructions, so please make sure to read the rules when you are signing up! The shop will be hosting both events/ORPs as well as putting up prompts. Links to all the events will be kept in this post, and all prompts will be listed here as well! To claim a ticket, you will need to fill out the following code and post it in this thread! I AM CLAIMING A TICKET Link to thread: [link to the thread you are claiming for; if you are responding to a prompt, make sure you indicate which prompt you are responding to either in this form or the thread!] Events/ORPsWhile each shop run ORP will have its own rules, a few general things are important to keep in mind! While players can include as many of their official characters as they want, you can only earn one raffle ticket per link. This means, regardless of how many characters you play, you can only earn one raffle ticket. All events will be run for civilians only, so there will be no powering up! To earn a raffle ticket, you must write at least 500 words, though if you have multiple characters this can be spread out across them. Open Events:N/A Closed Events:Destiny City Bootanical GardenPromptsEach Prompt may only be counted towards a raffle ticket once per player. This means that if you respond to the same prompt with multiple characters, only the first one will count for a raffle ticket. We will make a small announcement any time a new prompt is put up, so check back here regularly to see if there's anything new you are interested in writing! All prompt responses must be posted in the Mini-Event subforum and can be written as a solo, a regular, or a battle (if applicable!). These should be labelled [Halloween-S], [Halloween-R], or [Halloween-B]. If you roleplay a disposable, these will not count towards any growth requirements for them, but if you are roleplaying with someone who has a disposable, it can still count for growth for your official character. More information on disposables can be found in the next post! To receive a raffle ticket for a prompt, you must write at least five hundred words and should include the prompt either in your first post or in the code you post in this thread to claim a ticket. The roleplay does not have to be finished in order to claim a ticket, but it will need to be finished before it can be used for growth requirements. Current Prompts:Quote: A new candy store is giving free promotional candy to try and attract new customers. At first, it’s delicious; it’s easily one of the best candies you’ve ever had. Only, within twenty four hours of eating your first piece, you begin to have extreme tooth pain that can last for up to a whole day. It feels like a cavity, but a trip to the dentist reveals nothing strange. It just hurts. While the pain eventually fades, you’ll remember how much it hurt. Is your drive for Halloween Candy dented or are you still gearing up for more? Quote: Recent rainfall has kept temperatures cool but one of the parks can’t handle all the water draining into it. The water has turned it into a strange swamp and, in addition to the terrible smell, people have claimed to see strange floating lights—or, weirder—a strange, hulking figure that seems right at place in the swamp. Some have described it as being seven feet tall, covered in moss and weeds and mud and who knows what else; while no one has been able to confirm this, if you venture too close you might wind up observing something strange, yourself. The park no longer feels safe and if you wander too close you may feel hateful eyes upon you. You may even wind up chased out by a monstrous swamp monster, but if you try to approach him or interact otherwise, he seems to disappear. It’s probably best just to stay away from the park until the water dries up, just in case. Quote: An old church you are familiar with and have seen many times has recently been closed due to fire damage. The area has been deemed too dangerous for anyone to enter, and yet you notice a strange gargoyle perched on the roof. It is large and imposing and you know it’s never been there before. If you try to climb up the building or if you leave the area and return, the gargoyle will have disappeared. You never see it move, but you know you saw it. Giant stone sculptures don’t just up and fly away…right? Whatever it is you saw, it’s gone now, but you might want to keep your eyes on the rooftops and pay attention when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Quote: While making your way through Destiny City, you wind up taking a path you’ve never taken before. Maybe you’re following directions, maybe you got lost, maybe you were just looking for a shortcut—things were going good, until you wind up needing to pass through a graveyard. It seems normal enough—until you pass by a grave and get powerful chill down your spine. When you stop and look at it, you see the gravestone has your name; beneath it, your birthday and today’s date. If you leave and return, the gravestone remains, but the name and dates look like they’ve been clawed off. Quote: You receive a mysterious package in the mail. It has your name on it, but no return address. Inside is an extremely creepy doll. Realistically it seems well made and well maintained, but there’s something off about it. If you choose to keep it, it seems to always have its eyes on you. Sometimes it seems to have moved from where you left it—and, since you received it, sometimes you hear a strange, echoing laughter. What do you do? Quote: You hear a weird scuttling on your rooftop in the middle of the night but it doesn’t sound like any rodent or noise you can easily identify. Whatever it is sounds like it’s doing a lot of movement—and is sizeable enough to give you decent concern. Is it an animal? A robber? If you listen closely you can hear strange chattering and an odd whisper; it feels like eyes are watching you, but you can’t see anything. The noise doesn’t last for long; whatever is on your roof is moving—but, if you are brave enough to check outside you might be sorely disappointed to find that you can’t see anything but shadows. Either way, there’s something out there…and it’s not safe to stay out for long. Quote: It’s fall and pumpkin spice is everywhere. A local coffee shop has some great new recipes and there’s been a lot of buzz about it—only, if you’ve indulged you may find yourself with some unusual side effects. Due to some very defective pumpkins (and who knows what else), pumpkin spice lovers are suffering from nausea, vomiting and—perhaps worst of all—your skin has turned orange on top of it all. Thankfully the discoloration and illness seems to wear off within a few hours, but you probably shouldn’t go back for a second cup. Quote: Walking anywhere at night can be risky in Destiny City, but tonight it’s not being attacked by some punk in a strange outfit. The squeaking above you is a dead giveaway that you’re not going to have a good night. Perhaps you remember the flock of bats that swarmed down on Destiny City last year; if you’re lucky, this is your first time being attacked by one. Thankfully it seems like a lone bat has made its way out of whatever cave they’ve moved from, but this thing is giant. It has a six foot wingspan. Does the bat fly away without harassing you? Do you fight it? If it scratches you, you walk away fine, but if it bites you then you can expect a rough time. Being bitten by these bats leaves two small marks that will itch for a few hours. Then, exhaustion and fatigue sets in and you become extremely sensitive to external stimulus; skin feels like it becomes overheated in sunlight, bright lights are painful to the eyes, and smells and sounds can seem overwhelming. The victim will feel constantly cold and hungry, no matter how much they eat or drink. They may also be prone to agitation and bouts of violence. These afflictions may last only a few hours or a few days and then suddenly disappear. Quote: Webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace; at first it doesn’t seem like anything to be concerned with—at first. Maybe a web over a window or door frame is the worst you see, but there have been reports of webs that cover a whole tree or even entire cars. The media cites changing weather patterns and, even though you don’t see any spiders, it’s clear you might have a problem. Quote: Late one night, you find yourself in a fairly under populated area of town. You’ve been strangely alone for the past few moments when you see movement out of the corner of your eye. Only a few yards away you see a young woman with tear-stained cheeks and a long white gown. It is difficult to make out any more details; she seems to be running from something. She looks like she is screaming but makes no sound; even her footsteps seem to be silent. If you try to chase her, you will wind up in a dead end—alone, and suddenly, cold. It feels like something has slammed into you and turned your blood to ice, but there’s no one around. No matter what you do, the chill remains until morning—but the image of the woman’s fear-filled face may haunt your dreams for much longer. Quote: Giant spiders were reported at the Destiny City Botanical Garden, but upon police arrival none of the spiders could be found. This either means that everyone there had a mass hallucination, or worse…There are Giant Spiders still out there, lurking in Destiny City. You might have been at the Gardens, you might not have—but you’re about to get up close and personal with a giant spider while you are out one night. At first, nothing seems amiss; the spiders have no energy signatures and can creep silently, but they appear out of nowhere. They are easily the size of a small car and can appear alone or in groups. Their legs are strong and sharp, and they have long fans the size of steak knives. Toxic foam dribbles from their mouths, so if you’re fighting them— be careful. The spiders can be defeated or will run away if they are too damaged, but another spider will always arrive to claim the carcass of the fallen. You can run, fight, call for help—anything—just be careful. Those spider bites are a pain… Quote: Being bitten by a giant spider is uncomfortable enough, but worse than the sharp pain you feel on impact are the linger effects of the bite. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately after being bitten or can manifest up to a few hours after the toxins are introduced to the bloodstream. These symptoms may only last for a few hours—or up to 72 hours. You, or someone you know, has the misfortune of being bitten; no medicine seems to help this ailment, so you’re stuck weathering this one out on your own. Quote: It seems like a normal day, considering all the odd happenings you can usually expect from Destiny City. The weather’s great, the people are tolerable, and everything’s going fine. You are out, enjoying the good fortune, when you catch a familiar face in the crowd: yours. They are wearing your clothes, your face, and you see them for only a second but a feeling of dread floods through you. They smirk, like they know they’ve won—and then you lose them in the crowd. No matter how hard you look, you can’t find any sight of them, but a feeling of dread and being watched follows you for the rest of the day.

Disposables
If you don't have a character in the shop yet, that's okay! Players may use a quest character or a character they create on the spot to participate in event only roleplays and prompts. You can only roleplay your character in the Mini-Event subforum. When setting up a new thread, you must put an asterisk next to your character's name to indicate that they are not officially won. For example, you might write a solo based off of a prompt and it would be titled [Event Solo] Title [Name*]. If you are participating in an ORP, the rules may be different so please read each thread accordingly!
If you are a new member of the shop and do not have a character in the shop and want to respond to a prompt by writing either a solo or roleplay, please fill out the following form and put it in a spoiler in your first post! Even if you have filled it out for other events or threads, you must include this in every new thread you are involved in. Character’s name: Age: Appearance: Personality Traits: (list 2-4 virtues and an equal number of flaws; these can be one word descriptions of each trait and do not need explanation)

Remember, your character must be unawakened and human, and should be a fairly believable character. If you have questions about what might be acceptable, please contact a member of our moderator staff for answers! You can also PM the shop mule The Space Cauldron and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!
If you already have a character in the shop, you should not play a disposable unless all your characters are either unplayable or cannot participate. For example, if you have a character who is currently in the hospital and could not believably be involved in anything, you could play a temporary disposable. If you only have a full-youma and cannot justify them putting on a civilian glamour to participate or the prompts do not in any way relate to them, or if you have a Mauvian who does not have a civilian glamour, you can play a disposable instead--however, you must PM the shop mule to give us a brief explanation as well as provide the character form in your PM. We just want to make sure everything checks out, so this will be a quick approval and is just to make things easier on us!
Playing a disposable in this event does not mean they will die! You can quest for these characters at a later point in time, if you so choose! Remember, if the character has not been officially won and arted, none of your RPs will count towards their growth, but you are still eligible for prizes or RP related rewards! Playing a disposable during this event does not guarantee that you will receive your character, but it's a good opportunity to get your feet wet!
