The only way in which this office looks militaristic is that it looks like someone's bunker. The standard layout of the space has been mostly buried underneath a veritable truckload of boxes. From what can be seen, many of the contents are practical, if not present in absurdly high quantities. Styrofoam cups of noodles, spare work suits, textbooks on psionics and the history of space flight, flashlights and spare batteries. Upon closer inspection, the hoard turns up a number of less standard workplace paraphernalia. Snowglobes, obscure movie posters, ceramic vases, a conch shell, the occasional musical instrument.

The desk at the center of the storm is perhaps the cleanest surface, if only relatively speaking. The front half is lined with mismatched mason jars. Each is filled with a different array of objects ranging from actual office supplies, to snacks, to a couple jars of colored marbles. The paperwork consuming the rest of the desk space is perhaps the only area with an actual organizational system in place.

Sascha sits in a high backed office chair behind the desk. He looks more put-together than usual--and far more than his surroundings--dressed in his smartly tailored uniform with his hair pulled back. Red drug store readers perch on the end of his nose. Upon being disturbed, he removes the glasses and unceremoniously pushes the papers out of the way. He seems relieved by the distraction, but not intent on letting anyone know.

"You got something to tell me?"

Chiara came into the room and smiled suspiciously. "Yeah, actually, i do." She said as she moved farther into the room. She put her hands on the desk, looming over the yellowblood, a hungry grin on her face. "Look at you, hot stuff. Already climbing the ladder of power, and now you have an office of your very own." Chiara leaned forward some more over the desk. "Congrats, to say the least." She tilted her head and gave the yellowblood a somewhat sad smile. "But i dont know Sascha, sharing you? Its hard."

Sascha's expression was suspicious, but not unwelcoming. He waved flippantly in the direction of what was presumably a chair. It had long since been obscured by cardboard boxes. The gesture was one of rote geniality, and barely that. He transitioned the palm of his hand to rest under his chin as he leaned on the desk.

"Chiara! Fancy seeing you here." He did little more than smile as Chiara leaned in.

"Is it now? I imagine that's a common sentiment. I'm in high demand these nights." Sascha had been working multiple jobs for as long as he'd been old enough to leave his lusus's side. However, he knew well enough that wasn't the point of Chiara's appearance. What exactly that point was, Sascha was all too curious to find out.

"Oooh, hard to get, huh?" The blueblood raised an eyebrow. "Look whos playing games now!" She picked up the box of papers from the chair, and not quite gently put them on the ground. The blueblood claimed the seat, but, just for Sascha, did not use his desk as a foot rest.

"Oh im teasing!" She reassured the yellowblood, guessing that her last line would make him frown. "Really, im proud to have such a successful friend." Chiara smiled warmly at him. She was, in fact, proud of him. "Right now there is not a whole lot for us peons to get up to, and, well, i was wondering if you wanted a helping hand." She said, giving Sascha's piles and piles of boxes and papers a look. "Wolnt that be fun? You get to be my boss now."

It had not come as a surprise to discover NOVA's recruitment and promotion to Public Liaison Lieutenant in the Psionic Forces. A part of Cerpin had flooded with anxiety and tension at the thought of it but in the end, he was honestly happy for Sascha to be making strides in his career. Even if it was in the opposite direction of Cerpin's life. Which was why he'd dragged Tevini all the way up here to conveyor 12 to take a glimpse into the yellowblood's office and see how much the royalist might have changed since he'd last seen him. He cracked the door open a smidge. Judging by the state of the office covered random containers of junk, Sascha hadn't changed much.

Then he saw the man himself.

'Oh.' It wasn't often that he felt off balance like this. A heat flushed through him. Cerpin hesitated in his tracks, eyes glued to the sight of a much more polished and cleaned up Sascha than he was used to. He looked so presentable and clean cut that it made the purpleblood want to reach out and mess it up to get back to a sense of normality. Sascha removed the glasses and started to chat with someone inside. He recognized the second voice as well, Chiara. Tevini wasn't going to like that.

She said something about sharing him. Were they...? Eavesdropping on the conversation didn't get him any clear answers. Cerpin shoved the door wide open.

"So this is where you've been hiding, Chiara. Ha, what are these?" Plucking the readers from the desk, he propped them back on the yellowblood's face. It helped cover up some of that uncomfortable feeling.

"Never took you for the nerd type, Sasch." He moved to take a seat on the desk, not realizing it was filled with ******** jars. He quickly straightened up after stabbing his a** on a pencil and sat on the armrest of Chiara's chair instead.

Sascha rolled his eyes and, true to Chiara's prediction, frowned at her antics. However, the expression faded back to mild interest easily enough. He returned Chiara's smile, all too accepting of the praise.

He opened his mouth to respond when the door burst open. Sascha shot to attention as the door thudded against a stack of cardboard. "C-Cerpin!?" Sascha immediately chastised himself for sputtering. He braced himself against the desk, now prepared for anything, but allowed Cerpin to replace his glasses nonetheless.

Sascha's eyes narrowed behind the lenses. Cerpin looked blurry at the distance he was standing--now sitting--but Sascha could read the smug dramatics all the same.

"Figures you two would know each other," Sascha grumbled, casting a side-eye to the fuzzy blue shape that was Chiara.

"You sure as hell don't get where I am by being dumb." Sascha removed the glasses before they could give him a headache, snapping the arms shut with a "click". He folded his arms across the surface of the desk. The proximity of the two highbloods allowed Sascha to level them with a single suspicious stare. "I know I wasn't kidding about being popular, but this just seems silly. You're not both here looking for job opportunities, right?" Sascha gestured to the pair with the edge of the glasses.

If looks could kill, why Cerpin would be dead meat. Chiara momentarily wished her latent powers had manifested with something like laser eyes, but for the moment all she could do was put on one of her classic smiles and nod at Cerpin. She wrapped an arm about Cerpin's waist, resisting the urge to dig her claws into his side, as he sat on her chair. "Heyyyy~" she said suggestively, looking up at the purpleblood. "How about that, you coming down here to get orders from a yellowblood? Is there something else going on, huh?" She looked at the purpleblood, as if seeing right through him. She knew he liked that kinda kinky stuff. She just didn't know Sascha was into that too. She leaned back in her chair, her eyes back on the yellowblood. "Interesting taste Sascha."

"Course we know each other, NOVA. Her Dance Battle stuff's in my club." Cerpin snorted. They had also all been involved in the flamboyant spectacle of Superstar Authority not too long ago, the two highbloods as sponsors. And with how much name dropping had spammed the competition, it would be impossible not to at least know of each other. The purpleblood and the blueblood went much further back than that though, farther than he even realized.

"Oh please, Chiara," The rockstar rolled his eyes and picked up the jar of marbles to curiously poke through it, "I'm Volunteer Outreach Corps. Like 'Lieutenant Diasis' could order me around." He laughed, obviously not really sure if the yellowblood actually could or not. Were the different departments separate? He plucked a sparkly rainbow marble out from the jar and inspected it. Caiden would probably like this and so he pocketed it without asking.

The subtler implications of her words had not gone unnoticed by him. He just didn't have a clear answer for her. The purpleblood was not used to a continued interest in someone beyond five or six nights. How did one navigate feelings like those? What a pain.

"I just came by to-" Have a little more fun together before factions tore them apart. Enjoy the taste of a challenging rivalry. Indulge himself before he had to grow up and say goodbye. The memory of Akkira's shoulders slumped dejectedly in that swampy clearing, struggling to let go of feelings for an outsider, haunted him. He'd told her to chase after her target but he hesitated to take his own advice. Someday Sascha might be up there shooting down his ship. Cerpin didn't know if space was big enough to keep that from happening.

It really sucked to think about all of this.

"-congratulate him. I mean, a lieutenant and Psionic Forces? Come on, you have to let me treat you to a party at Underworld." Where the ******** was Tevini? Maybe she could show up and get him out of here before Chiara pried too much further.

Chiara tried to hide her annoyance. Cerpin was... a pain. And, he looked like he was begging for Sascha's attention. The blueblood partially wanted to stay, make things worse for Cerpin, but at the same time, this was valuable time of hers that the purpleblood was wasting. She needed to get Sascha alone, or at least not around a troll that could not take a hint and leave. Chiara stood up, so she was about eye level with the purpleblood who had been sitting on the armrest of her chair. "Its so nice to see you Cerpin.." She said, stroking his jaw line. She leaned in and kissed the boy, aggressively. "Come find me later, okay?" She said, trying to keep the conniving smile off her face. With that the blueblood grinned at Sascha and walked out.

She really didnā€™t belong here. Peering in from the doorway, Tevini had followed Cerpin to this office because she didnā€™t want to be apart from him but by no means was she at all comfortable. She remembered this troll. Sheā€™d caused a big spectacle for him during the Superstar event, attacking him after a failed attempt to stop Cerpin. It seemed like he and Cerpin were still on good terms, which was good, but sheā€™d been horrified to learn NOVA, or should she say Sascha, had been promoted in the military.

With subtle hint of a question a few nights ago to Cerpin, sheā€™d made sure that the purpleblood knew that. Tevini hated to rain on him with bad news all the time butā€¦ they needed to be careful. Their public identities were clean again and sheā€™d hate to jeopardize that. Theyā€™d signed up with fake names and brought disguises to change into, hell sheā€™d even agreed to a deal with Chiara, Chiara, to have someone to vouch for them. Cerpin had to be good and not say anything rebel related to Sascha or itā€™d all be blown.

So it was a good thing really, that he was flirting. If he was flirting he wasnā€™t ******** up. So it drove her crazy that she was so bothered by it.

"Hello." The redblood murmured as she finally took a step in, just as Chiara leaned over to him. Time seemed to slow down as the woman she hated leaned to kiss the man she loved. Then it was suddenly over and Chiara was strutting out the door.

"ā€¦" What did one say to something like that? Even if she wasnā€™t incredibly jealous and angry, how did one continue their entrance after an exit like that? Sort of shocked, Tevini simply stood there staring at the two other remaining occupants of the room for a good minute. Attempting to compose herself, she swallowed.

"Congratulations, NOVA, on your promotion." She finally said. It was the best she could come up with while struggling with the anxiety of how Sascha would feel about her being here, heartbreak of what sheā€™d just seen, and general feeling of being unsafe surrounded by military forces. Tevini knew she was a wimp but even by normal standards she felt like it was justified to be a little shooken up.

Sascha had garnered quite the reputation for himself. He was a dancer, a singer, a military man. None of those professions included the ability to read a room. He looked on at Chiara with an impressive display of calm... granted he caught her insinuation in the first place. Cerpin was quick to cut in before the mystery could be solved, however. He snorted at the purpleblood's insistence he couldn't be ordered around. "I'm not just wearing this badge 'cos it's pretty. If you think I'm gonna pass up the opportunity to pull rank on a frilly highblood, you've got another thing coming." His smirk relaxed to something more pleasant as Cerpin segued into the offer of a party. He waved his hand loosely as though he wouldn't absolutely take him up on that offer later.

Chiara abruptly got up to leave. Sascha raised an eyebrow. He hadn't given her his answer ye- His other eyebrow joined its twin high on his forehead as Chiara aggressively macked on his other guest. "Okay, bye," Sascha waved again, unsure what else to do with his hands.

He blinked, unable to muster yet another expression of surprise as he realized Tevini had entered the room. As an afterthought, he returned his hand to the desktop. He still wasn't able to parse the atmosphere, but he did know he didn't trust Tevini as far as he could throw her... which was probably not the best analogy for Sascha as he was certain he could get some serious distance with the smaller lowblood.

The pause before Sascha replied to Tevini lasted a little longer than comfortable. He seemed to be considering something in the middle distance. "Thank you," he said with uncharacteristic primness. "Do you have business with me, or are you just here to retrieve Cerpin?" Sascha looked over at the troll in question. He wasn't entirely sure how he was handling whatever just transpired between himself and Chiara.

Her lips were sudden, like he'd been shot down by lightning. His eyes widened and he fell silent as she left, a smile on her face and in her eyes. He was not stupid enough to mistake what had just happened as affection. That kiss had been pure mischief, its sole purpose being to put him in a bad spot. He could feel Tevini's eyes on him as she awkwardly spoke. To the untrained eye, she was stoic as ever but he could tell she was upset and shutting down. His blood ran cold with irritation. What was Chiara playing at?

"Whatever, Sash. You can't pull rank on me until you can best me in a real fight." His eyes flickered to the badge that the yellowblood had mentioned. "You got that badge from dancing around a stage." His voice dripped with more venom than he'd meant for. He knew Sascha was strong and would easily prove he deserved his rank. But it still bothered Cerpin how easily Sascha seemed to grab at success. If he had gone down a different path in life, one without the hardships of rebel secrecy and scrutiny, would he be the one sitting comfortably behind that desk? SHEshell, NOVA, Frossā˜†, all of them dazzlingly talented and somehow, he could not help but envy them and their recent achievements. He was struggling to make do with a two and a half person space program while Sascha had an entire military to get him to the stars.

Maybe he was being too hard on Sascha. He was only following the path the spectrum had laid out for him after all. And if Cerpin really was a rebel, why did the idea of getting ordered around by a lowblood bother him so much?

"... sorry, I'm just not feeling good tonight." Cerpin grumbled a half assed apology and rising from his perch on the armrest. He nodded at Tevini to signal he was done here and started for the door. It was probably for the best to get the hell out of here before he said anything worse or before Sascha took him up on that offer to kick his a**.

Sascha slumped forward in his chair. After all that activity on The Spiteful Exasperation of the Empress--his first trip to space no less--the last thing he wanted to do was file reports. The cost of greatness, he supposed.

Greatness wouldn't explode a perfectly good ship into space dust, Sascha nearly grumbled. He knew that wasn't how the process worked, but blowing up a ship wasn't nearly as cool as steering it into a space dock to be salvaged later. Granted, explosions were still cool. Just not as cool. He wanted to be responsible for an entire future fleet of Alternian ships. The first their people had seen in decades.

Sascha supposed he'd just have to try harder. That's what he was best at, after all.

Hey there CO what is up =D

Cpl. Psykgi Mentha

"Hello, Hello!" Psykgi said, at about the same time as her knock. She was just too damn excited to wait.

"Corporal Mentha," she said, saluting, "Reporting in!" She had said report in her hands, done up nicely with some underlining for emphasis on the really neat bits. "A successful ship retrieval!"

She could not restrain her excitement.

"Isn't that just neat?!"

Tevini had told him it was a bad idea to do this but he'd waved away her concern. There were somethings you just couldn't resist. And for him, messing with Sascha Diasis was one of them. Perhaps it was the fact that despite how cool he tried to be, Cerpin always felt like he was one step behind the yellowblood. But now, maybe, with this, he'd finally gotten ahead. He pushed the doors open and beelined to the desk.

"Paperwork? Shouldn't you be out salvaging ships?" He shoved a jar of something off the desk to make room to sit on the corner of it. It fell into a box of something else, who knew what. The room was packed full of Sascha's junk for some random reason. Maybe it made the other boy feel better to be able to see all of his belongings at once or something.

"That's what I've been doing anyways." He casually dropped a copy of the report he'd delivered to Elishe's office onto the desk for Sascha to have. "It's a shame you weren't there to drive it. What a rush when it powered on!" It gave him a high just to remember watching the control panel boot up without any errors. He purposefully left out mention of the other failed ships he'd tried to collect.

a more accurate disguise name for cerpin would have been 'imabig douche' i suppose
